"We now have found stockpiles..."

But what do the experts say?
Those Chemical weapons were produced before Poppy's Gulf War

"It is less toxic than most things that Americans

Terrorists
in Miami, Oh My
by Robert Parry as seen on consortiumnews.com
Link
Excerpt:
The Bush administration finally took action against
alleged terrorists living in plain sight in Miami,
but they weren't the right-wing Cuban terrorists
implicated in actual acts of terror, such as blowing
a civilian Cuban airliner out of the sky. They
were seven young black men whose crime was more
"aspirational than operational," the FBI said.
As media fanfare over the arrests made the seven
young men, many sporting dreadlocks, the new face
of the terrorist enemy in America, Attorney General
Alberto Gonzales conceded that the men had
no weapons or explosives and represented "no
immediate threat."
But Gonzales warned that these kinds of homegrown
terrorists "may prove to be
(Bart's emphasis)
as dangerous as groups like al-Qaeda." [NYT,
June 24, 2006]
So, just like Iraq and North Korea, Bush 'invades' the maybe, these
low-rent handjobs, instead of
capturing Osama, who has done known damage already.
Yet the bought-and-paid-for media will
crow about how great Bush is doing his job, how this is "another victory
for freedom."

Turning
Blood Into Gold
How Bush screwd things up again
Link
Excerpt:
The offer was made through the Swiss Embassy,
which has served as the conduit. The 2003 proposal
included "full cooperation on nuclear safeguards,
'decisive action,' against terrorists, coordination in Iraq,
ending 'material support' for Palestinian militias
and accepting the Saudi initiative for a two-state solution
in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict [which called
for all Muslim states to recognize Israel]," the Post reports.
The unprecedented initiative was approved by
Ayatollah Khamenei and then-President Kahatami - the
moderate whose attempts at dialogue were mocked
and undercut at every turn by the Bush Regime,
helping to discredit the entire reformist movement
in Iran and leading to Khatami's replacement by the
militant hardliner Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
In other words, everything that Bush says he wants
from the Iranians now, he could have had for the asking
- three years ago. What then can we conclude
from the rejection of this extraordinary initiative? The answer
is obvious: that the Bush Faction is not really
interested in curbing nuclear proliferation or defusing the
powder keg of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict,
and the regional and global terror that it spawns.

Bart,
I've been following the "argument" about she-who-must-not-be-named,
and I don't get the Dems.
They need to stop slinging mud at each other.
Using the time between now and November to get

something would be time better spent than trashing
"her." Personally, I can't see her doing anything
remarkable between now and the election to unite
the party, but if she gets nominated, she gets my vote.

Hastert,
Others make Crooked Deals
Link
Excerpt:
Dennis Hastert (R-Sweaty Wrestler.) made
a $2 million profit last year on the sale of land
near a highway project that he helped to finance
with targeted federal funds.
A Republican House member from California, meanwhile,
received nearly double what he paid for
a four-acre parcel near an Air Force base after
securing $8 million for a planned freeway interchange
16 miles away. And another California GOP congressman
obtained funding in last year's highway bill
for street improvements near a planned residential
and commercial development that he co-owns.
Hastert and his crooks say that they were securing
funds their home districts wanted badly,
and that in no way did the earmarks have any
impact on the land values of their investments.
Remember when they tried to hang Roger Clinton for making money off
his brother's presidency?
The GOP just steals millions and, since they're the majority, it's
all legal.

I was in the courtroom Friday in San Francisco

I sat there in amazement as they actually told

obey it and it would create a constitutional crisis.
It was like I was a witness to the death of freedom.

