My Brush with Greatness
I was playing music in
the hallway of a hotel in downtown Clayton, MO.
I can't remember what the event was for, but we played, squeezed into a
dinky little corner with our trio of saxophone, guitar and standup
bass.
I was singing "Our Love Is Here To Stay" when Ozzie Smith came around
the corner.
I was in the middle of singing the verse when he passed, paused, looked
me right in the eye,
and SANG ALONG WITH ME as he passed.
