My Brush with Greatness
Bart, In the mid
1970's, I was in the US Navy.
In the spring of 1977, Universal
Studios rented our ship (USS Pigeon) for filming scenes from
a movie called Gray
Lady Down. Several of the film's stars were there,
including Charlton Heston,
Stacy Keatch, David Carradine, Ned Beatty, and Michael O"Keefe.
I spent one whole afternoon with an
actor who was starring in his first movie role.
He was very excited because he had just
been selected to play Superman in a new series of films.
I spent the afternoon explaining the workings of our ship to Christopher Reeve.
He was an extremely nice
man.

Can you believe what God did
to Christopher Reeve's family?
Not
only did He paralyze and then kill Christopher, He gave his wife lung
cancer even tho
she never smoked a day in her life, which left their kids to be
raised by their neighbors.
Way
to go, God.
Your
"Divine Plan" for the Reeve family was similar to the GOP's plans for
the poor.
