Lying Ever Stop?
Humor from Robert Parry at consortiumnews.com
Link
Excerpt:
Having already destroyed the credibility of Colin
Powell, Bush has now eviscerated whatever trust
the world might have placed in Condoleezza Rice.
By sending Colin Powell to the UN to pitch a dubious
- and ultimately bogus - case for war against
Iraq in 2003, Bush unmasked the warrior diplomat as a rank
opportunist who put his career and loyalty to
his superiors ahead of truthfulness and the welfare of American
soldiers. Powell later called the U.N. speech
a "blot" on his record.
Now, Rice has suffered a similar fate, appearing
before European leaders and making assertions that were
known to be lies as they passed her lips.
Rice insisted that "the US does not authorize or condone torture of detainees."
She also asserted that Bush wouldn't ship a detainee
to other countries "for the purpose of interrogation using torture,"
nor to a country "when we believe he will be
tortured."
Since Rice's statements on Dec. 5, many mainstream
American journalists have danced around
the l-word by suggesting that Rice might have
been carefully parsing her words to avoid an outright lie.
What do the words "authorize" and "condone" mean?
What exactly is "torture"?
Is there wiggle room in the phrases "for the
purpose of" and "will be" instead of "may be"?
But it is virtually impossible to ignore the overwhelming
evidence that Bush did order the "gloves off" after 9-11.

Subject: Now we take from old

The United States Supreme Court ruled today the
the government can garnish the Social Security checks
of old disabled people who haven't paid back
their student loans. The decision against a 67 year old Seattle
man who lives in public housing who says he needs
his $874 a month to pay for food and medicine.
It may be legal for America to take money from
a poor old disabled man but that doesn't make it right.
It speaks as to who we are as a nation and a
people and reflects the (lack of) heart of America's soul.

Hey Bart,
I've been following Saddam's trial, and I was
wondering what his defense would be.
Do you think he should call Rummy and Cheney
as character witnesses, seeing as how they
had no problem doing business with him both during
and after the crimes for which he is being tried?
I'd really love to see how the misadministration
and the presstitutes would deal with that!

Suicide Bomber Kills 32, Wounds 44 on Bus
Link
Excerpt:
A suicide bomber detonated explosives Thursday
inside a packed bus killing 32, wounding 44, police said.
The blast pushed the three-day death toll from
suicide attacks in the capital to at least 75.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Army in Iraq claims to
have killed an American hostage.
The suicide attack occurred as the bus was pulling
away from the station. A man carrying a bag jumped
on the bus, apparently waiting until the last
moment to board to avoid security checks.
He was challenged by the conductor but insisted
on taking a seat, police Lt. Wisam Hakim said.
"He sat in the middle of the bus and then the
explosion took place," Hakim said.
.
I wonder - did Baghdad have even one pre-invasion suicide bomber?
The whole country has gone to hell with America "protecting" them from
Saddam.

Hi Bart,
He's going around and getting the facts, and telling
it like it is.
We could DEFINITELY use a man like this in the
White House!
I remember all those Republicans talking about
what a nasty man Milosevic was in Serbia.
Blah blah blah.
Clark went to Den Hague and got up on the stand,
looked that murdering bastard in the eye,
and testified against him. I saw it on
TV. He ran the air war against Serbia that bombed those
bastards until they quit murdering people in
Kosovo.
That's a man who understands war and peace, and
the kind of guy who I'd trust with security
and military matters. Unlike those chickenhawks
like Cheney and Bush in the White House now.

Dear Bartcop, you wrote:

As a former small-town
newspaper reporter, who left the business a decade ago to be able to afford
simple things like cars that run, electricity,
and food, I must protest your broadbrush attack on ALL reporters.
Yes, it is true that corporate mainstream journalism
is generally produced by hacks and whores, but that
does not mean every reporter everywhere is hustling
propaganda for the BFEE any more than the fact
that some bloggers tell lies means that Bartcop
is corrupt.
The simple reality is
that most reporters really do care about serving the public and telling
the truth,
and work very hard to do so for very little money.
You hear about (and see) the worst ones, but please
give credit where credit is due to the unknown
local press that is doing its job.
Thanks very much for
your time, and keep on hammering.

