My Brush with Greatness
Back in the late 80’s,
I went to a small club in NYC (The China Club) to see a friend’s jazz
trio play.
It was a trendy bar and that night, in
the crowd, were Mickey Rourke, David
Bowie,
Steve Winwood, Ronnie Wood, and
Iggy Pop. Sure enough, after my friend’s set,
they all climbed the stage for an impromptu jam session.
I was so close that I kept tilting the
microphone stand towards Steve W.,
while shouting “play Gimme Some Lovin’!”
He did.
I have an article by Pablo Guzman, as
posted in the NY Daily News a few weeks later to prove it!!!
