Rollins Hid Payoff Secret

The pundits on CNN were unanimous: Ed Rollins
was a great guy and his hiring
as
national chairman for Huckabee’s campaign
gave it a solid jolt of credibility.
But the panel didn’t seem to either know or care that Rollins has withheld evidence
since 1991 about the identity of a top Filipino politician who admitted delivering an
illegal $10 million cash payment to Reagan’s 1984 campaign from Ferdinand Marcos.
Rollins, who ran Reagan’s reelection campaign, mentioned the admission in his book,
Bare Knuckles and Back Rooms, recounting how the Filipino said that he had carried
the money in a suitcase to a Republican lobbyist who was representing the Reagan campaign.
"I was the guy who gave the ten million from Marcos to your campaign," the Filipino
told Rollins. "I was the guy who made the arrangements and delivered the cash personally.
...It was a personal gift from Marcos to Reagan."
In his book, Rollins described this stunning news with a light touch.
The first thought that raced through his head, he wrote, was "Cash? Holy shit."

Another judge slaps Bush's Fascism
ACLU says "This is six years too late"

In a rebuke to Bush Fascism, a military commission judge found Monday that
Gitmo
victim Ahmed Hamdan is entitled to a determination of whether he is a POW
protected
by the Geneva Conventions, which govern the rights and treatment of captives in wartime.
"It’s always a positive step when the military commissions proceed in accordance with the
United States’ international law obligations. However, the judge’s decision doesn’t resolve
the flaws inherent to the makeshift commissions system – it’s like sticking a band-aid on a
broken leg,” said Hina Shamsi with the ACLU. “Under the Geneva Conventions, Hamdan
should have received this hearing six years ago, when he was first captured by U.S. forces
instead of now, as an add-on to an entirely new and procedurally flawed process. That we
are still stuck on such preliminary, yet fundamental, issues is a stark reminder of just how
far astray we’ve traveled because of the Bush administration’s policies.”
At a hearing at Guantánamo earlier this month, attorneys for Hamdan, who is accused of
whatever crap the Bush bastards fabricate, asked the military judge to grant their client a
status hearing. Military Judge Keith Allred decided in Hamdan’s favor in a ruling that
became public today. If the judge determines that Hamdan is a prisoner of war, he will
be entitled to trial in a court martial proceeding under U.S. military law.
A trial?
For someone accused of a crime?

A US woman who said she was raped by Cheney's Halliburton thugs testified in Congress,
telling legislators that she was kept under armed guard in her trailer after reporting the attack.
Jamie Leigh Jones, now 23, said that she was gang raped inside the Baghdad Green Zone
in July 2005 while she was working for Halliburton.
The US Department of Justice failed to send an attorney to the House hearing,
which John Conyers blasted as "outrageous" and "unacceptable."
Jones testified that Halliburton-KBR firefighters invited her for a drink. "I took two sips

The next morning Jones woke up groggy and confused, and with a sore chest and blood

Is Jennifer Love Hewitt fat?
This isn't about Hewitt, this is about the media and how they work.
Recently, People Magazine ran this picture of Hewitt in Hawaii.
Not to get personal, but if you make 20-50 million dollars a year
because of your looks, it's kinda incumbent on you to stay in shape.
But the media ran to her rescue, I assume because she's not crazy,
not getting arrested and not in fights and not OD-ing on drugs every week.
Fine, we all agree, she's not Paris, Britney, Lindsay etc.
But then shows like Inside Edition and Entertainment Tonight ran this photo,
...and said, "How can anyone call this adorable underwear model fat?"
Isn't that confusing?
They intentionally turned their heads away from People Magazine and put up
this Hanes picture from 2005 and questioned the sanity of her "accusers."
If nothing else, it's just another way the whore media sends THEIR MESSAGE out.
It's not about the news, or what's important, it's about what THEY want you to know.
Maybe People Magazine has a clash with CBS, which runs Hewitt's show, but clearly
there's money to be made by slamming the idea that this wealthy sex object might have
gained weight and there's also money to be made by telling you Hillary is waaaay too old.
