Sidebar: I realize we at bartcop.com
won't settle this issue,
but it needs to be settled before the Greens give Smirk another term.
This is a CC I got in the mail and I just added my two cents.
It is so tiring to hear one democrat after another
(evidently grasping at straws) blame
the outcome of the last presidential election
on Greens and their candidate. Let's look at it:
For the record, I have not blamed the Greens exclusively.
It's true, had the Greens not voted for Ego-boy, Gore would've won,
but many factors were involved in The Florida Theft.
1. Al Gore won the election. Do I need to repeat
that? Apparently,
I do. AL GORE WON THE ELECTION.
If he had won by another million
votes and had it stolen, would that
mollify you? No, then you blame
it on flying saucers or planetary
alignments, or something
(Anything! Help, my candidate is
a bum, and my party is ball-less!).
If Gore had won by "another million" it would've been much harder
for Scalia to appoint the boy king over the will of the voters..
2. Al Gore would have won the election by an even
wider margin if he
had simply used his nomination acceptance
speech as a spring board.
That night, he said what many millions
wanted to hear. Then, he set out
on the campaign trail to be dull,
wimpy, centrist, and neo-liberal. Then again,
maybe SOMEBODY was inspired by the
wooden block who couldn't even
carry his own state. Oh, I forgot!
Ralph Nader caused him to lose!
It had slipped my mind! It had nothing
to do with his own incompetence,
voter fraud, or a corrupt Supreme
Court! Yeah, Ralph Nader, that's the ticket!
True, Gore refused to fight, and that was a factor.
Gore ran away from the most popular politician in momory and
he also refused
to use the "big hammer" on the campaign trail, which I hope
he now regrets.
History will remember that Gore lost to an idiot with an IQ
of 91.
By the way, I think the evidence says Gore did win Tennessee,
but not until after the election was decided by Scalia.
3. If you want to know who is really assisting
the Smirk and his pals in doing such evil,
as you put it "might well be irreversible
for mankind, for the planet, for all life",
perhaps you should have a look at
your democrat "long slow curve" friends.
Let me see... they bent over
for the tax cut, they bent over for the energy bill
the other day, they are bending
over for junking Kyoto, they are bending over on
missile defense, they are bending
over for "faith-based charity", they are bending over
for the roll-back of environmental
protections...need I go on? Or will you rationalize
this apparent cooperation as some
sort of really, really long, very, very slow, flat line
that somewhere at infinity will
begin to curve? In fact, they are so silent and compliant,
one would almost suspect they are
cooperating!
I wish I had a snappy comeback for that, but he's right.
The Democrats are a party of sheep.
We didn't want to win, we just wanted to make nice and
please Mr. Rove.
We didn't want the rightful winner, we wanted our Thanksgiving
holiday.
We didn't want to fight for victory, we wanted to be ladies
and gentlemen about the whole thing.
By contrast, the Republicans wanted to win - that's all
it took.
4. All of this Nader bashing by the same democrats
who are supposed to be the opposition
is laughable. I guess it is
like a kid who doesn't have the balls to stand up the bully, so he
becomes a bully himself and
pushes around the littlest kid on the block.
I guess that beats taking
a risk by fighting the Smirk, eh?
No, that's your guilt.
YOU helped the boy king get appointed.
Even if Gore ran a shit campaign and the Democrats
were too scared to fight,
you can't minimize the 90,000 Nader votes in Florida.
Nothing can change the fact that the Greens put
Bush in the White House.
Nothing.
5. I never knew that you democrats were so anti-democratic.
I guess I didn't get the party memo
forbidding me ever voting
for the candidate of my choice. A million apologies, comrade Stalin!
Please let me redeem myself
by voting for the party apparatchik of YOUR choice next time around!
My God! I don't know what
I was thinking!
What inexcusable behavior
on my part! I had forgotten that being an American meant that I had to
dutifully vote for a democrat
or a republican, as all loyal Americans must! Never again shall I
foolishly think that "freedom"
means "freedom"! Thank God for the guardians of the State, like you,
who will guide me on the true
path of freedom and obedience! Hail, Oh Great One!
What's wrong with you?
You had every right to put Bush in the White House.
It's your refusal to accept the facts that we're
pissed about.
You have every right to give Bush a second term,
too, but we wish you wouldn't.
By the way, I'm not a violent person, but if you
were male, and said that paragraph 5 to me,
I would strike you repeatedly.
In conclusion, buzz off. You
should think about what you are saying.
After getting all of this
stupid hate mail from democrat jerks, there is no chance I will ever vote
for any member of your chicken-shit
party ever again.
Again, you have the right to give Bush a second term.
Just don't come whining to us when Bush destroys
the environment, Mr Green.
