$120 Oil
is damn cheap
...compared to what's coming
Link
Excerpt:
OPEC President Chakib Khelil does not rule out
oil prices reaching $200 a barrel, even though
supply is adequate, because the market is driven
by the dollar's slide, an Algerian newspaper reports.
Questioned about a possible rise which would go
to $200, the minister did not rule out this eventuality,
explaining that prices are indexed to the fall
in the dollar or to the rise in the dollar," they reported.
He added: "The prices are high due to the fact
of the recession in the United States and the economic
crisis which has touched several countries, a
situation which has an effect on the devaluation of the dollar,
and therefore each time the dollar falls one
percent, the price of the barrel rises by $4, and vice versa,"
he was quoted as saying in brief remarks to journalists
on Sunday.
Is this why Bush bankrupted America and the world?
So oil prices could go from $40
a barrel to $200?
Mr. President - you're breaking America's backbone!

The Republican
Erosion of America
writechic.wordpress.com
Excerpt:
Did you know that ALL recessions since the 1930's,
save one, have taken place under Republican presidents?
True fact. The single exception occurred
at the conclusion of World War II during the Truman administration
and it was one predictable consequence of ending
a war. It was also the shortest, as well as the shallowest.
Contrast that with the fact that we are now enduring
our SECOND recession due to the Bush thugs.
The irrepressible BartCop, whom I quite enjoy,
is fond of saying "It's the Republicans' job to crash
the economy so the super-rich can swoop in
and buy companies and assets for pennies on the dollar."
Now, this is a bit on the simplistic side, but
in essence, it's EXACTLY what they do! And another one:
"Never trust a Republican. It's their job
to crash the economy so their billionaire friends can buy
once-healthy companies for pennies on the
dollar, fire the employees and sell the assets for profit."
Thanks to harphalo for the mention.

Obama's
Secret Plans
Obama throws
Rev Wright under the bus
His arm's going to get tired if he keeps this up...
Link
Excerpt:
Barack Obama angrily denounced his former pastor
for "divisive and destructive" remarks on race,
seeking to divorce himself from the incendiary
speaker and a fury that threatens to engulf his
front-running Democratic presidential campaign.
"I am outraged by the comments that were made
and saddened over the spectacle that we saw yesterday,"
Obama told reporters at a news conference Tuesday.
On Monday, Wright criticized the U.S. government
as imperialist and stood by his suggestion that
the United States invented the HIV virus as a means of genocide
against minorities. "Based on this Tuskegee experiment
and based on what has happened to Africans in this
country, I believe our government is capable
of doing anything," he said.
And perhaps even worse for Obama, Wright suggested
that the church congregant secretly concurs.
"If Senator Obama did not say what he said, he
would never get elected," Wright said. "Politicians say
what they say and do what they do based on electability,
based on sound bites, based on polls."
Maybe worse than the words he used, CNN showed
footage of Wright dancing behind the podium.
I think Wright likes the spotlight, but he's
making the mistake of thinking those whore-jackals of
the press are really interetesed in what he has
to say.
All they want is a story, so they ask Wright loaded
questions knowing that he's not going to
sugar-coat his answers, then the whore-jackals
run to Obama to get a reaction quote.
CNN, always ready to pile on, says it would be
terrible
if a Black man was responsible
for preventing the first viable Black candidate
from winning the race, suggesting that Wright
has completely poisoned Obama's chances.

MSGOP, Network
of Liars and Whores?
by Bob Parry
Link
Excerpt:
In the fall of 2002, there was no room for me
after MSNBC launched Countdown: Iraq - a show that
seemed more keen on glamorizing a potential war
than scrutinizing or debating it. Countdown: Iraq featured
retired colonels and generals, sometimes resembling
boys with war toys as they used props, maps and glitzy
graphics to spin invasion scenarios.
They reminded me of pumped-up ex-football players
doing pre-game analysis and diagramming plays.
It was excruciating to be sidelined at MSNBC,
watching so many non-debates in which myth and misinformation
were served up unchallenged.
It was bad enough to be silenced. Much worse to
see that these ex-generals - many working for military
corporations - were never in debates, nor asked
a tough question by an anchor. (I wasn't allowed on
MSNBC unless balanced by at least one truculent
right-winger.)
That sounds like the old Bob Parry, the one I respected and trusted.
But when that same gaggle of whores puts their prime time and their
prime players on a horseshit
Jihad
against the front-running Democrat, when Parry found himself
"watching
so many non-debates in which
myth and misinformation were served up unchallenged,"
he stood and cheered and saluted that shit
and then fell in line behind Matthews and Olbermann and threw all objectivity
and credibility away.
It's sad to watch the prom queen turning tricks on the corner so soon
after leaving high school.

