My Brush with Greatness
Hi Bart:
My brush with greatness, I've had a few, but a recent example means an
awful lot to me.
I am a teacher, and I teach a summer
class called "Packermanaia."
Through that class, I came to know Chester Marcol, a retired Packer
kicker.
He has had serious problems with addictions, and depression.
I put him in contact with Gary D'Amato,
a beat writer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Anyway, as a result of that contact, a book was written, called "Alive
And Kicking."
My association with Chester and Gary is
not political, but it took years before Mr. Marcol
was ready to have this book done, and for some reason, I am the one who
convinced him to do it.
My name is mentioned in the introduction, and so is my school.
This book was written so that
those that struggle with addictions and depression can find some hope
in Chester's story.
Also, I am a top 10 finalist for the Packer Fan Hall Of Fame.
