"I'd like to establish some ground rules here for those of you who are stuck following me
for the next little less than two years. I will resist all temptation to become the pundit in chief
and commenting upon every twist and turn of the presidential campaign."

A little background:
Years ago, Bush said he'd fire anyone on his staff who leaked the Valerie Plame treason.
In Libby's trial, it was discovered that Cheney, Rove and Armitage leaked along with Libby.

At Tuesday's press conference, when asked if his word was good on that, and would he fire
Cheney, Armirtage and Rove, Bush said, "I refuse to answer. Next question?"

He's a gutless coward.
Let's hope the voters punish his party for his crimes.

America's 'Tarzan' Foreign Policy
  by Ivan Eland

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
Still driven by a neoconservative ideology, the Bush administration is leading the United States into a
foreign-policy jungle where George W. Bush may think of himself as the world's most powerful predator
today but where that supremacy may not be long lived. In this guest essay, Ivan Eland uses another jungle
metaphor, likening Bush's foreign policy to a chest-thumping Tarzan declaring "we good, you bad."

Ex-aide calls Sleazy Rice a liar

 Link

 Excerpt:
Kinda Sleazy Rice Rice misled the U.S. Congress when she said last week that she had not seen a
2003 Iranian proposal for talks with the United States, a former senior government official said on Wednesday.

Flynt Leverett, who worked on the National Security Council when it was headed by Rice, likened the proposal
to the 1972 U.S. opening to China. He said he was confident it was seen by Rice and Colin Powell but
"the administration rejected the overture."

Testifying before the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee last week, Bush's highest-paid whore
told lawmakers who asked about Leverett's previous public comments and writings on the Iranian proposal:
"I don't know what Flynt Leverett's talking about."

I hate her more today than yesterday
 by Arianna Huffington

 Link

 Excerpt:
James Carville was desperately trying to explain why Hillary voted for the war,
even though other senators who had been given the same faulty intel she had,
voted against it: "But they weren't from New York," he said.

"Their state wasn't hit. They didn't have to deal with the grief of these 3,000 people."

As if the war in Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.

In an interview last month, Hillary herself offered the same excuse, telling the AP:
"As a senator from New York, I lived through 9/11 and am still dealing with the aftereffects."
Call it PTJS (Post Traumatic Justification Syndrome).

As always, Arianna completely misrepresents Hillary's position.
As always, Arianna fails to list any FACTS about the reasons she hates her.
As always, Arianna comes with the snide remarks and the Dowd-like disgust,
but never are there any facts - it's always Arianna's "impressions" of her.

Besides, if Hillary came out and said, "I made a mistake with my Iraq vote.
It was stupid of me, I should've known better and I apologize for that,"
does anyone think Arianna would then LIKE Hillary?

Hell now - she'd just go to the next reason on the list why she hates her.

And, ...has Arianna ever voted for a Democrat for president?

Can somebody get that question to her?

Subject: Does Bush have Tertiary syphilis?

Bart, was wandering lost in the intertubes when I can across this explanation
of Tertiary neurosyphilis; see if you don't think this would explain Boy Blunder:

Tertiary neurosyphilis, is the most interesting form of syphilis from a cultural point of view.
Just before the onset of paralysis, the sufferer is beset with delusions of grandeur, a sense
of understanding everything, a sense that he is on the verge of some monumental discovery
which will forever change the course of history, as well as a sense that some divine electricity
is coursing through his veins.

Subject: Legitimate Iran Question

We know Iran, not to mention the Saudis, support various terrorist organizations.
What do you do with an enemy who fairly openly takes the money from your business
with one hand and uses some of it to, even if by proxy, stab you in the back with the other hand?

Personally, I would point America towards the future and offer huge tax breaks to companies to
develope alternative fuel for transportation and tax breaks for people who buy these new cars.
I would also give giant tax breaks for people who bought solar energy systems for their homes.

Visit   jointhesolution.com

Screw the Saudis and the rest of the fossil fuel bastards and their dirty, black oil that's getting our soldiers killed every day.

Obviously trying to trade with these countries to bring them into the fold of the world economy doesn't do the trick.
Yes we're led by idiot crooks, but aside from saying Bush is an moron and he's wrong, what is the solution?

The solution is tell them to shove their dirty oil up their religiously insane asses.

My officer friends in the Air Force look at it as a controlled burn.
It's an inevitable conflict, thus have it now on your terms, etc.

