There is no way to fix tonight's ova conversation within the timeline
of the
show. That elevator conversation for the most part happened already
in a
San Diego judge's chambers and finished up in Bill Scully's living
room more
than at least 2 seasons ago. If they were going to pull out the
fact that
Mulder kept the damn ova in storage, then do that. We all saw Mulder
take
Scully's ova in one of the eps. We knew he kept it then. It was
Memento
Mori I believe no? But, to write it like it is the first time
Scully is
even hearing about the harvesting was ridiculous not to mention the
quickness of the dialogue, in an elevator, about something so intense
and
important. The reactions and behaviors did not fit with someone who
just
told a big secret nor, to the person hearing news like that.
They just wrote a mess of a story tonight. A story that there
are women carrying
alien babies who then get killed after delivery? Emily's adoptive mother
got
killed when she put up a fight about Emily's treatments. So what.
The story
tonight amounts to nothing more than a Mulder-bone for those of us
who miss
the character. It shed light on nothing. Since apparently the IVF or
whatever Scully tried did not work the story was useless in the regarding
pregnancy-explanation. What was the point again of setting Scully
up to
bring the mother where? how? what? Did they know that Hendershot would
come
somehow to visit Scully? How did Hendershot know to visit Scully?
What?
Baby switch? why? just because? What was the point of Haskell and the
evil
doctors are everywhere scenario? To show that there are new folks carrying
on the conspiracy? duh. Also, the whole coffee shop scene was
unnecessary.
I am with Dogget. Nothing to get out of bed for. This is getting so
lame.
It was only two weeks ago that we were made to endure the soul-eater
timeline problem as it did not fit into the Mulder abduction timeframe
reasonably at all. If I were not so tired I would
get into the 14 weeks
pregnant business but, I just don't have anything left for that one.
Thank you for allowing me my rant.
