Today's Amazing Astrocat photo...
Woke up to gray skies and cold blustery
winds and did not have high hopes for favorable eclipse viewing weather
but the clouds slowly burned off and it turned into a bright sunny
clear afternoon. Drove out to nearby Lake Maria
State Park about 7p.m. for what turned out to be a gorgeous sunset
eclipse. Was fortunate enough to also be treated
to a wonderful evening song recital by two loons who swam over near the
dock. A magnificent evening!
Had
never tried to photograph a solar event before, wasn't really prepared,
didn't have any filters,
so I just experimented with different settings hoping for the best.
Managed to get these eclipse images
using the slowest ISO, the highest f stop and the fastest shutter
speed.
Pelicans
and loons
Astrocat, you do great
work!
