HOLIDAY VIEWING!!! Count Down to DUNE
WOW! What do you do? Sit at home, glued to the news shows,
watching as the
noblest man in America gets pummeled by these bought off GOP loving
media snakes?
Or do you – A: Watch the tube, and all the obligatory parades, football
games, marathons
(FX has the only decent one this year: X-Files episodes chosen by the
fans – remember
the endless Twilight Zone ones?) and holiday movies? It’s
a Wonderful Life is on
THANKSGIVING MORNING! Is it me, or is this the earliest NBC has
dared to air this film?
Or do you compete with the holiday shopping scene and everyone else
that wants
to get away from house & family and go to see the latest big screen
releases?
Let’s see…. There’s The Grinch (I am so in love with the original that
this one is
hard for me, in spite of Ron Howard’s direction.) 102 Dalmatians –
Cruela is too
close to Lady Harris Macbeth for my taste right now – or another Arnold
thing?
Let me think…. Uhm, no.
Bounce, Unbreakable, and Quills can wait until next week when the crowds
die down.
OR
Rent films and lie around in a tryptophanic stupor in front of a warm
fire.
I like that idea. I sent my pals in Denver I am going to see,
this wish list of rental suggestions:
GLADIATOR – New release today – lots of great sword action
(ok, so it’s not Highlander, but it’s not bad) and yummy Russell Crowe).
CHICKEN RUN, TOY STORY 2, MI2, THE PATRIOT, RETURN TO ME,
SHANGHAI NOON, THE BIG TEASE, KEEPING THE FAITH, and an older
favorite gem I dearly love, BIG NIGHT (you just can’t watch it if you’re
hungry – you’ll eat the tv.)
Whatever you do be safe, and make sure you get it all done by Sunday.
Hopefully this version if DUNE will do the brilliance of Frank Herbert
some Justice.
(I am so glad I have two VCRs! It should be illegal to run anything
opposite the X-Files.
Do you think Chris Carter will pick up on the election conspiracy?)
I just want to see the GOP payroll list. Think there’s enough paper on the planet?