Your Air Force friends are screwed in the head.
"Controlled burns" often burn out of control - that's what we have now.
The situation was just fine before Bush kicked the hornet's nest.

What is your counter? Talking produces no results, trade neither, so is the only route left for a
(closest thing we'll get to) peace in the region to be at the point of a sword?

My counter is to offer Israel a place inside our borders to live. If they'd rather fuck with a nuclear Iran,
then that's their Kingdom Come, not ours. Every handjob in the Middle East can't wait to die for their Gawd
and I don't want any part of their religious insanity.  They love their sacred sand more than they love their kids.
If they want to die for precious, holy sand, then fuck 'em - I want no part of that horseshit.

I'd like to see some genuine debate other than the standard "war is bad"/"Bush is a tool" stuff.
 Tyler

The answers are clearer than Lake Concha.
Move Israel and create cars that run without oil.
It's so simple, but religious insanity prevents it from happening.

Those nutty bastards can eat and drink their oil and we'll live in peace.

Sidebar:
Did you think you were going to stump me?

War is bad and Bush is a tool, a crooked, murdering, torturing tool who doesn't mind
3100 dead soldiers because BIG OIL is drowning in unearned trillions of dollars of profits.

Why George Bush is the man
  by Mike Schellenberg

 Excerpt:
Wars have to be fought there always have been and always have been wars this Earth is to different for everyone to
have 1 voice and do everything 1 way!! Like look at this for example you are all posting on this what you think is right
what makes what you say right?? Let me answer that....Jack shit!

Invading Iraq is showing the world that the U.S is not to be fucked with and I think due to their their bombed
cities and massive casualties their starting to get the message.

Like all angry Republicans who write, Mike was offered a weekly column.
In ten-plus years, he's the only one to take me up on that offer.

I can't wait for his second column.

Subject: Fighting them over there

Bush and the Republicans keep saying that "we have to fight them
over there because if we withdraw they will follow us over here".

That's as much of a lie as the lies that got us into this occupation in the first place.
The truth is that being over there has absolutely nothing to do with them coming over here at all.

All we are doing is wasting our resources, killing our troops for no reason while we sit in the
middle of an Iraqi civil war. We are more at risk staying there than bringing the troops home
because if we are attacked here our troops are over there and there's no one to defend the homeland.

Pelosi: Bush lacks authority to invade

 Link

 Excerpt:
Speaker Pelosi said Thursday that Bush lacks the authority to invade Iran without congressiional approval,
a fresh challenge to the Monkey on the eve of a symbolic vote critical of his troop buildup in Iraq.
Pelosi, noted that Bush says he supports a diplomatic resolution to Iran "and I take him at his word."

<Bart faints while saying, "Not again!">

At the same time, she said, "I do believe that Congress should assert itself, though, and make it very clear
that there is no previous authority for the president, any president, to go into Iran."

Now of she would couple that statement with a guarantee that she would start impeachment hearings
if Bush chooses to break the law - it might mean something.  We're long past the stage of,
"We trust the president to keep his word."

Goddamnit Bart, I'm sick of reading that on the intertubes.
The people that did 9/11 (if you're sheeple enough to believe it)
came from SAUDI ARABIA - most of them, anyhow.

We don't have the truth of what happened that day, but we DO know that (supposedly) they came
mostly from Saudi Arabia, that Afghanis were covering for OBL, asked for some proof that he did it,
and were told to "go Cheney themselves," we'll be right over to kick your asses anyway.

US Military Vs. Jack Bauer

 truthout.org

 Excerpt:
In the TV series 24, Jack Bauer always gets his man, even if he has to play a little rough.
Suffocating, electrocuting or drugging a suspect are all in a day's work. As Bauer tells one baddie:
"You are going to tell me what I want to know - it's just a matter of how much you want it to hurt."

The US military has appealed to the producers of 24 to tone down the torture scenes because of
the impact they are having both on troops in the field and America's reputation abroad. Forget Abu Ghraib,
forget about Gitmo, forget Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq, forget Bush's trashing of the Bill of Rights
and forget that Bush has authorised torture, Jack Bauer is giving America a bad name.

Subject: Senate Democrats

I'm happy to criticize any Democrat when they deserve it and cave in to pressure from Republicans.
An example of that would be the way Sen. Kerry failed to respond to the Swiftboat liars in 2004.

However you've got it all wrong in the case of the Senate Democrats and their resolution
to reject Bush's escalation of the Iraq war. It's not that the Senate Democrats didn't fight,
they were filibustered by the Republicans.

