The Feb. 14, 2000 issue of Newsweek included a rare
mention of board games -- on page 6 in the "Periscope" section of the magazine.
According to Newsweek, a new game from talk radio host Dr. Laura
Schlessinger is available. "Eighteen million people allign their moral
compass with combative radio talk-show host ... Schlessinger," the magazine
wrote.
"Her new game lets you play backseat buttinsky
on matters of money, marriage, relationships, parenting
-- and whether or not 'this creep
is planning to steal the kids, too, or just
abandon them.'"
Judging from that description, give me Scruples
any day.
Although the "Periscope" blurb didn't mention what company is releasing
the game, the small photo they ran of the game box seems to have the Hasbro
logo on it. However, Hasbro's Web site doesn't seem to mention the game.
(Ediotr's Note: This is true. Hasbro must be too ashamed.)
