Let's go
after Clinton
by some Carolina handjob
kinston.com
Excerpt:
Although Democrats enjoy impugning the integrity
of the current president and his administration,
(He means the Giggling Murderer)
the ethical lows achieved by his predecessor, Bill Clinton, and his
motley crew of senior advisers still cast the
current administration, for all its foibles, in a favorable light.
ha ha
Did you really say that?
"The Bush administration" in a "favorable light?"
Maybe in Kinston, South Carolina, but nowhere
else.
Sandy Berger reminds us of how "ethically challenged"
they were. Berger a year ago pleaded guilty to
the theft of classified documents from the National
Archives, receiving a slap on the wrist for acts that
would have a landed a non-Washington insider
in the slammer.
Maybe he got a slap on the wrist because his "crime"
was so trivial.
Congressional Democrats are widely expected to
use their newfound powers to launch a spate of
investigations of the Bush administration in
the next two years. But while they are out digging up dirt,
why not hold hearings into the last caper - and
cover-up - of the Clinton administration?
Great idea!
Instead of looking into why thousands of soldiers are dying
for no damn reason, let's investigate
Sandy Berger's paper snatch and pretend those two things are almost
equal in their horror.

Edwards
accidentally joins '08 race
Staffer hit "Send" on his web announcement early
Link
Excerpt:
John Edwards jumped into the '08 race a day earlier
than he'd planned, prodded by an
Internet glitch to launch a candidacy focused
on health care, taxes and other domestic issues.
His campaign accidentally went live with his election
Web site a day before an announcement
Thursday that was supposed to use Hurricane-ravaged
New Orleans as a backdrop.
Edwards '08 slogan is "Tomorrow begins today."
Aides quickly shut down the errant Web site but
could not contain news of the obvious,
even in the shadows of former President Ford's
death.
I like Edwards, especially in the light of the idiot South thinking
Sherman's tanks
will come rumbling thru Atlanta if a "Yankee" gets in the White House.
Does he want the top job?
Or is he angling for the Veep spot?

Subject: Nixon Pardon Revisited
On the day of President Ford's death people in
the news are praising his decision to pardon Nixon
saying that Ford "Healed the nations woulds and
brought Americans together after Watergate."
I am not one of those who share that opinion.
Nixon broke the law. He abused his power as president
for his own personal gain. By pardoning Nixon,
Ford cheated America out of justice and a chance to
show the world the even the president isn't above
the law. Instead America is left with a legacy the
high ranking officials who break the law will
be pardoned "for the good of the nation".
I wonder if we would be Iraq today and I wonder
if Bush would flaunt the law the way he is today
if Nixon had faced justice. We will never
know if Ford was chosen because he made a promise to
pardon Nixon if he was given the job. I believe
that it was wrong for an unelected president to pardon
the person who appointed him.
Elected officials who break the law should face
justice and I hope that we don't see justice
cheated again by presidential pardons.

Monkey moves
to protect Polar Bears
"Big
oil is killing us..."
cbsnews.com
Excerpt:
Polar bears are in deep trouble because of global
warming and other factors and deserve
federal protection under the Endangered Species
Act, the desperately-needs-a-distraction
Bush administration proposed Wednesday.
Interior Secretary Crony says polar bears should
be listed as a "threatened" species on the
government list of imperiled species. Such a
decision would require all federal agencies to
ensure that anything they authorize that might
affect polar bears will not jeopardize their survival
or the sea ice where they live. That could include
oil and gas exploration, commercial shipping
or even releases of toxic contaminants or climate-affecting
pollution.
This is Bush's realization that he's going down in history as the worst
president ever.
After his Daddy lost the 1992 election, he did the same thing - feigning
humanity by
sending troops to Somalia (without the armor they needed) which killed
18 soldiers.
Similarly, now that Bush realizes he's a bloody, dirty joke in history's
eyes, he thinks
helping to save the polar bears will make him seem ...almost human
to future generations.

I don't think I've heard you talk about Gore,
lately.
Do you think he might run, and if so, how do
you think he'll do?
From where I'm sitting, I think he'd do great.
People will look at him differently
than they did in 2000 now that most of what he
said back then has come true.
Of the people who've announced or will shortly,
I like Edwards.
Whenever I hear him talk, I find myself nodding
my head in agreement and
wondering why no one else will say the kind of
things he says.
I'm a pretty cynical guy, so not many politicians
can get that reaction from me.
Looking forward to 2008,
Jeff from Tulsa
I like the 2006 Gore just fine. Like you said, much of what he predicted
has come true from Global warming to Bush raping the Treasury for the
rich.
He's got a lot more respect now - but he says he's not interested.

