"Like Bob Dole, who, as a 70-something, was
mostly portrayed during his presidential
campaign as a cranky and ranting old
man, McCain is being portrayed that way now."

Actually, Mccain is seen as a suck-ass of the worst kind.
He sucking up to the worst president ever.
How can he be that stupid?

Iran Clock
Is Ticking
by Robert Parry
consortiumnews.com
Excerpt:
While congressional Democrats test how far they
should go in challenging George W. Bush's
war powers, the time may be running out to stop
Bush from ordering a major escalation of the
Middle East conflict by attacking Iran.
Military and intelligence sources continue to
tell me that preparations are advancing for a war
with Iran starting possibly as early as mid-to-late
February. The sources offer some differences
of opinion over whether Bush might cite a provocation
from Iran or whether Israel will take the
lead in launching air strikes against Iran's
nuclear facilities.
But there is growing alarm among military and
intelligence experts that Bush already has
decided to attack and simply is
waiting for a second aircraft carrier strike force to arrive
in the region - and for a propaganda blitz to
stir up some pro-war sentiment at home.
The Democrats can't just sit there while Bush wrecks the planet.
I don't know enough about how Congress works to make an intelligent
suggestion,
but at the very least, can't they tell Bush that every bill, very proposal,
every idea
he has until the end of his term is dead in the water if he starts
a third losing war?
A while back I heard that Iran has 400,000 military age volunteers who
are ready
to stream into Iraq and fight our soldiers if Bush attacks them. Bush's
lust for oil
is likely to put the lives of 120,000 soldiers at grave risk if he
screws this up, not to
mention adding tens of thousands of suicide bombers to America's problems.
Remember, unlike Iraq, Iran is not secular - they are run by religiously
insane handjobs.
Lastly, when they say, "America's military is stretched to the breaking
point,"
does that mean so many of our soldiers have lost arms and legs that
we don't
have enough healthy men to fight a third war? So what is Bush
doing?

Dems eat
their own
dailyhowler.com
Excerpt:
Is anyone dumber than our Dem Party activists?
Newsweek released another poll that showed
Clinton leading McCain by six points. It was
the third straight Newsweek poll which showed Clinton
ahead of McCain; she also leads Giuliani, but
so what! Nothing stops us liberals and Dems from
reciting defeatist points which reporters then
rush into national papers. Hillary Clinton is unelectable!
Because of "her political baggage!" She's "too
polarizing." In short, the RNC doesn't need to exist.
We liberals and Dems are now quite pleased to
recite their talking-points for them.
Bob Sommerby at the Daily Howler better watch what he says.

"Hillary accused Bush of trying to pass the

and described his actions as 'the height

that is a "partisan attack that sends

the Iraqi people." That's the only
response the Bush movement now even bothers to make:
those who speak against the Leader
hate the troops and help the Enemy."

Biden jumps
into race, screws up
Link
Excerpt:
Biden the screw-up, launched his 2008 White House
bid with a giant screw-up
and sparked a media storm, after describing Barack
Obama as "clean."
Biden, the long-winded idiot who on his best days
has hamster balls, said he regretted the comments
in a New York Observer interview which also featured
swipes at Hillary and John Edwards.
Biden is so helpless.
I could spin his way out of this - here's how
I'd do it.
"Since Obama is new to politics, his negatives
are really low and the GOP smear machine
has just begun their snarky mud-slinging
- that's what I meant by 'Obama is clean.' "
How can Biden be so helpless after a lifetime in politics?

I'll bet, before the war, she never said in writing, that Saddam had

She'll swear she knew Saddam had no WMDs

Obama gives

blog.wahopo.com
Excerpt:
Sources say the Obama camp has "frozen out" Fox
News in the wake of the whore network's major
screw-up in running with the erroneous Obama-the-jihadist
story reported by Insight magazine.
"I'm still in the freezer," one Fox whore said,
noting that the whores at Fox "suffering the most did nothing wrong."
(It was "Fox and Friends" host Steve Douche who
aired the Insight magazine piece, which reported that Hillary's
camp disclosed that Obama, as a child, was educated
at a Muslim madrassah in Indonesia.)
Another Fox whore called the network's airing
of the story "unfortunate" for the network's whores
who have to cover Obama and who are being adversely
affected despite not being involved in the incident.
My respect for Obama just went up a couple of
notches.

