Ya need that BIG PR BREAK.
Mentioned by a syndicated columnist or point of interest on some TV
thing.
When I began the hardcopy NL it was 1993 and I was sending it to Molly
Ivins. I read a piece
by Chicago's Royko who plugged the FLUSH RUSH newsletter. I had talked
to the FR guy
and called him and his circulation went from 500, to 10,000 in a month.
So I pestered Royko and didnt get anywhere. Then I read a article by
Ivins and it is
full plagiarism of one of the articles in my NL I had just sent
her days before.
I like Molly a lot, so I had to figure what to do. SO I called her and
tried to get her to pay me back
by giving me a blurb. No. So I couldn't really say
anything so I didnt. But then no shit,
Walter Cronkite called me. I thought it was a joke. He mentioned Molly
and wanted the video
I had transcribed the words to of a recent 700 Club and then give me
credit in the credits.
He was doing a Discovery documentary on the religious right. I didn't
have it. Molly did it agian to me
about 2 months later with a Rush article, completely paraphrased from
me. I tried again and got nowhere.
But though I don't know for sure the whys and wherefores, she was in
trouble right after that with her
colleagues for copying some damn thing. Anyway, long story hehe...
With no ending. :)
Here's a recent rant:
Beerbrains!?-
1/18/01
Dick Cheney (a Vietnam War supporter who sought and was awarded a
deferment so
not to have to go himself) is having an inauguration party titled
"Salute to Veterans"!
It will be hosted by Gerald McRaney (Major Dad, a Vietnam War supporter
who sought
and was awarded a deferment so not to have to go himself). Featuring
Tom Selleck
(a Vietnam War supporter who sought and was awarded National Guard
duty so not to
have to go himself). Entertainment by family values advocate Lee
Greenwood
(who has been divorced five times and has no link to the military
whatsoever)
will sing God Bless the USA.
Hopes run high over surprise guests; Attorney General John Ashcroft
(a Vietnam
War supporter who sought and was awarded a deferment so not to have
to go himself)
and President George W. Bush (a Vietnam War supporter who sought
and was awarded
National Guard duty so not to have to go himself). There is also
talk of a tribute to John Wayne
(who was the only celebrity of his time to flat out refuse to join
the fight in World War II).
Don't forget that in the last election, veterans preferred George
Bush who avoided the draft,
to Vietnam Veteran Al Gore who promised twice as much money to upgrade
the Military than George Bush.
And this is not to mention there has still been no explaination for
George Bush
deserting his National Guard duty in a time of war, for more than
a year,
Something seems amiss, hey? Way, WAY too much beer being drunk in
America's VFWs.
Trust me on this, been there done that.

Note: Often here I try to discern why conservatives have
been so
successful over the past decade. This article is a prime example. It
hits the
character issue head on, honestly and with enough entertainment value
to gain
copy. But it will not be broadcast to tens of millions of people over
AM radio
day in and day out for weeks, it will not be reprinted in thousands
of
magazines, newsletters and websites. It will not be blackmailed onto
Cable News
networks and the mainstream media, it will not be mentioned by Jay
or David or
read in the Well of Congress. Liberal media bias MFA.??
