The NFL’s worst nightmare
Imagine we’re getting down to the AFC and NFC Title games and it turns out that the highest remaining seeded teams are the New York Jets and New York Giants, this isn’t a very far off prospect. The Giants are running away with the NFC and will most likely be the #1 seed going into the playoffs, the Jets are looking like they could run the table against a soft schedule and get the #2 seed in the AFC. All we need is for The Unbeatable Titans (I will ignore reality till they are bounced from the playoffs) to lose their first playoff game and then suddenly the NFL is faced with a horrible situation, that being both home teams for the conference championship games having the same home field. You can’t play back-to-back games on the same field since the turf will be chewed up, so most likely the NFL will be stuck holding one game on a Saturday and one on a Sunday. Then both the AFC and NFC sides will be fighting tooth and nail to get the Saturday game, since any advantage at that time of the season is vital, getting 24 hours more rest then your opponent for the Super Bowl would clearly be something both sides would seek.
So rest assured the NFL higher-ups will be rooting for the Titans to hold serve or for a New York Team to shockingly blow their first playoff game. The double dip at Giant’s Stadium is something nobody wants to deal with.
OBAMA WILL LIVE
As I read Bartcop, I enjoy my daily ‘somebody is going to shoot that poor guy’ E-mail to Bart. I understand everyone’s fear about Obama and his possible assassination, but I think it’s a bit overblown. The people we’re talking about going after Obama are idiot racists and other sorts of dead-enders. With security being what it is for Obama, I truly doubt that anyone of that ilk is going to get off a clean shot at him. I mean, think about what happened in the last series of major assassination attempts.
All of this is according to what the government says happened, believe them at your own peril
JFK- A moron goes to work with his rifle in pieces, goes up to the 6th floor of his building, hides behind some boxes, puts the rifle together, and then gets off 3 shots at a President riding in an open top limo that’s going less then 15 MPH, killing him with a shot to the head.
RFK- A moron confronts RFK in the kitchen of a hotel and shoots a series of shots at him, hitting him in the head . The autopsy showed the fatal shot to the head was fired at point blank range.
Ford- An idiot pulled a gun on him and was taken down by the Secret Service, another one shot at him from about 40 feet and missed cause a bystander grabbed her arm.
Reagan- An idiot fired a series of shots from about 25 feet at Reagan.
In all these attempts on a President’s life, somebody
was basically able to get a clean shot with a hand gun or in JFK’s case,
have a sitting duck target that could be attacked by a sniper. The amount
of security Obama will have should make any of these events next
to impossible to happen. I think we might get some idiot shooting at the
White House like they did with Clinton, but on the whole I think trying
to assassinate Obama is going to be to daunting a task for some racist
moron with an axe to grind.
