Subject: William Kristol today in the NY Times...

..is salivating at the thought of Obama taking out Clinton
so they don't have to try to do it in the general election.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/11/opinion/11kristol.html?hp

They've gone after Hillary for 15 years so there's nothing left to dredge up,
but Obama is fresh meat.  There is so much they can use against him,
especially as he has positioned himself as being just this side of sainthood:

1.  Exelon
http://www.baltimoresun.com/business/bal-bz.hancock25jan25,0,4656523.column

Tthe Exelon-Obama link is especially strong. Exelon employees
and others close to the company have given almost $195,000 to Obama,

2.  Mediocre record as US Senator.  All the missed votes, the lack of leadership.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/11/02/obama.missed.votes/index.html

3.  All the "present" votes in the Illinois Senate as well as the six votes where he "accidentally" voted incorrectly  http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-obamavotes24jan24,0,713086.story   to avoid taking sides

3.  Stepping on Alice Palmer to get his first public office
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-070403obama-ballot,0,1843097.story

Operatives for Barack Obama began the tedious process of challenging hundreds of signatures
on the nominating petitions of state Sen. Alice Palmer, the longtime progressive activist from the
city's South Side. And they kept challenging petitions until every one of Obama's four Democratic
primary rivals was forced off the ballot.

4.  Rezko, especially Obama's below market personal real estate deals with him
http://www.suntimes.com/news/politics/124171,CST-NWS-obama05.article

Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for a strip of his land.  The transaction occurred at a time
when it was widely known Tony Rezko was under investigation by U.S. Attorney Patrick
Fitzgerald and as other Illinois politicians befriended by Rezko distanced themselves from him.

In the Sun-Times interview, Obama acknowledged approaching Rezko about the properties
being up for sale and that Rezko developed an immediate interest. Obama did not explain why
he reached out to Rezko given the developer's growing problems.
Last month, Rezko was indicted.

5.  The doctrine of his church
http://sweetness-light.com/archive/barack-obamas-church-ultra-left-and-afrocentric

6.  His "fairy tale" opposition to the war given he voted to fund it
for two years and hardly mentioned it once he got the US Senate seat
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2007/03/22/obama_defends_votes_in_favor_of_iraq_funding/

"I have been very clear even as a candidate that, once we were in, that we were
going to have some responsibility to make (Bush's War) work as best we could..."

7.  Cocaine
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/02/AR2007010201359_pf.html

8.  Maureen Dowd nicknaming him "Obambi"
http://donkeyod.wordpress.com/2006/12/12/will-hillzilla-crush-obambi/

9.  His middle name

10.  Sadly, race, but look how they slimed one of their own, McCain, in South Carolina in 2000.

This is just stuff that can be pulled together in minutes.
They will leave no stone unturned to find anything else they can.
And anytime Barack uses that Cheney/Rumsfeld/experience meme,
the converse is the Bush/no experience example.

This Obama wave is celebrity culture infecting politics.
I wish his supporters were paying more attention.

Yea, the guy reads a script well off a teleprompter,
but I wish there was more to him.
It's going to get very interesting.
