My Brush with Infamy
Hey Bart,
A
few weeks ago you posted my list of my top ten brushes with greatness
that I met
while working for U.S. Customs at a major west coast airport.
This
is what I would like to call my Brush with Infamy:
I was the floor supervisor during several international flights, when I
noticed a familiar face at the
examination line. I immediately walked over to observe the
baggage examination of Spiro Agnew,
the former vice-president under Richard Nixon, who resigned in disgrace
after corruption charges
while he was Governor of Maryland. He had very little to say, but
had a very smug, arrogant look on his face.
Over the years I crossed paths with all kinds of criminals, from petty
thieves to organized crime bosses,
including the former owner of the Mustang Ranch Brothel, but no one was
as cold as Spiro Agnew.
