as a "527" organization. Roger Stone signed
on as the group's "assistant treasurer." Uh oh.
Note: Roger goes by "Dick Stone" when he advertises for
strangers to screw his wife in Washington DC sex magazines.
Stone, regular TPM readers know, is a Republican
operative who prides himself as something
of an elder statesman of GOP dirty tricks. He
worked for Reagan's campaigns, Dole's presidential
campaign, two of Arlen Specter's campaigns, among
others. James Baker tapped him to lead
street protests in Florida to shut down the recount
in 2000. Most recently, he was hired by
New York Republicans for their battle with Gov.
Elliot Spitzer (D), a gig that exploded when
he was accused of making a threatening phone
call to Spitzer's 83 year-old father (Stone denied it).
So what's Stone up to? Fortunately, he laid the
whole scheme out to The Weekly Standard.
It's interesting to hear Barak Obama whine about
his election battle with
the Clintons who are being gentle with him because
they are all Democrats.
If he can't handle election battles now how is
going to hold up when he's
running against Republicans who are not going
to be nearly as nice?
If you are going to win against Republicans you
more than just hope.
You need to have a lot of fight in you.
Politics is not a game for the weak and timid.

I agree. If Obama thinks the Clintons aren't playing fair,
he has no idea what he's in for when the GOP slime machine attacks.
"Bush issued hundreds of false statements about
Iraq. How come Bill Clinton isn't getting angry
about this, instead of unloading on an African-American Democratic
candidate?
ha ha What?
Bill spent the last seven years cozying
up to the Bushes and acting "Presidential Emeritus"-- Mr. Above-the-Fray,
now he suddenly gets all agitated about a fellow Democrat?
Does that make any sense?" --BuzzFlash writer with a damn confusing
take on the primaries, Link
When did the Iraq war become
Bill Clinton's fight?
He's not unloading on "an
African-American," he's campaigning with
his wife
in a Democratic primary. Why
in the world would anyone bring race into this?
When the time is right, the
Clintons will kick Republican ass - who denies that?
He hasn't spent "seven years
cozying up" to anybody. There was a big tsunami
where hundreds of thousaands of people died,
and he and Poppy Bush tried to help.
I wonder if the Clintons knew the shit they would get
from their fellow Democrats
for helping people in those dirt-poor nations try to get
back on their feet?
Just curious, what did Obama
do to help those dirt-poor people? Give a speech?
Why is this writer SO SHOCKED
that Bill is helping his wife campaign?
And what would they be saying if he WASN'T helping her?
The writer wants to know "Does
this make any sense?" Well of course is does.
Why is Michelle campaigning with her husband?
Because that's what spouses do?
Sure, just like Pickles campaigned for Der Monkey.
Where's the shock?
Why is this writer pretending
he/she's so gash-darned confused by all this?

end up reporting the highest profit ever for a U.S. company.
With oil prices having recently crossed the $100

I've vistied your site today for the first time

Actually, I just want to end the BFEE era.

Worst president ever. I'm an independent and
I currently support
Obama since I can vote in either primary come
February 5.
My one hope if Obama is not the Democratic nominee
is that John McCain
will be the GOP nominee because I would certainly
vote for McCain over Clinton.
Many, many, many Democrats feel the same way.
It is my opinion that a second Clinton adminsitration
would be more corrupt,
crooked, and would smash the constitution even
worse than Bush II has.
That's a prediction.
Are you one of those people who can see into
the future?
It would be sad to see #44 take away the title
of "Worst President Ever"
from #43, but the nation will be doomed
to that fate if Hillary Clinton becomes #44
Sincerely,
Walt S
Many Democrats will eat that up with a spoon - a BIG spoon.
The Obama camp is slyly insinuating that the Clintons are doing this.
I believe Obama has no idea how low the GOP slime machine will go.
The GOP slime machine accused Clinton of everything under the sun,
they made Gore out to be a serial liar (with Russert's help)
they made Kerry out to be a PurpleHeart Medal-stealing coward (with
Russert's help)
so I must assume Barack's head will spin if/when they launch against
him.

Why is that black congressmen telling Bill Clinton
to not criticize Obama?
Doesn't Obama need to be vetted somewhat before
he becomes our nominee?
Imagine all the opposition research GOP think
tanks are doing against Obama!
He will be like a battered babe in the woods
when those snarling wolves are done with him.
Can you see President Obama getting any of the
GOP to budge an inch on anything?
Martin Luther King said it best:

I hope Bill Clinton continues challenging Obama
on his policy shortcomings!

I forget that Black congressman's name - because I never heard of him

But - if you criticize the Clintons, CNN calls you "a party leader."

