Subject: Jane Fonda (The Truth)
Several days ago, I saw Barbara Walters of
20/20 drool great drops of
honey, as she interviewed Jane Fonda.
It was sickeningly obvious that
Barbara Walters had great admiration for Jane
Fonda. Barbara Walters did
not ask Jane anything about her crimes against
the United States of America.
Jane Fonda, to my knowledge, has never committed a 'crime against America.'
There certainly is no evidence of any crime, and some of us
think evidence counts.
Barbara did ask Jane why she divorced Ted Turner.
Her answer certainly and
forever laid to rest the media myth that Jane
had become a Christian.
If that's true, you have a big argument with Rush Limbaugh.
He praised Jane Fonda on his show last week (yes, I heard it myself)
but he only did it
so he could attack Ted Turner, whom I assume he sees as the bigger
threat.
She divorced Ted in order to resume her lifestyle
as a low life liberated
female human species. I cannot bring
myself to call her a woman.
Now, you're getting into Freeper territory. You're
free to dislike Fonda all you want,
but your potentially-valid points won't fly if
you sound like a right-wing handjob.
Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the "100
Women of the Century." Unfortunately many
have forgotten and still countless others
have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only
the idea of our country but specific men who
served and sacrificed during Vietnam.
Part of my conviction comes from personal
exposure to those who suffered her
attentions.
Excuse me, but if you served in Vietnam, you've got a better
claim on this attitude.
If you heard a story from a guy who says he knew a guy who's friend
was there,
you need to knock off the "personal exposure" stuff.
The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot.
The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.
In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF
Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison
- the "Hanoi Hilton." Dragged from a stinking
cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJs,
he was ordered to describe for a visiting
American "Peace Activist" the "lenient and humane treatment"
he'd received. He spat at Ms. Fonda,
was clubbed, and dragged away. During the subsequent beating,
he fell forward upon the camp commandant's
feet, which sent that officer berserk.
In '78, the AF Col. still suffered from double
vision (which permanently ended his flying days)
from the Vietnamese Col.'s frenzied application
of a wooden baton.
>From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was
in the 47FW/DO (F-4Es).
He spent 6 years in the "Hilton"- the first
three of which he was "missing in action".
His wife lived on faith that he was still
alive.
His group, too, got the cleaned/fed/clothed
routine in preparation for a "peace delegation" visit.
They, however, had time and devised a plan
to get word to the world that they still survived.
Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with
his SSN on it, in the palm of his hand.
When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman,
she walked the line, shaking each man's hand
and asking little encouraging snippets like:
"Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?"
and aren't you grateful for the humane treatment
from your benevolent captors?"
I don't believe that for a second.
I also find it very suspicious these accounts come without e-mail addresses
attached.
This has Freeper written all over it.
This is horseshit.
Believing this HAD to be an act, they each
palmed her their sliver of paper.
She took them all without missing a beat.
At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling,
to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she
turned to the officer in charge.....and handed him the little
pile of papers. Three men died from the subsequent
beatings Col.Carrigan was almost number four
but he survived, which is the only reason
we know about her actions that day.
Did Paul Harvey just enter the room? I smell a pile of horseshit.
This is an extremely inflammatory story, but where are the names?
"Three men died" but we don't have their names?
I was a civilian economic development advisor
in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese
communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held
for over 5 years. I spent 27 months in solitary confinement,
one year in a cage in Cambodia, and one year
in a black box" in Hanoi. My North Vietnamese captors
deliberately poisoned and murdered a female
missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Ban Me Thuot,
South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle
near the Cambodian border. At one time, I weighed 90 lbs.
(My normal weight is 170 lbs.) We were Jane
Fonda's "war criminals." When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi,
I was asked by the camp communist political
officer if I would be willing to meet with Jane Fonda.
I said yes, for I would like to tell her about
the real treatment we POWs were receiving, which was
far different from the treatment purported
by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by Jane Fonda,
as humane and lenient. Because of this,
I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees with
outstretched arms with a large amount of steel
placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane
till my arms dripped blood.
Nobody doubts American POWs were horribly mistreated in Vietnam, but
this is a very lame Freeper attempt
to (demonize seems too tame of a word) dehumanize "liberal"
Jane Fonda and reflect that shame on the voters
who chose Al Gore. (The majority) This is an attempt by pro-Smirk
forces to legitimize his presidency.
I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda
for a couple of hours after I was released.
I asked her if she would be willing to debate
me on TV.
She did not answer me.
This does not exemplify someone who should
be honored as part of "100 Years of Great Women."
Lest we forget..."100 years of great women"
should never include a traitor whose hands are covered
with the blood of so many patriots. There
are few things I have strong visceral reactions to,
but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant
treason, is one of them.
Please take the time to forward to as many
people as you possibly can.
It will eventually end up on her computer
and she needs to know that we will never forget.

If having Jane Fonda named one of the woman
of the century bothers you
as much as it does me, then mail this to everyone
on your list.
Every Senator, member of Congress and all
news media ought to receive this message.
The idiot who fabricated this letter made a hueueueuge
mistake.