Bush blameless if Cheney didn't tell him?
Link
Excerpt:
Cheney's strategy of keeping Bush in the dark
went back to Watergate. The break-in was not the problem for Cheney:
The problem was that Nixon should have been "protected"
from knowing about it. It was his knowledge that ultimately
led to his undoing. Keeping information from
Bush allowed him to say anything without ever being held accountable.
"He could essentially be 'deniable' about his
own statements." The most notorious case of this was the NIE, laying out
the case for war. Bush was given only the summary,
which did not include the caveats about the yellowcake and
aluminum tubes claims. Since Bush had not read
the actual NIE, when those claims later turned out to be false, no one
could accuse him of lying. And in the meantime,
the higher good -- the war -- would have been achieved.
Remember how Bush used to execute prisoners in Texas?
The Texas Parole Board would write a 25 page summary of the facts of
the case.
Instead of reading the summary, Bush would ask the messenger, "Is
he guilty?"
The messenger would say, "yes," so Bush had the guy killed.
He was too lazy to do his job, and what, 300 men died as a result?.
Bush has taken that same "work ethic" to the world stage.
Always in the dark, always ignorant of the facts, he then makes "gut
calls,"
and expects his faith in a doesn't-exist God to make things work out
for the best.
He might as well be asking a rabbit's foot or the Magic
Eight Ball for guidance.
And the result?
Bush and his friends make billions of dollars and we lose 2520 soldiers.

Iraq PM
offers Amnesty, Timetable
Link
Excerpt:
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki offered amnesty
to "insurgents" and said Sunday that
lawmakers should set a timeline for the Iraqi
military and police to take control of Iraq.
There was no mention of any timetable for the
withdrawal of U.S.-led forces in Iraq.
However, the top commander in Iraq has drafted
a plan for drawing down the American
presence by two combat brigades just before the
fall elections to help the republican's campaign.
I thought timetables were bad
- so why is Bush cutting and running?
If soldiers' lives are precious
right before an election, why aren't they precious now?
If the Democrats wanted to take
control (should I bother to finish this sentence?)
they could commission a poll that asks,
"Should Bush keep combat troops in a country
where the PM offers amnesty to
the evildoers who are killing American soldiers?"
As we all know, you can rig a poll to get whatever result you want.
If the Dems took my advice
the results would probably come back with 80 percent saying "Remove
the troops if the PM
is offering amnesty to the evildoers," and
they could wave that poll on all the Sunday talk shows
...if they wanted to win.

Five reasons why:
1. Rove testified FIVE TIMES. Not a sign
of Fitz rolling over.
2. Truthout continues to stand by its indictment
story, and their source was Fitz's office.
Reading between the
lines, he forced Rove's hand to GIVE UP CHENEY. He's the target now.
There was a deal made, no
matter what Luskin might say. (Fitz has an Ace and he ain't playing
it until he has to.
This was the ONLY leak I can
recall in this case. Compare that to Ken Starr.)
Dude, you don't really believe that, do
you?
If Rove testifies against Cheney and Cheney
is charged, I'll buy you a car.
3. Luskin is a bigmouth, as is Rove. Where
was the shameless gloating? Why did the story
disappear after a day?
The dog was wagged with Zarqawi and Bush visiting Iraq.
4. Fitz has been very careful, very meticulous
in building a case even in the face of obstruction
from EVERYONE in this Admin,
including AG Torture Boy. Is there ANYONE else in this
Admin who has done their job
with care, competence, and without leaks? He has insured that
any "out of control prosecutor"
charge is laughable.
5. Don't you think the Rove team wants you and
all of us to turn on Fitz? Do you really want to
promote bi-partisan dislike
for the only guy with the power to bring down President Cheney?
Here's a great rundown in detail:

'Quandary for the Democrats," said the BBC newsreader.
The quandary is whether they should
continue to support the war in Iraq or insist
on early withdrawal, in which case they know that the
Republicans will accuse them of defeatism and
cowardice, if not downright treason.
But this is in truth a quandary for all of us
in those countries whose leaders embarked on the war.
Life would be simpler if it were a choice between
good and bad. In practice, politics is more often
a choice between the preferable and the detestable,
but even that doesn't describe the alternatives in Iraq.
We are now faced with a choice between the detestable
and the even worse.
Hmmm, that sounds like our choices for president.
Do you vote for someone you WISH could win?
Or do you vote for the person most likely to get rid of Bush?
Sadly, I know the answer to that one.