The Suicidal Democrats are mixing the Kool-Aid.
"All the anti-Clinton posts here, are either
right-wingers slobbering their vomit against Bill Clinton, who bested them at every
level, but particularly at the level of their pathological hatred of democracy.
The few democrats on this list, give up too easily, in their support for Bill Clinton...if
you compare the wrongs these two men have visited on society, Clinton's wrongs
don't register; they're non-existent. Bush's wrongs, on the other hand, are so monumental,
any realistic comparison with the wrongdoing of virtually any other
president, is a huge joke. Bill Clinton has done nothing wrong in his defense of Hillary." -- johncp, lastchancedemocracycafe.com
Johncp is brave - Democrats don't want to hear anything positive
about the Clintons.
Saying something positive about the Clintons is considered racist to
some people.
Thanks for all the good work and debunking the
Regan myth this time round.
I recently attended a sort of ecumenical meeting
between Christians, Muslims and "others,"
which I guess is why I was there. For the Xtians,
there was a self-made Baptist.
He spoke sweet words, very engaging stuff, but
throughout his talk of a "loving god
who gave his son," etc... there was a second
soundtrack running about burning in hell
if you didn't believe 100%... And that is the
Baptist message, and remember, both R
eagan and This Monkey are bornagainers.
These people are as fake as their liturgy, which
is near moronic. When you hear a
Baptist preacher or politician, remember the
180 degree rule: It's always the opposite.
The god of love is the god of hate, compassionate
means punishing, honesty means lying,
peace means war, life is death. Blessed are the
meek means long live the superrich.
Hillary has eight years in the White House (as
the wife of the president).
Since I have been married to my wife for 25 years
and for the last 18 years
she has been a nurse; using your reasoning I
am qualified to be a nurse.
So if you would please roll over I will give you
your injection now.
Mark S
Mark, that's cute but flawed.
If you watch a hospital's ER team work 18 hours
a day for 8 years,
you probably couldn't pass the nurse's exam but
you'd be damn valuable
if a terror attack sent 2000 severely injured
people to the ER - don't you think?
It would've made a lot more sense for Obama to
watch and learn for, say,
eight years before he decided he was THE MOST
qualified man in America
to be president - but maybe his ego got in the
way of his common sense.
Excerpt: Obama angered fellow Democrats in the Illinois
Senate when he voted to strip
millions of dollars from a child welfare office
on Chicago's West Side. But Obama
had a ready explanation: He goofed.
"I was not aware that I had voted no," he said
in June 2002, asking that the record
be changed to reflect that he "intended to vote
yes."
Bart, I've been an Obama backer from the beginning
- I signed up on his website even before
he formally declared he was a candidate.
I thought for sure he would be the fair-haired boy
(well, not literally) and darling of the Dem
party. Who could not love him?
And he is, of course, my senator from Illinois.
Things are not going as I expected, still, I've not
abandoned all hope. His wife has said that
if this year is not to be his, she doesn't want to go
through it again in four years.
That's a great reason for him to have waited "his
turn."
Jumping the gun early could cost him and his
country.
It must be very grueling, with 2 young children
who must, by law, be in school every day,
and also on the campaign trail. She also
is an accomplished attorney in her own right.
However, if Hillary is the nominee, I will gladly
vote for her and wear my "I Voted" sticker with pride.
But I'm afraid there are still too many knuckle-dragging
misogynistic males who would not vote for
a woman, even if it were Mother Theresa.
Trust me. I know too many of them myself.
You would think that the perfect fit for the majority
would be John Edwards, but he's not
getting much action. Anyway, I'm not young
not black and not male. But I'm backin' Barack.
In November, may the best Democrat win!
Sooz in Illinois
If most Republicans were married to blacks, Obama would have a better
chance.
However, most Republicans (men) ARE married to women, even if they
get their
sexual kicks in a bathroom stall at their local airport.
I'll bet those women are telling their Cro-Mag spouses, "You
bet, I'm voting GOP," when in reality, they juuuuust might want to see how well a woman could
handle the job.
Excuse me Bart, but "poor people don't vote to
make the rich richer".
EVERYONE keeps forgetting that the last 2 elections
were STOLEN
by the Repugs and their computer run machines
that no one can check
for accuracy...and they're going to do it again
in '08....everyone is watching
the primaries, no one is watching the voting
machines!
Tampa
I'm not sure of the status of the crooked voting machines, but I disagree
when it comes to the poor. There are twenty times more poor people
than rich people but the rich seem to win every election - that's crazy.
Poor people just don't to vote.
Just think - if every poor-but-eligible voter went for the same candidate,
he or she would win by 4-to-1, so why don't they use that power?
John Edwards should be ahead by 30 points, but his "help the poor" message
doesn't even register with the poorest people that he working for the
hardest.
Why do the poorest Americans vote for the super-rich to have more?
Because the Democrats have failed to educated the ignorant people.
In the primary season I can understand if the
different campaigns and supporters
going after each other, but this Obama cheerleading
is gone to a point of insanity.
Take Ed Schultz - Ed had Paul Begala on his show
today and all Ed was doing is
trying to spin Obama comments regarding Reagan
and the GOP and his voting record
stance on Iraq. Excuse me Ed, if
Obama portrays himself as the anti war candidate
and his voting record doesn't reflect that (something
Obama supporters don't want to talk about)
that's not dishonesty on Bill Clinton's part.
And I'm very suspicious when right wing pundits
praise Obama, I remember how these same
pundits went after John Kerry. As lame as John
Kerry was, they still went after him like he was
the next Joseph Stalin. Yet Obama is OK
in their book, yet people want to by pass that.
I'm a black male and I have doubts about Obama's
chances due to recent history during
the 2006 election here in Michigan there was
something called Prop 2 and what Prop 2 did
was to ban affirmative action and it passed overwhelming.
I also remember Harold Ford in
Tennessee - the only reason Bob Cocker beat Ford
he appeal to the racists in that state.
So with those two instances happening not that
long ago I have doubts they're going to
be a long line of people willingly to vote for
a black man to be their leader.
JCSR
You might be onto something - I can see the GOP saying, "Of
course it's time for America to have a Black president - if the Democrats
