Catching
up...
My five day break from the page has produced benefits.
Sometimes, in the lava-hot, trench warfare
we find ourselves in,
it's possible that a fella could speak
in the excitement of the moment
and accidentally create enemies out of long-time
friends.
I'm back from my semi-self-imposed hiatus, with
- perhaps - a broader view.
I figure by now, my opinion of this Demo contest
is kinda well-known.
I can't wait one more f-ing day to scream,
"OK, now let's go get those Bush-McCain bastards!!!"
...but that can't happen - until we have a nominee.
Oh, by the way, I can't begin to tell the
tale of our New
York '08 Trip Report
until the evidence lands on our
front porch. If I told you this tale without proof, you might
not believe me.
Plus, it'll probably be the longest trip report
ever, so the extra days will let me do some writing.
Plus I need to see if I can get releases from the players in this story.

McCain's
'health care plan'
Link
Excerpt:
Next week, Senator McCain will visit various
health care facilities and unveil his plans
and solutions to help Americans improve access
and affordability to good health care.
Will someone in the media point out that, as of
yet, McCain refuses to publish a health care plan?
Rather, his website lists a series of bullet
points with vaguely worded goals, " Facilitate the
development of national standards for measuring
and recording treatments and outcomes."
I doubt McCain understands such initiatives, but
all the media must do is compare his "plan"
with either Clinton's or Obama's. Each of their
health care plans can be found on their website,
are 25-30 page documents with integrated graphs,
latest statistics, links to sources, etc.
Best of all, their plans actually promise universal
health care.
America's whore press keeps telling us McCain is ahead in the polls.
I don't believe that any more than I believe Bush is a Christian.
The war, the economy, four more years of going the wronf firection...
Granted, Democrats can be counted on to screw up everything,
but even they can't screw this up - can they?

Top Bush
aides pushed for torture
But Bush keeps lying "We don't torture!"
Link
Excerpt:
In his new book, Torture Team,
Philippe Sands, professor of law at University College London, reveals
that:
Senior Bush administration figures pushed
through previously outlawed measures with the aid
of inexperienced military officials at
Guantánamo.
Myers believes he was a victim of "intrigue"
by top lawyers at the department of justice, the office of
Dick Cheney, and at Donald Rumsfeld's
defence department.
The Guantánamo lawyers charged
with devising interrogation techniques were inspired by the exploits
of Jack Bauer in the American TV series
24.
Myers wrongly believed interrogation
techniques had been taken from the army's field manual.
Perfect!
The Fascist bastards are getting torture ideas from Jack Bauer?
You know how this will end - just like Abu Graib.
They'll hang some sargeants and privates out to dry while the big fish
insist that they never gave any orders that were unlawful.

Quotes
"The results in Pennsylvania suggest that problems
exist. A poll found that Clinton
drew 63 percent of the white vote while Obama
drew 90 percent of the black vote,
mirroring a pattern in many other states.
More strikingly, the poll found that 18 percent
of Democrats said that race mattered to them
in this contest - and just 63 percent of
those voters said they would support Mr. Obama
in a general election."
-- Adam Nagourney, NYWTimes,

Are Democrats saying America isn't ready for a
Black president?
That's a question, not a racial slur.

jtcollective.com
The JT Collective is starting a revolution in
music. We're gathering a group of artists
in a unique community and building a brand we
hope fans will come to appreciate
as a great source of Indie music. Advances in
digital recording and the marketplace of
the world wide web offer us the ability to bring
music directly to the consumer-fan.
We no longer need the gatekeepers of the music
industry, who line their pockets by
exploiting the artist's gift and push us toward
a lowest common denominator culture.
* Connect. Join a community
with other fans of independent music.
* Listen. Individual artists
have a vote in who is admitted into the collective,
so you'll find artists who have proven themselves
to their peers.
* Support. The majority of
music sales go right to the artists
- skip the middleman and know that you're supporting
your favorite artists.

Push for Legal Pot
Link
Excerpt:
The first federal marijuana decriminalization
bill in 25 years was just introduced in Congress.
Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) and Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX)
introduced H.R. 5843, the "Personal Use
of Marijuana by Responsible Adults Act of 2008."
Please urge your representative to support this important legislation.
A deluge of messages from constituents will help
members of Congress feel more confident in declaring
their support for the bill. We don't expect the
bill to become law just yet, but it will help us find out which
members of Congress support marijuana decriminalization
and which do not. The more representatives
who co-sponsor it, the more support we can show
for marijuana law reform.
The more I know about him, I'm getting to like Ron Paul
He's a conservative who actually wants less government.

