Glaxo
to pay $750M Fine
They've been selling fake
drugs for years

GlaxoSmithKline Plc has agreed to
pay $750 million and plead guilty to manufacturing and distributing
adulterated drugs from a now closed plant in Puerto Rico, the US
Justice Department said on Tuesday.
The company had said in July it reached an agreement in principle
relating to quality problems at its
SB Pharmo Puerto Rico Inc's plant and would pay about $750 million to
resolve the allegations.
Of the $750 million, Glaxo will pay $600 million to settle allegations
that, because the drugs were
adulterated, false claims for reimbursement were submitted to
government healthcare programs.
The drugs -- the anti-nausea medicine Kytril, skin ointment Bactroban,
anti-depressant Paxil CR
and diabetes drug Avandamet -- were made at the plant between 2001 and
2005.
The company was accused of failing to ensure the drugs were properly
manufactured at the plant
and thus effective, according to the Justice Department.
<>But nobody goes to jail for this
almost billion dollar fraud?
Let me guess: Glaxo promised the Justice Department they wouldn't do it
again and Obama
would rather "look forward" rather than holding them accountable for
their crimes?.
This Justice Department has a sign on their door that says,
"You'd
better not let us catch you committing the same crime three times."

How long is that BP investigation going to take - ten
years?
And in 2020, they'll issue a report that says, "Mistakes were made?"
<>Giving out "adulterated" drugs to sick people SHOULD be a
major felony,
but Eric Holder is busy going after medicinal marijuana users, instead.
...and Obama wants to know why his army Left him?
