Roman Polanski - off the hook?

Oscar-winning film director Roman Polanski will not be extradited to the United States to face sentencing
for having sex with a 13-year-old girl more than 30 years ago, Swiss authorities announced Monday.
The Swiss Federal Department of Justice and Police said a flaw in the U.S. extradition request could not
be ruled out and that Polanski, who maintains a vacation home in Switzerland, could reliably expect not
to be arrested and deported since the U.S. knew of his frequent presence there over the last few years but never acted on it.
Polanski, 76, has already been released from house arrest, the justice department said.
The announcement was a dramatic development in a case that has lasted more than 30 years.
In 1978, Polanski fled the U.S. hours before he was to be sentenced for having unlawful sex with a minor.
Since I'm sane and not a high-ranking Catholic, I'm against child rape.
But I don't have a strong opinion on this because I don't have the facts.
The case is so emotionally charged, everyone puts their opinions in the "facts"
and that muddles the story so who knows what the truth is?
Obama seems to have made Polanski's punishment a high priority,
or maybe it's just America's insistence on being the world's police.
America, even with Obama in charge, is still the world's biggest bully.
Of course, anyone who thinks this matter should be dropped is "pro-rape,"
but one of the "facts" I've heard is the original trial judge was leaning towards
probation all those years ago, which makes stalking Polanski in 2010 seem odd.
Is the state of California the complaintant?
They say the victim wants the whole case dropped - anybody listening to her?
I also read that there are only three countries where Polanski can go and not be arrested.
My mail has been mostly pro-Polanski, even from the women, but there's nothing our
whore media likes better than a drugged-her-and-raped-her story, so the story lives on.
