2080 - Fear Peddlers
Quote of
the Day
"I've never -- nobody ever told me that."
-- Dubya, on why he's been screaming about
World War III after his intel said Iran quit
their nuclear program 4 years ago, Linktest
"What I'm not gonna miss, which is what we all, some of us went through in 2000, which was getting
on an airplane and having...my friend Candy Crowley pass a virus around. I got a respiratory infection,
so did half the press corps. They got off the plane; I didn't get to get off the plane! It was tough."
-- Der Monkey, on Candy Crowley failing to assassinate him when she had the chance, Link
Excerpt:
Bush has mounted an unprecedented assault on the nation’s Constitution. He has followed a neoconservative path
toward an imperial system built on an all-powerful Executive, an ill-informed and frightened public, and a military
dispatched globally on ill-defined missions in an endless war.
Bush tells us that he values “freedom” and “liberty” as he tramples on our most treasured constitutional rights:
habeas corpus protections against arbitrary arrest, the Fourth Amendment’s requirements for search warrants,
the Sixth Amendment’s guarantee of a fair trial, the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition on “cruel and unusual punishment.”
Bush also shows contempt for the principle of free speech. Whenever he faces criticism, he deploys his government
subordinates and the powerful right-wing media to attack the citizens who dare dissent.
From the Dixie Chicks to Valerie Plame, we have seen what happens to Americans
who get in the way of Bush’s political/media machine.
"And we can say as long as we get Democrats in, everything's gonna be O.K. It's a lie.
It's not the truth. Do you really believe if we replace a crowd of corporate Republicans
with a crowd of corporate Democrats that anything meaningful's gonna change?" -- a very desperate John Edwards, stupidly insulting the intelligence of Democrats , Link
But John, if Hillary is a Bush-Cheney clone, why is she in the lead?
Are you saying Democrats are too stupid to recognize a Bush-Cheney clone?
Edwards looks foolish because he's promised to support her if she wins.
How can John Edwards support a Bush-Cheney clone for president?
Poor John Edwards, if he loses Iowa, he's probably out of the race.
That's why he's going "All in" with a bad hand.
If I was on his staff, I might've been able to prevent him
from taking this
unsustainable position. Edwards is the ONLY Democrat who's pledged to support a Bush-Cheney clone.
John, I like you, but this is why you can't be our nominee.
You failed to think your position through to it's logical conclusion.
Excerpt:
Plastic replica of an 11-12 week old fetus, (Whew, not the real thing?) 3" long,
holding a
firearm in its precious little Republican hand, with other military paraphernalia,
encased in a
translucent plastic ornament, with a patriotic yellow ribbon on top. Includes
a metal hanger. If only a womb were this safe, attractive and reasonably priced!
Show that you support the "culture of life" by buying these patriotic unborn Americans.
Also available in a "Brown" model.
ha ha
Give your sons and daughters to the BFEE and Halliburton - and then your fetus!
And Brown Republicans can donate, too!
Excerpt:
Moscow: Even if it was all for effect, Vladimir Putin did a very important and momentous thing October 30,
traveling
to a 3 decade NKVD killing field in southern Moscow- Butovo, where maybe 50,000 people were shot
for no particular
reason, except that the nation’s leader was a fanatic… and finally acknowledging the madness
of the monsters.
Before
he had appeared to excuse them: “it was terrible”, yes, but “in other countries even worse
things happen”.
In the burgeoning nationalism he's sponsored, the past is a heroic rose colored time and the only
enemy the Nazis.
As an ex- KGB man who belonged to the predator organization and has rolled back political
rights and liberties,
there were multiple layers of irony and outrage competing by the Church of the Resurrection and New Martyrs.

Quotes
"Republicans can’t have two sets of rules: If we’re going to say that
what Clinton did matters, we have to say that it also matters for us, too." -- Mike Huckabee, attacking Rudy for screwing his whore while married, Link
Excerpt:
Bush is scheduled to announce a plan to freeze interest rates for five years for thousands of
strapped
homeowners
whose mortgages were scheduled to rise in the coming months. It would freeze introductory "teaser" rates on
subprime mortgages, preventing them from resetting to higher rates for five years.
How can Bush change the terms of a contract without permission from both partties?
If he can change it down, that means he can change it up.
What if Bush wants to change all mortgage rates to 15% - would that be legal, too?
The White House said it was voluntary, and did not represent federal intrusion into the private market.
Really? Intruding and forcing the banks to accept less profit is voluntary?
Bankers are just slightly less greedy than oil men - why would they volunteer to make less money?