Clinton beat Obama by double digits even though
she was outspent by over 3 to 1.
He's good at raising money. She's good at winning

The Luckiest
Woman in the World
Link
Excerpt:
Hillary Clinton is the luckiest woman in the
world. Just when it looks like she'll have no chance
to become the party's nominee, extraordinary
good news comes her way, just at the last minute.
Again.
Take, for example, the Pennsylvania Primary. For
weeks we heard endlessly how she would need
a double-digit victory margin in the Keystone
State to offer a legitimate reason for her to stay in the race.
And she achieved the ability to trumpet that
double-digit margin by a single tenth of a percent.
The stunning turn of good fortune comes on the
heels of Clinton's last make or break moment
back in New Hampshire, when conventional wisdom
had all but counted her out after her loss to
Obama in the Iowa Caucus. But, there again, Clinton
came through, despite both pre-election
and exit poll numbers which all, almost uniformly,
predicted she'd face a thumpin'.
Stupid me - I thought it was hard work and 18-hour days that gave her
that win.
But maybe all it takes is some luck...

Subject: You Have Frigging Lost
It
I am so disappointed in you.
Oh, I'll still read, but I have lost so much
respect for you.
Keith the Obama fan wrote in and asked you a few
questions about Hillary.
You didn't really answer, which is fine.
I expect that from you these days.
How can Obama-ites be "sick to death" of Hillary
and still need someone to explain her to them?
You avoid the issues about her (lack of) experience.
Its part of the new you.
What could I possibly say that will make Obana
fans say, "That's a good point?"
Sidebar:
I watched a NCIS last night with Mrs Bart.
"Ducky" was doing an autopsy and his assistant
helped.
If
his assistant watched Ducky do, say, 1,000 autopsies over 8 years, do you
think he'd
be more qualified to take over for Ducky when
he left or would a new fella, two years in town,
who had never been in the building, probably
do a better job?
But what is really sad is you put someone who
is an Obama fan,
someone who isn't a Republican, in MONKEY MAIL.
Keith called me a "disgusting
hypocritical fuck" and you want me to
be nice to him?
Have we met? Hi, my name's Bart.
I don't think people read this page to see me
back down like a senate Democrat
when some junior grade ass screams at me.
No wonder you want Hillary to win.
Just like her, you are willing to throw shit
at people who are on the same side.
Oh, and screaming"disgusting
hypocritical fuck" is just a little conversation?
I think you're looking at this thru Obama-colored
lenses.
Republicans are the monkeys. Don't you remember?
What he hell happened to you?
Thanks for explaining to me what makes
a monkey a monkey.
What you did is akin to Hillary claiming she and
McCain have the experience
while Obama had a speech. Disgusting.
Your credibility is waning, big time.
GreatKingRat
GKR, I take it you're an Obama fan.

Trading
arms for oil
Link
Excerpt:
Democrats in the U.S. Senate stepped up their
attacks on OPEC oil producers on Thursday,
threatening to block multibillion-dollar arms
sales to suppliers such as Saudi Arabia if they fail
to take action to tame record oil prices.
Schumer of New York, Dorgan of North Dakota and
others have called on the White House to
use its leverage to convince OPEC members to
boost output or "risk Congress holding up arms deals
with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and
other OPEC members," according to the lawmakers.
"The Bush administration has refused to be tough
with so-called OPEC allies and in fact continues
to provide huge arms deals, despite the economic
pains taxpayers are feeling," the senators stated.
Oil went to $120 in the last few days.
The crooked sons of bitches are raking in billions
while Bush just fiddles.
This economy has to be strangling McCain, and
it may also hurt Obama because people
remember what happened when Clinton "focused
like a laser" on the economy in 1993.
He tripled the stock market and didn't lose a single soldier
that he sent into battle,
yet millions of Democrats say they want no part of a repeat
of peace and prosperity

McCain's
Shadow
Link
Excerpt:
While Hillary and Obama have spent the week moving
their battle from Pennsylvania to Indiana
and Carolina, McCain
has been fighting the dark overhang that Bush casts on his campaign.
The question of how a presidential nominee deals
with a sitting president of his own party is one
of the trickiest dilemmas in a campaign - a challenge
that is underappreciated by most observers.
It is no accident that in the elections since
World War II when a candidate has tried to succeed the
sitting president of his own party (1952, 1960,
1968, 1988 and 2000), that candidate has failed to
capture the White House four out of five times.
Elements of Nixon's inability to escape Eisenhower's
leadership within his party, Humphrey's link
to Johnson's unpopular war and Gore's refusal
to use
Bill Clinton all are present in the complex dance
that McCain is undertaking
vis-à-vis Bush in 2008.
In other words, McCain
can't swim with the 200 pound Bush anchor around his neck,
but the press wants a contest so they can sell more ads, so they pretend
McCain is winning
or breaking even with the only two people who could rescue us from
the Bush Error.
