 Subject: Bugger the GOP

Well, Bartcop, here I am again - the old broad, a born-again Democrat,
who for over 50 years of my life lived, breathed and sucked up big time to
the Repub philosophy of life in these here United States  of "Merica.

You must forgive me - I was born in Illinois, home of Abe Lincoln,
George Ryan (although he has at least called this moratorium on executions),
Denny Hastert, Al Capone, Henry Hyde (gag, retch), and live only 30 miles
from the home stamping grounds of (jeez!) Ronnie Reagan, Dixon, IL, where
my in-laws now reside (they are in their 90s, senile, and think he should be
up for beatification, except that they hate Catholics). I must admit, I voted
for ol 'Ron in 1984, before I became born-again.

You wanna know what caused me to do a 180 on the Repubs?
Well, it was the 1994 when I saw Newt (another name for an eft, or salamander)
and some other dick head doing high-fives over winning the majority of some such shit,
and being able to remove food, medicine and other necessary sustenance from the
mouths of poor children. My own granddaughter is one of those now suffering
because they have discontinued her medicare supplemental check (a mere pittance).

She is now only 6 years old and has severe asthma, causing frequent trips to the
emergency room, and has lost her monthly check which helped out with medicine,
food, etc. As I mentioned, I am an old broad (63) - I have a passel of grandchildren
and can't help them with  finances.

I voted for Bill in 1986, and would vote again for him were it possible.
If sex in the White House is such a big issue, how can the comparitively sane forget
Dwight Eisenhower and Kay Summersby? She was his paramour while he served
in the army and it didn't stop when he became president.

Or FDR? I hate to defame a Demorocat, but he was with his mistress when he died
 - Eleanor was probably devastated. Or can we forget JFK? Or LBJ?
Or Richard Milhaus Nixon? Or let's go back and pick apart any one of the men who
have been president - infidelity was expected - and overlooked. And it was not
spewed all over the newspapers, out of deference to the man's family, not so
much to protect him. Why can't the media respect the office of the president,
if  not the man? I, for one, don't give a damn who the president is fucking -
that's  between him and his spouse - keep it out of the news!

It was ALWAYS kept out in the past (and don't think the Shrub's ol' man wasn't guilty also),
and Ronnie, and Gerald, and on and on and on.

Well, were I DesCartes, I would say, "I rant, therefore, I am."

 Sue Giffrow

 Sue, well put!
I can't disagree with any of what you said.
Good luck to you and your grandkids.
I'll bet they love their Grammie!
