Subject: This guy woke me up in the middle of
the night.
I was sound asleep when
I was awakened to loud strange bellowing sounds,
a sort of high pitched whistling accompanied by low pitched
grunts.
Having never heard a bull elk
protecting his harem of females before, I thought,
what in heaven's name is that? At least he was kind enough to come back
this morning
and allow me take photos. I never knew, or imagined, that elk can make
that much noise!