Subject: Britney and Dr Laura
nude
What the are you talking about???
That's an odd way to start a conversation.
I hate Dr. Laura as much as you do...
That's an assumption on your part.
(I also hate Britney) but this is some underhanded,
duplicitous shit you're shoveling.
Which fact did you find underhanded and duplicitous?
And you might need to watch your tone, Cubby.
This is the kind of intellectually dishonest tactics
one expects from the Fox "News" gang & Rush Limbaugh.
As time goes by, will you ever stop name-calling
and say something?
Dr. Laura's pictures were taken before she was
famous, in the privacy of her home, by someone she had
a intimate relationship with and trusted (mistakenly)
who later gave these private pictures to the media.
The way I see it, she spread her legs in the most
vulgar way for her boyfriend's camera.
A much-younger Paris was betrayed by her then-boyfriend
in a similar fashion,
but she's nowhere near as slutty and vulgar as
Laura better-than-you Schlessinger.
When the photos came out, Laura lied and said
"That's not me in those pictures."
Then (get this!) she sued to get the photos because
she "owned them."
Why would the lying Laura own vulgar, slutty
pictures of some slutty tramp?
When cornered by Larry King, who said, "Of
course that's you, stop lying," she
said,
"I mean - I'm another person now - one doesn't
really mature until they're 30."
So Laura - and you - are forced to admit that
as long as Paris and Britney don't straddle
a camera lens for some boyfriend, they hold the
higher moral ground to Laura the Screech,
which is a low threshhold, indeed.
So - why would you want to attack me and defend
her?
Brittney (did what
she did) in a public location when she knew
the media would be all over her.
That I agree with, but just playing Devil's Advocate,
all Britney did was get out of a car.
There's no way Laura can claim,
"It wasn't intentional," with her knees
three feet apart.
Christ, she's a celebrity and she was with Paris
Hilton.
For you to suggest that these are "apple to apple"
scenarios is just blatantly dishonest & slimy.
I see it exactly the opposite way.
Did Britany or Paris every claim to be morally
superior to everyone?
Did either of them make hundreds of millions
of dollars slurring liberals and gay people?
Plus, Laura was a lot older than Paris
or Britney when she posed for that vulgar crap.
As I stated, I have no love for either of these
women.
I think the world would be better off without
either of them, but I do have
a fondness for fairness and the truth, both of
which you violated..
bushisevil
Tell me again how I violated the truth.
And guess what?
It's not my job to "be fair" with the Schlessinger slut.
It ain't your job either, Cubby.
It's not like I photoshopped Laura's head on some skanky slut's picture
from Hustler?
I didn't, and I can prove it, because the girls in Hustler
don't spread their legs that wide.

Why I hate
Hillary
by Maureen I-hate-everybody Dowd
pottersville.blogspot
Excerpt:
When she was little, Hillary Rodham would sit
on a basement bench and pretend she was flying a spaceship
to Mars. Her younger brother Hugh, perched behind,
would sometimes beg for a chance to be captain.
No dice. "She would always drive, and I would
always have to sit in the back," he once told me.
Through all the years of sitting behind Bill Clinton
on his trip to the stars, Hillary fidgeted and elbowed,
trying to be co-captain rather than just wingman,
or worse, winglady.
Finally, in Iowa, she was once more behind the
wheel of her spaceship to Mars.
In the real world, shit-writing like this wins
a Pulitzer Prize.
I wonder who Dowd blew to get that nomination?

Subject: put yourself in the
enemy's shoes
Bart,
When I put myself in the shoes of the enemy in
Iraq, I see arrogance, shortsightedness, total lack
of respect for humanity, and absolute greed in
the government of the United States of America.
It is no wonder at all that they are emboldened
to defeat the army of this government.
The very act of honestly looking at this war
thru the eyes of an Iraqi is to puke at the ineptness
of the decision making of our government in every
aspect ot this illegal endeavor.
The obvious question that comes to mind is, how
long will it take to fire this government?

Subject: WMDs and Hillary
Bart...
I too have problems with Hillary.
I never see her without her finger in the air
before she speaks, checking the winds...
Hmmm, since I'm sure you've never
seen her with her finger in the air,
I must assume you couldn't think of a more concrete
reason to dislike her.
She needs to tell me why simple hard working Patty
Murray could see thru Bush's BS,
and vote against his war, and yet Hillary could
believe what Bush tells her on the front end.
I''ve explained this until I became a Smurf (Blue
in the face) and it doesn't take,
so maybe we should attempt to try to break this
from the other end.
Maybe we could find someone who voted "No," and
ask them:
"The president, the State Dept, the CIA, the
Defense Dept etc gave you their
Nancy Grace Guarantee that Saddam
had WMDs and the means to deliver them
- so why did you vote to leave the East
Coast vulnerable to Saddam's attack?"
Then Murray or whoever could point us towards
that smoking gun which eludes us.
What part of Bush's character was different then
than it is now?
You did not say that.
In 2002, very few people (besides us) knew that
Bush was a lying scumbag and incompetent thief.
In 2007, everybody knows that Bush is
a lying scumbag and incompetent thief.
She made a coward's decision, and has yet to own
up to it.
Voting to defend the East Coast proves de facto
cowardice?
I will wait for the field to get interesting,
hoping that a Howard Dean candidate emerges.
If Hillary is the candidate, I will vote for
her. But I will do it choking down my distaste...

Baghdad
hits new highs in death
I'm shocked - I thought things were great over there
Link
Excerpt:
Nine people were killed in bomb blasts in Baghdad
and mortars rained down on a Sunni neighborhood
on Thursday as new figures showed that Iraqi
civilians deaths edged up to another record in January.
The data from an Interior Ministry official, which
fudges the numbers to make Bush look good,
showed 1,971 people died from "terrorism" in
Iraq in January, up from the 1,930 deaths in December.
In what has become almost daily criticism of what
Washington sees as Iranian interference in Iraq,
Bush puppets who want a wider war accused Tehran
of supplying Iraqi insurgents with weapons
technology used to kill American troops.
Well, then, I guess the only smart move is to
start a third war we can't win, right George?

Pokerfest
Jersey fails to proceed
We couldn't get enough "maybes" to fill the first poker table.
Geez, you'd think Mark Foley could draw enough to fill one table.
I remember, years ago, we tried to do a Foxwoods Pokerfest near Boston.
Once again, people stayed away in droves.
Maybe it's a geography thing - you see, here in Oklahoma, if some attraction
comes to Dallas or St Louis or KC, we think,
"That's just 5 hours away by car."
Back East, if it's not right in your own home town, people tend to
stay home - maybe.
I asked Rude Rich what he thought the problem was - his answer?
"My only guess would be that they don't want
to be seen with a hayseed from a red state.
I wouldn't be like that.
I'd put you on display to show the conservatives
around here what happens when you leave NJ."
We'll wait a few years and try again.