(By the way, remember that phony 'Clinton body
count' supposedly written by Janet Reno?
This could easy be from the same hoaxster,
because of the white-hot glaring mistakes.)
The biggest mistake this Freeper made was giving
out the phone number.
I was willing to bet this was made-up horseshit,
so I called "Skip."
I was going to be very polite and ask him why,
if this is true, we didn't get e-mail addresses
and names of the dead so they could be verified.
Well, apparently Skip's phone has been ringing
off the wall. He has a recorded message saying,
"If you're calling about the e-mail that's
going around, it's false and I didn't write it."
He gives out an e-mail address so the caller can
get the truth.
I have requested his reply, I'm sure it will
come in a day or two.
Got this off a web
site
In particular, before giving credence to
any stories involving the POWs, whether connected
to any event, sytem of treatment, or to
any individual such as Hanoi Jane, you should read the following:
From: Mike McGrath
Subject: Fonda, Ted Guy, John McCain, false stories...
(1) There is a bogus story floating around about Larry Carrigan, Jane Fonda,
torture of
POWs, death of POWs, strips of paper, notes given to Jane, etc. I just
thought you should
know that this is all bull crap propagated by someone for some unknown
purpose....probably to bolster some hate against the traitorous witch.
I'm not defending her,
we all hate her as much as the next person, but you need to get your stories
straight. Jerry
Driscoll is my Secretary/Treasurer. I just talked to him. Same for A.J.
Myers. They had
nothing to do with the article attributed to them. They ask that we get
their names off that
bunch of crap.
Tonight I talked with Larry Carrigan. He asked that we get his name off
all that crap as well.
He never left a room to talk to anyone like that. No torture or beatings
to see Fonda.
He was living with Bud Day, John McCain and a bunch of hard nosed resistors
during the Fonda visit...lots of witnesses if you want to question him
(or them). Larry was
never near Jane. There were never any POWs killed on account of Jane. (Did
anyone ever
provide a name of one of these tortured fellows?) That story about the
notes has a nice
theatric touch, but no such thing ever happened. The only ones who met
with Jane willingly,
to my knowledge, were CDR Gene Wilber and LCOL Ed Miller. One NAM-POW was
forced to go before the Fonda delegation. And I think that was only to
sit at a table for a
photo opportunity. I doubt he even got a chance to talk to her let alone
slip her a note. To
my knowledge, the worst that happened to the rest of us was that we had
to listen to the
camp radio (Radio Hanoi and Hanoi Hannah) with the Fonda propaganda. It
pissed us off,
but I doubt you can call that "torture."
So, if you get a chance to SHUT THIS STORY DOWN to the groups who are forwarding
it,
PLEASE DO SO. You can cut and paste this paragraph is you want to.
Doubters can come to me if they need to.
Mike McGrath,
President of NAM-POWs. POW 30 June 67 to 4 march 73.
Jane Fonda's "crimes" were "frolicking and posing" with the enemy.
This was a mistake of monsterous proportions, and she's admitted
that.

Excerpt: (the
harshest thing she said)
As I left the United States two weeks ago,
Nixon was again telling the American people
that he was winding down the war, but in the
rubble-strewn streets of Nam Dinh,
his words echoed with sinister (words indistinct)
of a true killer. And like the young
Vietnamese woman I held in my arms clinging
to me tightly - and I pressed my cheek
against hers - I thought, this is a war against
Vietnam perhaps, but the tragedy is America's.
Thirty years later, those words seem more benign that the untrue story
you just read
about turning those pieces of paper over to the NV commandant.
How did she feel, years later?
Barbara Walters:
"There are still people who . . . I guess
feel you have never apologized.
Would you like to just say something to them
now?"
Jane Fonda:
"I would like to say something not just to
the Vietnam veterans in New England but
to men who were in Vietnam who I hurt,
or who's pain I caused to deepen because
of things I said or did. I feel that
I owe them an apology . . . my intentions were never to hurt them
or to make their situation worse, it
was the contrary. I was trying to help end the war,
but there were times when I was thoughtless
and careless about it and I am very sorry,
that I hurt them, and I want to apologize
to them and to their families . . . "
But if you're honest, and you compare what Jane Fonda did to what Ollie
North did,
Jane Fonda committed no crimes. We can't say the same about Reagan
and Bush.
When Bush pardoned Reagan's team of criminals to prevent the truth from
coming out,
we have no choice but to assmue that truth would've been so shocking
and so damaging
and so injurious to the reputation of Saint Reagan, Bush
had
to do pardon those men,
even if it cost him the White House.
Compare the secret selling of sophisticated weapons to the enemy to
"frolicking and posing" with the enemy.
Did Jane Fonda deliver two planeloads of Stinger missles to North Vietnam?
Then stonewall an investigation, then lie about it under oath?
I'm not excusing anything Jane Fonda did..
But we have no idea what Bush was hiding and buring forever when he
pardoned
the people who were about to tell America what Reagan and Bush had
done.
Remember this: If they have to lie about what Jane Fonda
did,
that's proof that the truth would not sufficiently outrage
you.
But you can bet Bush's buried truth would be the biggest outrage
of the last fifty years.