These Republicans always tout the "free market," and then they interfere.
The time to interfere was when the banks were making these loan-shark mortgages
to people who didn't know the bank was screwing them, the sons of bitches.
As always, they screw people until they're caught, then they say, "My bad," and offer to settle.
Excerpt:
Look at the expressions on Bush's face and the evident discomfort
as he gets ready to fib and weave about when he knew the intel on Iran.
Pay particular attention to when he says he was told there was new information
back in August but supposedly didn't ask what the 'new information' was.
And then: "He didn't tell me what the information was." Right ...
What happened here is Bush got caught trying to lie us into a SECOND WAR. How can they not impeach the bastard when he tries it a second time?
Bush wants to steal oil more than he wants soldiers to live.
Isn't that the act of a traitor?
And how many wars can Bush lie soldiers into and still have their respect?
The Clintons are in the future, so we're both guessing,
but Waco's in the past and we have the facts at our fingertips.
At a time when the GOP would do ANYTHING to harm Clinton,
why did they give him a "100% innocent" on the deaths of those kids?
Saying "Clinton was guilty in Waco" is saying the GOP is a reasonable group
who
plays fair and would not hit below the belt to hurt a formidable political enemy.
Before I'm going to listen to any wild conspiracy theories, that sentence in bold
must be explained, and "They're in on it together" is not an excuse because
Clinton was impeached, wasn't he?
Subject: not white, not black - who are "the Others?"
As a Native American who falls right in the middle of your 25-35 demographic,
I would guess Other includes me.
I've been reading daily for seven years or so. My father, a disabled Vietnam vet,
once gave me a piece of advice, "Don't take any shit and don't kiss anyone's ass."
You do neither.
Danger Bear
DB, thanks for that, and a shot of Chinaco Anejo for your Dad!
"That is the key question that galvanizes a whole lot of support. When that nerve is hit,
people do not
worry
about divorces; they do not worry about perfection. People worry about the survival of the country."
-- Barry Wynn, saying Rudy would look better if we had more terror attacks, Link
"Everybody understands it’s election-year politics. But people are focused on the big issues, that’s Iran and Iraq.
If we start examining microscopic details that are really insignificant, it is really going to derail the big picture."
-- Barron Thomas, saying keeping your wedding vow is a "microscopic detail", Link
Excerpt:
What does it say about the young Obama that he was well-nigh obsessed with his vain braggart of an
absentee father but trivialized his mother’s accomplishments? What does it mean that he himself plainly
can’t see that his father comes off in these pages as a world-class jerk and his mother as a woman of
admirable self-discipline and quiet achievement? What does it mean that throughout his account of his
work as a community organizer in Chicago, Obama himself is in sharp focus while the underprivileged
folks he’s supposedly trying to help are hazy figures in the distant background?
What does it mean that some of the characters in this book – whom one would otherwise assume to be
important people in his life – are, as he admits in the introduction, composites? What does it mean that
despite his fixation on his father and his Kenyan kin, their religion (Islam) is barely mentioned, and that
in the most substantial reference to it, he gives a genial thumbs-up to his brother’s newfound religious fervor?
No, that's why I asked, and by claiming that, you're calling me a liar.
We could talk like adults, but if you want to get into a name-calling contest...
Obama is running for POTUS
for christsakes,
and you got him on a picture playing step-n-fetch-it
for Hillary Clinton.
Every black driver is Stepin Fetchit?
I think 30 million black drivers might say, "That Jimmy guy sounds like a racist!"
Besides, you have to have audio to do Stepin Fetchit,
unless you think a man can pull his race down by merely driving a car?
What is hard to understand?
Your apparent racism is hard for me to understand.
How long have blacks
been waiting for representation in this country?
And you have the
first
black man who could actually win the nomination
of one of the two major
parties portrayed as Miss Hillary's driver?
I think you just insulted Morgan Freeman, one of Hollywood's finest actors.
How dare he take a role that demeans all black people, right?
I'd expect to see this
picture on freerepublic.com or on Limbaugh's web page.
Not yours,
- Jimmy the H
Maybe you should spend less time at freerepublic and the vulgar Pigboy's page.
I didn't see the film, so to me it was just a toon, but Jimmy has a race problem with it?.
Just curious, when you're, say, in Vegas, and you hail a cab, if the driver
happens to be black, does your "race radar" prevent you from getting in his cab?
How long have blacks waited to be treated like equals?
You would deny a man a chance to make money because he's black?
And if you got in the black man's cab and someone took a picture,
who's the racist then?
You, the black driver or the guy with the camera?
