I read a story the other day.

 They say this picture...

...is one of the most reproduced photographs in history.

The story I read said these firemen found the flag in the rubble, and were ordered to vacate
the area, because it wasn't safe - giant sections of the WTC were still falling and sliding that day,
but the firemen ignored those orders to raise this flag to boost the morale of their buddies.
The article also told, for the first time, where the flag came from.

They said it came from a yacht docked on the Hudson next to the World Trade Center.
When I heard the yacht story, something clicked in my head.

Remember our trip to New York in May?
 (See Volumes 476-482)

I checked those back issues and found this picture in Volume 478 - Nobody Likes a Thief

This is a screen grab from my video of a yacht docked at the Hudson entrance to the World Trade Center.
It's my best guess that the most famous American flag of the last 50 years came from this boat.

In the article, it said the owners were contacted and they said they didn't want the flag back.
They wanted to donate the flag to history - to a museum, or whatever.

No big ending to this story - I just thought it was spooky...