really
have the courage to look forward."
But you're right about Tennessee - and Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi,
Georgia, Florida,
Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Kentucky, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Indiana
and the Carolinas.
> Of the three, doesn't Edwards have the best
message? > That we need to take power back from the
corporations?
Yes, yes, and more yes. If you recognize
that,
why are you so preoccupied with Hillary?
Are you voting or betting?
I want to win, and for whatever reasons, Democrats
refuse to vote for Edwards.
They also refuse to vote for Kucinich, Dodd,
Biden, Richardson and Gravel.
My fantasy, and it probably is a fantasy, is that
Hillary and Obama exhaust each other in a
suburban cockfight, and as the cloud of feathers
subsides, John Edwards steps forth and is
embraced for his fairly clear understanding of
what ails America (haves and have nots) and
how to fix it. All it would take is a few
vocal individuals with some influence and reach to
take off the horse race blinders and hammer home
his virtues, like yourself, for instance.
You could convert dozens.
I want a pony,
Ross M
Ross, thanks for that, but we need millions of votes to win.
Thanks for having a sense of humor about the pony :)
I have read your site for a long time and it has
helped get through this hell of 8 years.
First off I am a Hillary supporter but will vote
democrat down the line no matter who
is the nominee. But this Barack why-can't-we-be-friends
love fest scares me.
He praises Reagan the most damaging president
ever, a man who trickled down over
the poor and sucked the bones out of every government
service he could to build a m
ilitary for an attack that was never going to
happen.
I am afraid the right sees Obama as a lump of
clay they can mold and get
what ever they want or squish on they way to
ruining us for another 4 years.
Shelby
I'm also worried about the new guy's reach-across-the-aisle thing.
That sounds like a trap waiting to spring shut.
If he won, wouldn't the GOP come to him with some wet dream like "Star
Wars,"
and say, "You promised to work with us, were
you telling the truth?"
Plus, our old friend Bob Parry will certainly turn on Obama unless Obama
calls
for hearings on every crime the Bush bastards may have committed. How
can Obama
reach-across-the-aisle while trying to jail Bush, Cheney, Rice, Wolfie,
Powell etc?
When I ran for the California legislature in the
late 90s, at one Democratic meeting,
a very friendly one, I made a comment about Reagan's
impressive political talents
and instincts. Afterwards, one of the members
of the audience pointed out that you
never speak well of Reagan in front of Democrats.
We both chalked it up to me being really green.
I never did it again.
I would expect Obama, now running for president,
to already know this basic point.
E. L.
That reminds me of another point:
If Obama can't handle the Clintons "distorting what he said," isn't
that more proof
that he has no idea what the GOP slime machine will do to him?
Is Michelle Obama ready to be photoshopped having sex with animals
and bin Laden and every other monster the GOP bastards can think of?
How about his two little kids?
Remember what Rush did to Chelsea?
How would Obama handle personal attacks on his young kids?
And what will happen to the Democrats, our country and Planet Earth
if we
find out too late that Obama isn't up to the pressures of the GOP slime
machine?
Excerpt: Prior to Clinton's arrival in Washington, D.
C., it was no small secret that there were an
unusually large number of people "in the know"
who suddenly died of suspicious circumstances.
Personal bodyguards, security personnel and even
financial associates who had prior careers in
the military or in law enforcement and had since
worked for Clinton when he was the governor
of Arkansas, had "car accidents" and committed
"suicide" in ever-increasing numbers.
These people knew too much about the drug deals
and financial dealings at the Rose Law Firm
where Hillary Clinton was a partner. Even two
young boys who witnessed the Mena, Arkansas,
drug shipments arriving by train were murdered,
in order to protect these dark secrets.
The dark secrets followed the Clintons to Washington,
D.C.
This is manna from Heaven for the Clinton haters, but, of course, it's
all bullshit.
To the person who sent me this link (lost your addy, sorry) remember
this:
Whenever someone tells you, "Your political
heroes are into murder," assume it's not true
unless you're enamored with the Bush bastards and the braindead man-child
who currently
holds the Western Hemisphere record for Most Murders in the 21st Century.
I can't even think of who Number 2 might be - can you?.
I heartily second the appraisal of Reagan's years.
It is un-questioned that his penchant for 'privatizing'
EVERY possible function of government
led directly to the lobbyist dominated, prostituted
lawmaking bodies, corrupt mess that permeates
our national government to this day...and it
shows no real sign of getting better.
For sheer hypocrisy, there is no match for the
fact that Reagan was elected by be-littling Carter
and blaming Carter's 'deficit government financing'
for high-inflation, high un-employment,
high interest rates, etc., etc., and then embarking
on GOP-sponsored spending that increased
the $900-BILLIONS national debt he inherited
from Carter to over $3.5-TRILLIONS by 1989.
C. D.
I have a match for sheer hypocrisy: Reagan ran on "When I'm president, you won't have to worry about
another hostage crisis," implying that he was some wild-ass cowboy who would nuke them all,
like John Wayne.
But then the bastards made a secret deal with Islamic Jihad
to KEEP OUR HOSTAGES
longer, until Carter was out of office and he repaid them for that
with Stinger Missles.
And they named an aircraft carrier after this traitor?
The
USS I-Sold-Weapons-to-Islamic-Terrorists
Carter's "mistake" was caring about those hostages enough to keep them
alive.
I think we all know how the Bush bastards feel about killing people
for profit.
WTF was that!?!?!? The two top runners squabbling
like 10 year old kids.
I AM going to vote straight ticket Democrat,
but last night's demonstration makes me
a little ashamed to say I am a Demlican ( mostly
Democrat, partly Republican).
And, I am afraid to say, that what Edwards said
when he broke up the debacle
about this squabbling not getting health care
to kids struck true to me.
( I am ashamed, Bart, that I even have anything
good to say about him
(other than his Ken doll hair, that is) in the
first place.
With that in mind, I would like to declare my
candidacy, running as a Demlican,
and my motto is: "You can't possibly do worse
with me".
SG
SG, a few things to keep in mind:
They were fighting (mostly)
about issues - that's a good thing.
Edwards played referee because
he got 4% in the Nevada primary.
It's easy for someone with no chance to win to seem "above
the fray."
Maybe if Edwards fought harder
he'd still be in contention.

