Subject: protector of women?
Hi Bart.
Now I have sent stuff to you on my views a few
times, but I really think you are too self absorbed.
WHO CARES who you want to fuck. Honestly it just
sounds like another day for any woman
having to listen to the endless sex drivel of
some shriveled ( i could be wrong) old man.
It would be nice to read comments from a man
showing some sembilence of equality.
But I'm personally not holding my breath. And
the whole calling everyone a whore thing is really
a little stupid. But go ahead i will read, as
always to gleen the little bit that I personally find interesting.
This may come as a surprise to you but men like
you don't have a clue as to what women think,
and I'm also certain that you don't care. But
fair is fair, cause i don't give a rats ass what your
stupid opinion is , cause I have my own stupid
opinion. Still like your site, but your view on women
is the same old same old. You, being a white
man, I presume, don't have a clue as to how it feels
to be talked about (in the media), and treated
as SECOND CLASS. You are so fucked up,
on one hand you say she's a babe, show us your
tits...blah blah and then you turn around and
call people whore, whore. Is it the old madonna/whore
complex you spout.
You could get some help or medication you know.......
Love ya,
Midge
Midge,
I keep re-reading your note - looking for something
to respond to.
Does your note have a central theme or a specific
complaint?
I noticed you failed to address my central theme.
> If I'm wrong - explain Tom Cruise to me.
Since a no-talent hack like Tom Cruise is Hollywood's
top draw, that proves
society agrees with my theory that people, (women,
in this case) think "sex"
when determining where to spend their entertainment
dollar.
If there are two movies on TV, one starring Willem
Defoe and one starring Tom Cruise,
you would watch the Tom Cruise movie even
tho Defoe has twenty times the talent.
You seem angry that I pointed out that fact.
I realize I asked for this debate, but really
- accusing me of making this page
"about who I want to fuck," when you, presumably,
make the same kinds of
entertainment decisons I do would seem to reveal
something about you.
I think you wrote more insults directed at me
and men
than I have about women in the last seven hundred
issues.

Hi BartCop -
Good site. I appreciate politically critical
satire.
If you're interested in why someone would say
your site
may not appeal to feminists, here is the reason:
You insinuate that just because a woman takes
off her clothes (doc laura) she is a slut or a whore.
Just those two words alone will turn off any
feminist. So, I hate doc laura as much as the next person,
but calling her a slut displays an antagonistic
attitude toward sexually active women (or ones that take
their clothes off in front of a camera).
jeff
Wow!
I had no idea I was so totally ineffective at
making my point.
Laura Schlessinger is not "some
woman who took off her clothes."
There are twelve naked pictures of Laura, but
there are more than 12,000 naked pictures
of Pamela Anderson - have I ever called Anderson
a slut or a whore? I don't think so.
The evidence seems to indicate it's not the clothes
shedding that's the problem.
I'm so flabbergasted, I'm at a loss for words.
I'm more shocked by my ineffectiveness than I
was when "Donna" at
the DNC promised me the DNC does not get
involved with fund-raisers.
I blame the Catholics...

Subject: women's opinions
Okay, You asked for it. Generally I think that
you are very respectful of women.
Your stand about Susan Mc Dougal and Julie Hiatt
Steele are right on the mark.
Everything you've said about dr. Laura are perfectly
true. However the mark of a
good actress is not whether or not you are attracted
to her, it is kind of like so
many people being attracted to gw bush but does
that make him a good president?
NO , they were just fooled by the illusion and
fascade. Actresses have hairdressers
and make up artists and good lighting. bush has
handlers and "advisers" to make him
look good but it is the performance and substance
that counts.
IT IS WHETHER OR NOT SOMEONE CAN DO THE JOB.
If you are thinking about her body you are not
very involved in the story.
If you believe the press you will never see the
man behind the curtain.
I am losing faith in my ability to make a point.
Let me try my central theme question on you:
Between a Willem Dafoe movie and a Tom Cruise movie,
I'll bet you would stand in the cold, cold wind to buy Cruise tickets,
even if there was no line at all for the new Willem Dafoe movie.
That doesn't make you a bad person, but it proves my point.
Beauty is a draw.
It may be illogical, but arguing with that fact proves ...what?

Hey, BC
first.....fem·i·nism (fèm¹e-nîz´em)
noun
1. Belief in the
social, political, and economic equality of the sexes.
2. The movement
organized around this belief.
from all I read at your site, you support the idea/belief, oui?
You bet, but I'd rather watch Halle Berry do a love scene than Tom Arnold.
If that makes me an enemy to women, I must confess.
Now, am I offended or upset with what you have
on your site (as it relates to women)?
Mostly, nah. I'm a pretty old fartress myself
so I can tell the difference between joshing and deliberate.
I admit, I can do without so much female skin
but that's my own thing and I don't take it personally.
You could add a few good looking men (and for
me, that does NOT mean Tom Cruise.
ha ha
It means someone with character and panache...like
Robert Redford), but as you say, it's your site.
When I construct my own site, it will probably
have fewer almost-nude women and more pictures
of women I admire, like Helen Thomas or Molly
Ivens or Ann Richards or Barbara Jordan (and JHS, for sure).
Fabulous bodies they ain't, but they are damn
fine looking women any way you slice it. I will also have
pictures of men, too. Perhaps even a few good
looking men. ;-) That just won't be the only criterion.
(and I hope this doesn't imply that is YOUR only
criterion, I don't mean that at all)
Part of the trouble is...we are still a society
that "objectifies" a woman. (I'm not sure that's a word
but you know what I mean). Here in Norman, a
young man just shot his girlfriend to death because
she wanted him to move out. Leaving the ease
with which he was able to get a gun aside for a moment,
what does it say about a society where this kid
felt he had to SHOOT her rather than have to move out?
Or where police have to be TRAINED to recognize
domestic abuse and deal with it (instead of what
they have been doing...which is ignoring it or
thinking it's no big deal). I understand it's *human* nature,
but that doesn't make it right and that doesn't
mean we shouldn't try to change it.
Any society that has little girls looking up to Britney Spears is a scary society, at least imnsho.
In a perfect world, the nude body would be just
that...a nude body, no big deal.
And women would be equals on every level.
And we'd both be rich. <g>

Sarah, ...excluding the Laura pictures, is there really "skin" on bartcop.com?

Subject: You do not offend smart women
Some women have never been around men who truly
LIKE THEM. So they take
offense when the a male shows off a collection
of great photos. These women just
need some time to realize THEY TOO are well liked
and appreciated.
You have actually seemed to realize that some
are offended by harsh language -- which is nice.
What you do is PERFECT!
Those who complain would not have liked your stuff anyway.

Subject: question re content that insults women
hi bc,
well, here are some initial thoughts on your question
if there's anything on your site that insults women...
first, i'm not offended by the dr. laura pics
because she is a sanctimonious jerk.
i was a little bit offended by the linked site
with the photos of nekkid women with the president bunnypants head;
no real political message there, just an excuse
to look at nekkid women. i think the real damage there was done
to all those hetero guys that probably tried
to gouge their eyes out after seeing that.
<snip>
rain cat
Rain, thanks for that, but you're confusing me.
You might argue that this picture is obscene,
but do you really see nudity there?