The rules of the Senate are such that it takes 60 votes to end debate and bring an
issue to a vote. Since there are only 51 Democrats in the Senate and none of the Republicans would
cross over and support the Democrats, there was no way for them to get the 60 votes needed to
bring the resolution to a straight up or down vote. That's just the way the Senate works.
 Bill U

Bill, I get that.
But when the GOP had fewer than 60 votes, the Democrats were paralyzed.
They screamed, "We're powerless" for the last four-plus years.

Now that the situation is reversed, the GOP isn't screaming, "We're powerless."
They're bullying the Democrats just like they did when they had control.

When they were in the majority, they threatened to change the rules if the Democrats dared
to use their constitutionally-guaranteed power to filibuster, so the Democrats caved in and
wet themselves and crawled under a table and cried, "Please don't hurt us."

No matter who has the majority, the Republicans call the tune and
the Democrats shake in fear and beg the GOP, "Please don't hurt us."

Can you explain that?

Judge: Libby team lied

 Link

 Excerpt:
Defense attorneys misled the court into thinking that Libby would testify, a federal judge
said as he blocked Libby from using some classified evidence in the case.

Libby's attorneys have said for months in court papers that Libby would testify that he had
important national security issues on his mind and that he simply forgot details about his
conversations regarding the CIA employee, Valerie Plame.

Fitzmas agreed to tell jurors about the terrorist threats, war planning and other secret issues
that Libby faced at the time. The prosecutor said that he agreed to do this on the condition that
he could cross-examine Libby at some point on just how seriously he considered these threats.

When defense attorneys abruptly announced that Libby would not testify, Fitzmas said that
jurors hearing the case therefore should not be given a prewritten statement about Libby's briefings.
Judge Walton agreed, and reversed an earlier ruling that the evidence could be admitted.

"My absolute understanding was that Mr. Libby was going to testify,'' the judge said.
"My ruling was based on the fact that he was going to testify.''

Cheney can't testify because he's guilty.
They passed laws that said, "Bush & Cheney can't he held accountable for their crimes,"
but that would include lying under oath so Cheney had no choice.

Scooter will have to be found guilty and pardoned by Der Monkey.

Wherever there is a war or bloodshed of some kind (other than the one Bush started in Iraq),
the Muslims are ALWAYS there. Philippines, Sudan, Chad, Pakistan, India, Israel, Denmark, France, etc.

Don't see a lot, or any, terrorists that aren't Muslim.

Subject: Random thought - Chicago Tower

First, what do you mean by "peace senator"?  Are you implying Obama is a full-on pacifist?
If so, please link to some of the statements that have given you that impression.

I know very, very. very little about Obama, but the Hillary haters always refer to Obama
as the anti-Hillary peace senator when they want to paint her as the Attila the Hunness.

Second, you should realize it IS actually easy to be a "peace senator," if by that
you mean an anti-Iraq war senator, "when it wasn't your city that was attacked."

Sure, you can be a "peace senator," but you'll never sit in the Oval Office.

Iraq wasn't involved, Obama's against the Iraq war what's the problem?

I can't find a question there I can answer.

Since you always rail against those who tie the Iraq invasion with Sept. 11,
why have you gone and done the same?  What point are you trying to make?

Pug from the North Side
(Even though I'll always be a White Sox fan)

I wonder if there are any Hillary haters who can answer this question:

When a city issues a gun to a rookie cop, are they authorizing him
to shoot anyone who he thinks the world would be better off without?

Or did they arm him in the event that sudden and deadly force must be used?

I have the courage to answer that, Bart!

Will I get any replies?

People say, "Hillary voted for the war," like she owns Exxon-Mobil.

Subject: I have a question...

*In WWII US auto makers quit making cars to tool up for the war effort,
overwhelming the enemy.    American manufacturers did not go out of business
*Yesterday Chrysler announced laying off 13,000 workers - following Ford and GM in layoffs...
*But American troops can't get orders filled for armored Humvees for current war effort?

Q: What is wrong with this corporate-America picture?
  Mark

Mark, what's wrong is Bush can't make any money in peace time.

Sure, he could be a successful wartime president if Iraq succeeded.

OR

He could make $260M a day in oil profits by "failing" in Iraq.
It's been three years of Bush "failing" - by making $260M a day.

$260M a day for three years means Bush doesn't care
if history calls him a boneheaded loser and the worst president ever.
