There is a distinct singular American culture - rugged individualism and self-reliance - which made America great.

A distinct culture? So, everyone in America is exactly the same? The way I learned it, this country was a melting pot of a number of different cultures. And, as I remember, on the frontier, it took COOPERATION and PEOPLE HELPING EACH OTHER in order for the town to survive. The only thing that the conservative version of individualism and self-reliance got us was mill owners forcing women to work in dark, dangerous environments for 14 hours a day and railroad tycoons who had no problem with the fact that hundreds died building their railroads – all to increase THEIR wealth, and everyone else be damned.

The vast majority of the rich in this country did not inherit their wealth; they earned it. They are the country's achievers, producers, and job creators.

Pure bullshit. People who do not inherit wealth come into by luck – in other words, the stock market, getting a promotion by being at the right place at the right time, etc. Most people who are wealthy had wealthy parents who sent them to the best schools, made sure their other wealthy friends got their children jobs, and rig an election for them…oops, did I say that out loud?

No nation has ever taxed itself into prosperity.

No nation ever came into prosperity by letting the rich get richer (see: France, 1700’s; Spain, early 1900’s).

Evidence refutes liberalism.

What evidence? Our founding fathers were liberals. Anyone who has studied political science would say that people like Rush are actually CLASSICAL LIBERALS – a true conservative (i.e., Edmund Burke) does believe in larger government, more taxes, but wants things to stay where they are.

It isn’t? Tell that to the birds dying out west from drinking the sulfuric acid used in leeching copper from ore. Character matters; leadership descends from character.

I will grant that character lends much to leadership. However, what is character? Is character owning up to past mistakes? (Clinton) Is it not ratting out someone else to save your own ass? (Susan McDougal) Character is built by living through bad times, or making mistakes, and learning from them, and using that knowledge throughout life. Most conservatives grow up rich; consequently, they know nothing of bad times and believe that God forgives their mistakes and therefore they need learn nothing from them.

The way to improve our schools is not more money, but the reintroduction of moral and spiritual values, as well as the four "R's": reading, 'riting, 'rithmatic, and Rush.

No, the way to improve schools is to attract more bright, energetic people to the teaching profession, which means PAYING THEM MORE!! Trim down bloated administrations, quite blaming teachers for students not learning, and quit relying on moronic standardized tests that DO NOT measure intelligence.

Using federal dollars as a measure, our cities have not been neglected, but poisoned with welfare dependency funds.

So, our cities would improve if only we cut off the only source of income many people have? Yes, our cities would drastically improve if we had even MORE homeless people and abandoned buildings.

Progress is not striving for economic justice or fairness, but economic growth.

Liberals measure compassion by how many people are given welfare. Conservatives measure compassion by how many people no longer need it.

Since when? No liberal enjoys giving out welfare; we only see the necessity of it as a social safety net. Compassion is measured by how you care for people, not by telling them to go fuck themselves.

Compassion is no substitute for justice.

What is justice? Is justice getting 10-15 for stealing a thousand-dollar car while someone who evades millions in tax gets maybe a year? Isn’t justice supposed to be fair? And why can’t we give people another chance? Believe it or not, there are a lot of people in prison who REALLY never want to go back, and want to go straight – I’ve worked with some.

The culture war is between the winners and those who think they're losers who want to become winners. The losers think the only way they can become winners is by banding together all the losers and then empowering a leader of the losers to make things right for them.

So, the "losers" should just give up? While we’re at it, let’s just set up a caste system. That’s what you conservatives want, isn’t it? To be the new aristocrats?