Full Abortions Shown On Spanish Television
- First In History
Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, noted
the importance of the event.
"I believe that if we have a straight up debate
on abortion, on exactly what abortion is,
exactly what it does to the baby, the detrimental
effects on the mother, the pro-life
movement wins hands down one hundred percent
of the time," he told LifeSiteNews.
Horse hockey. He couldn't even win a debate with me because
I'd admit up-front
that abortion stops a beating heart - where does
he go from there?.
Asked why the American media has never shown such
images to the public, he said
"There is an coverup in the media to deny the
truth about what goes on during an abortion,"
attributing the situation to liberal, pro-abortion
bias.
Carson De Monk
So why doesn't FOX News tell "the truth?"
That's the trouble with the Handjob Party - they
make no sense.
They want to brag, "FOX News is Number One,"
while
screaming
"We can't get our message out because of the
liberal media - Wahhhh!!!."
When Clinton was president, he offered Gingrich a deal to prevent up
to 90
percent of all "partial birth abortions," but Gingrich turned that
deal down because
he wanted to save all of those "babies," so the other 90% died on Dr
Newt's orders.
He saw that he could raise more money and her more loyal support from
the
Religious Right if he could keep that issue alive. As a bonus, he protrayed
Clinton as the bad guy in that exchange - and what was Clinton's crime?
No, not sex, not this time - his crime was holding out for that last
10% loophole
for the health of the mother and Gingrich said, "Screw those
mothers" and
broke off negotiations.
So go after Newt if you're looking for the bad guy.
