Update
Sunday night, NBC was showing clips from the "Pockets" West Wing, saying to be sure
to tune in next Wednesday for the premier. So if NBC was any kind a decent company,
and not a next of lying, thieving opportunistic vipers, (cough) they're telling the truth about
replaying television's finest hour this Wednesday night.

West Wing
The Administration prepares for the storm of its life.  Indeed, a tropical storm
is bearing down on Washington on the day the President is to disclose that he
has MS and has been lying about it for eight years. (repeat)

Every TV season, the networks provide TV Guide with two sets of story outlines
 - one for the first run, and a different set to describe the reruns so you're never sure
if you've seen the show before.  It's a cheap trick.

But this next episode looks like what I call the "Pockets" episode.
Even if you've never seen West Wing, this is the episode you must see.

This episode wrapped up the second season of the best show on television.
(The Sopranos and West Wing have shared the "best show" title for a while,
but until The Sopranos can steal it back, the title rests with West Wing)

So, not only is West Wing the best show on television - for my money - it's the
best show in the history of television, out-classing other great shows like ER in its prime,
Hill Street Blues, LA Law, Homicide and even The Sopranos.)

...and this is the best episode of the best dramatic series ever, even better than the
heart-pounding "Bartlet's Been Shot" episode that opened their second season..

If you think you're busy Wednesday, trust me - this is better than what you have planned.
Like all great acting, the best acting in this episode is done without words.
It's can't-miss TV if there's ever been such a thing.

Of course, since the networks love to play the whore and jack us around, this could
be the second-last episode, but we should get confirmation before Wednesday.

 Sidebar:

Playboy: Aaron, do you get ideas for scripts from the front page of the newspaper?

Sorkin:  Not necessarily. I will often go on long drives before I write.
The music in my car is the same music I listened to ten years ago.
It's not uncommon for me to hear a song in my car and it will make me feel a certain way.
That's what happened with the final episode of the second season.
I listened to Dire Straits' Bothers in Arms and wanted to write something that felt that way.

Holy Koresh, Aaron, you did good...
