<>Astrocat's
Pictures of the Day>
Went out early as auroral activity
had been very strong all afternoon and caught the tail end
of the big wave when it started getting dark at 11 p.m. Things quieted
down and the clouds
set in so I took a nap and woke up and was about ready to call it a
night when the clouds
parted and the lights came out strong at 2:40 .am., it was fast and
furious and all over by 3.
They were so bright that at one
point I went from using 15, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3.2 second exposures
all the down to 2 seconds and was still getting washed out images.