Dear Bart:
Are you relying on the whore media when you conclude
that Gore never challenged the lies told about
him?
Jim W
Jim, I pay more attention than most.
If I didn't hear Gore refute the lies, most people didn't.
Did Gore refute the lie that he paid some woman $10,000 a month to tell
him how to dress?
I never saw it, if he did.
When you have assholes like Rush telling 4 million people a day that
something is a fact,
you can't automatically assume that people know it's false. By not
refuting the lies, they seem true.
The worst part of it is - Gore had the Clinton playbook in his damn
hands - so did Kerry.
Clinton showed how easy it was to refute a lie told at 1 PM
by the Fascists and their whore media
by countering it by releasing the facts at 1:15.
Gore was on Clinton's team - twice - but he failed to
learn anything from The Master.

the first time washed an inhabited island off the
face of the Earth. The obliteration of Lohachara
island, off India, marks the moment when one of
the most apocalyptic predictions of environmentalists

Marshall Islands, inundate vast areas of countries
from Bangladesh to Egypt, and submerge parts

"Some Shia elements have calld for the hanging
to be televised," reports the Guardian. Public executions
are not rare in the Islamic world. Besides meting
out punishment, they are intended to remind the witnesses
of the authority of Quaranic justice. Ali Haidiri,
an Iraqi journalist, told the LA Times that "when Hussein hangs,
...he wants to be there. 'It's not revenge,'
he said. 'This is someone who killed seven of my brothers.'"
It's not hard to imagine the Iraqi authorities
allowing cameras at the gallows. Even if they don't, it's not unlikely
that a cellphone or two will somehow manage to
video the execution. In either case, thanks to the 'Net,
footage of the hanging will conceivably be globally
available. What will the networks do?
They networks will promote anything to distract us from Bush's
bloody body count.
They hang Saddam for a 1982 attrocity while Bush continues the attrocities
of the 21st Century.

St Louis
judge reveals insanity
Link
Excerpt:
A liberal-bashing book by a St. Louis judge goes
on sale this week, but it is already
causing a stir in political and legal circles
- and prompting some to say it could cost him his job.
Chapter 1 of Circuit Judge Robert H. Dierker Jr.'s
book, "The Tyranny of Tolerance,"
has circulated via e-mail since last month and
been widely read in legal circles, lawyers and judges say.
The sentiments expressed in that chapter, which
frequently uses the term "femifascists" and is titled
"The Cloud Cuckooland of Radical Feminism,"
have already prompted a complaint with the state body
that can reprimand or remove judges.
Other judges and lawyers have said that Dierker
may have violated a state rule against a judge
using his position for personal profit. One judge
said it would be surprising if Dierker was not removed,
calling the book "professional suicide."
Judge Robert H. Dierker, Jr., addresses "puke
liberals":
people who are "so revoltingly liberal that they
make you want to puke"
If this Republican hates women, (and the majority of voters) how can
he judge them fairly?
"Radical feminism" sounds like "radical equality" to me.
If this guy hates women he's probably another GOP boy toucher.

In support of the claim that America is safer
with W[orst] occupying the Oval Office, some cite the fact
that no more commercial airliners have been hijacked
by terrorists and flown into skyscrapers. That many
Americans apparently swallow such fallacious
causal reasoning is a sad commentary on our educational
system (all school boards should require a basic
course in logic as a pre-requisite to a high school diploma).
What I find amusing, however, is that such an
argument also appears to support the contention that if
President Knucklehead and his administration
had been doing their damn jobs in the first place,
there is a very good chance the 9/11 terrorist
plot would have been thwarted!

Hey Bart,
Amy Goodman had a segment on Democracy Now which
mentioned other aspects of the Ford
administration than the happy gloss of the mainstream.
Robert Parry was on there among others,
and I think he was the one who said the pardon
deal was made before Nixon resigned.
It was also pointed out that Indonesia was hesitating
about invading East Timor, because they
received 90% of their weapons from the U.S. and
they didn't want them cut off if Washington
disapproved. Ford visited Indonesia, and
both he and Kissinger gave their OK for an invasion
that killed 1/3 of the Timorese population.

Subject: Jerry Ford
Bart,
I remember President Jerry very well. I
disagree that he was a "talentless nobody."
He was a traditional, hardworking Republican
politician in the old mold.
He stood up to the BFEE, and tweaked their
noses, by appointing Nelson Rockefeller as VP
when George HW Bush was the next in line.
As a "nice guy," he also was a great change from Nixon.
When he was asked if he would pardon Nixon, he
said, "I don't think the country would stand for that."
Guess what? They didn't. When
he ran for election, he was beaten by the presidential candidate
with the least political experience in the 20th
century.

Like Bill Murray in "Groundhog Day," Bush seems
doomed to wake up every morning in the same
Maureen Dowd column about a father's shadow he

handed his son the keys to the car, and the Daddy

Bush the younger watched his father lose the presidency
over a brief moment of responsibility,
and vowed to avenge the family name by never
governing responsibly again. Bush 43 seems to
view Bush 41's administration as a zero-sum game:
He is willing to add one old Bush hand

another (like James Baker). He has dealt with
the Iraq Study Group report the way stubborn

they hear something is supposed to be good for