"The most disappointing thing about Washington has been the name-calling.
And I've tried hard not to do that. I've tried to be respectful to all parties." -- Der Shipanse, giving his Nancy Grace Guarantee that he's no name-caller, Link
"There's a group in the opposition party who are willing to retreat before the mission is done.
They're willing to wave the white flag of surrender." -- Der Shipanse, who's not into name-calling, Link
"The Democrats are the party of cut and run ... They talk tough on terror,
but when the votes are counted, their softer side comes out." -- Der Shipanse, who's not into name-calling, Link
I just listened to Mitt Romney's speech on religion and I found it offensive. Romney was specifically exclusive
of the Reality Based Community while trying to make his religion part of the religious insider club. Specifically
he put down secular society in a way that shows that he doesn't understand the definition of what secular is.
Secularism is the basis of American society and Constitutional law. Secularism means that everyone, regardless
of religion or lack of religion, has equal standing as citizens. Secularism is found in the Constitution which states,
"no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."
It is because of secularism that Mormons can run for president. Mormonism, like Atheism, is not a mainstream
religious view. Yet Romney seeks inclusiveness while preaching exclusiveness by insulting those outside the
Christian/Jewish/Muslim community.
Those of us in the Reality Based Community are good moral people too. We are honest, hard working, ethical,
tax-paying, productive citizens with strong moral values. We Realists also want to be included just like Mormons
want to be included. But in order to get inclusion you have to be ready to give inclusion. So if Romney is against us
then why should we be for him? I am more impressed with Mike Huckabee who doesn't demonize people.

Vulgar Pigboy Quotes
"If Ahmadinejad shut down Iran's nuclear program in 2003,
isn't he more deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize than Algore?"
-- the vulgar
Pigboy, still upset that he didn't win a Nobel Prize for Racial Slurs
Butt Rush, Bush kept that fact a secret so he could invade them,
but the CIA got tired of being his scapegoat so they released the truth.
"This is a world that runs on fossil fuels, folks, and it's going to run
on fossil fuels
long after you and I and your grandkids are dead."
-- the Oxycotin child molester, on BIG OIL strangling alternative sources of energy
so they can gouge poor Americans with their monopoly for decades more to come
"Hell's bells, somebody's gotta do something to protect us from liberals and Democrats."
-- Rush, upset that voters went Democrat in 2006, and will do so again in 2008
“The Sheriff says she was in violation of Condition 69 of her probation.”
I feel so much safer knowing this menace to society is behind bars.
But wait, didn’t they let Tommy Chong out of prison?
Back in the safe room I go...
- Andy
Bush got Tommy Chong, Martha Stewart and Paris Hilton.
Who did Bushlet get away?
Jeffrey Ray Nielsen—the well-connected Orange County conservative activist who claimed the so-called
liberal media, specifically the Weekly, was out to get him by publishing a series of exposés on his pedophile
activities—finally admitted on Dec. 5 that he used two boys for sex since the early 1990s.
In open court, a somber Nielsen, who has extensive personal ties to Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-Perv)
gave Judge Thompson signed guilty pleas acknowledging two felonies: committing lewd acts on a 12-year-old
Virginia boy and 14-year-old Orange County boy.
In exchange, Nielsen, 37, received a three-year prison sentence, which is relatively mild considering he faced
more than a decade in state prison if convicted of the 16 charged crimes.
Cynthia & John
Hmmm, 16 rapes and he only got three years?
He must be good friends with Rohrabacker (R-Perv)
Excerpt:
More than 10 million White House emails are missing. Citizens for the Responsibility and Ethics in Washington
(CREW) described this massive hole in White House email records last April. This is a very serious and systematic
problem at the White House. Both CREW and another private group called the National Security archive are suing
the Bush administration to try to get information about all these missing emails. The White House email problems
first came to light during Fitzgerald’s investigation into the Valerie Plame leak.
It’s worth noting what a critical time period these missing emails represent - March of 2003 to October 2005.
That would include the start of the Iraq War right up through the aftermath of Katrina. It doesn’t get more historically
valuable than that. Given the way the White House handled both the war and Katrina, it’s also quite convenient that
suddenly this mountain of stuff is missing. By the way it’s against the law that these emails be destroyed or lost.
They are supposed to be saved. The Presidential Records Act of 1978 mandates White House communications
be preserved. Another law broken — Another example of nobody doing a damn thing about it.
They deleted the e-mails to hide evidence of their crimes.
If the Democrats would point this out, maybe voters would be less likely to vote GOP,
but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Bart, times are tough and getting tougher around here but here's a check