Subject: Two-party
system
Hi Bart,
The "reason" they are bird dogging Hillary is
because the Democrats are supposed to represent their constituents,
who are mainly anti-war and unrepresented. They
don't want more BFEE, they want out of the Iraq hellhole.
If Hillary keeps acting like the BFEE, then she
deserves to be dogged.
Bush's ratings are in the toilet, and voters are
mad at all the lies, no matter which party !
I know it's difficult, but please get a friggin
clue, Bart buddy.
Best Regards,
Rob Mahon
Rob, I would rather get rid of Bush than "give
Hillary what she deserves."
Yesterday, Randi Rhodes pounded on the Democrats like she'd
been listening to BCR.
(Her comments will be in BCR
86.)
...and then it hit me.
Remember, "Only Nixon can go to China?"
Today, it's "Only
Hillary can remain silent," for the same reasons.
For the younger crowd, Nixon was an insatiable commie hunter.
He had "street cred" with the GOP for
hating commies more than the next guy. That's who he was - so
when he went to China, that meant something.
If McGovern had won and gone to China, they would have said, "Two
commie fags kissing each other,"
but when Nixon went to China that gave the mission some weight, not
unlike Clinton's "Sista Soulja" moment.
Hillary speaking up now would be like McGovern going to China - not
good.
But every other Democrat who doesn't speak up is guilty and
deserves to lose their seat.
They're already calling 37-year Marine Jack Murtha "a
cowardly fag,"
shrapnel-still-in-his-ass Kerry was a "fag
deserter" in Vietnam,
Max Cleland was "Osama's personal fag"
in 2002, so why in the world
does anyone think Hillary would get any better treatment from Bush's
whore press?
How can I be the only one who sees the obvious?
Do we want to get rid of the Bush bastards?
Or do we want to "teach Hillary a lesson?"

by Gart Hart

Excerpt:
If anyone had told me that U.S. presidents would
appear only in select audiences of their hand-picked partisan
supporters, before patriotic tableau carefully
designed by their "communications directors," and take questions
only from pre-screened, adoring fans, I would
have scoffed at the idea of such quasi-authoritarian practices
- yet here we are. I cannot recall an event since
the primaries in 2000 when Bush has gotten anywhere near
a cross-section of the American people he has
been elected to represent and to govern.
And how can the press, not only protected by the
First Amendment, but also heavily obligated by that protection,
not regularly report that the president has not
seen a variety of real Americans for FIVE YEARS?
Gary, you can't really blame Bush for this. He's
too stupid to answer any real questions, so they have to gin up
"safe" questions for him so he can resort to
his four-word sound bites for each the few topics that come up.
And the whore press?
Do their damn jobs?
Are you kidding?
When Clinton left office, they put their balls
in Cheney's blind trust.

Bumper sticker
says it all

Excerpt:
This bumper sticker heralds what is no longer
a partisan sentiment. It's clear to people of all political stripes
that Bush II is a miserable failure, that he's
led our nation into dark and dangerous territory, that incompetence
and deception are his stock in trade and that
anyone who disagrees with him is dismissed as "un-American."
Given that Bush's approval rating has remained
in the 30s for months, the vast majority of us are, in Bush's
fuzzy little mind, "un-American."
Worst President Ever?
Though historians will be the judge of that,
I can emphatically state that Bush II is the worst president in my lifetime
(Bush I is not far behind). He has done something
I did not think possible -- made me miss Richard Nixon.

5. Why was Giuliani's command bunker at ground

Rudy broke rules when he purchased

6. Why did 7 WTC fall?
NIST stalling, reports not
expected until next
spring.
What are they hiding?
7. How did the twin towers fall?
Many FDNY personnel reported explosions at the lower
levels as the top began collapsing.
These reports, as well as "squibs" of smoke, have
led to theories that the towers
were brought down in controlled explosions.
But we'll never know the truth because the Democrats allowed Bush to
install old BFEE
family friend Lee 'Whitewash' Hamilton as top watchdog, and whores