Excerpt:
The debate that has now begun comes too late
for Hillary. The superdelegates have no choice but to
nominate Obama. They will have to suppress the
growing fear that the Democrats cannot beat McCain
if Obama is their candidate. Still, as long as
Obama can hold onto his delegate lead, he will be the candidate.
In fact, there is now almost a national political
obligation to nominate Obama. A vote by superdelegates
against Obama would set off shock waves within
American society, with incalculable consequences.
Young people would be outraged, intellectuals
would be bitter and violence could erupt in predominantly
black urban neighborhoods around the country.
May I ask a question?
If
our choices are doing the right thing and losing with Obama because fair
is fair OR
doing the wrong thing and winning with fewer-delegates
Hillary, what should super-delegates do?

Slaps Rudy for Communion
First time the Church criticized a warmongering Repub
Link
Excerpt:
An angry Cardinal Egan pounded pro-choice Rudy
on Monday for taking Holy Communion
at Benny the Rat's Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral
last week.
Egan said he had "an understanding" with the failed
Republican "that he was not to receive the
Eucharist because of his well-known support of
abortion." And yet the twice-divorced Giuliani,
accompanied by his goomah, received Communion
on April 19.
"I deeply regret that Mr. Giuliani received the
Eucharist during the papal visit here in New York,
and I will be seeking a meeting with him to insist
that he abide by our understanding," he fumed.
Isn't religion crazy?
Egan and the Pope apparently have no problem with
Bush breaking his own record for
most murders by a Western Hemispherian (Murders
for profit, I should add) and they have
no problem with kidnappings, rape and torture,
but if someone respects women's rights,
they're in BIG trouble with upper-tier Catholics.

Just four months ago, Hillary was ahead of Obama

Violent
Thoughts...
For some reason, on the plane, my mind went back
to a sentence from one of the many
Halliburton rape-without-penalty victims - something
she said bothered me. Well a lot did,
but she said when she was being ravaged anally
(Why do these he-man soldiers always go anal?)
she recognized a co-worker holding her arms and
for a second she thought he'd come to rescue her,
but instead, he began raping her orally.
The part that stuck out was "recognized a co-worker."
That means she knows his name, what he looks
like, where he works, etc.
Now - we're not even going to talk about what
I'd do if that woman was close to me,
but even if this was some girl I kinda knew,
my mind would be flooded with violent thoughts.
Does the rape victim have any brothers?
Is her father still alive?
Doesn't she have 5-10 men that know and respect
her?
...and that mother-fucking, piece of shit
rapist can still walk?
I'm sorry, I know I'm not being a good liberal when I say this, but
if that happened to
someone I knew, maybe the sister of a friend, or a girl I knew from
college, I think I'd
find some money that I didn't really need and I'd go hire me some ruthless
f-ing goons
and I'm not exactly sure what I'd do but I would certainly change the
rest of his life.
I don't think a good beating would do it, because he'd eventually recover
from that.
Sidebar:
I detailed a few possible scenarios, but then I deleted that section
because I'm probably
already in enough trouble with the "turn the other cheek" Lefties,
but let's just say the
"forever" part of the story involved a mirror...

I'm going with "nothing".
"They" also claim that 26 percent of exit poll
respondants say if Clinton isn't the candidate, they'll vote McCain.
I believe some percentage of these are dyed-in-the-wool
Dems who will buck up and vote Dem even if it's only
their second choice. But I also believe
some of her "support" comes from the vulgar pigboy's 'Operation Chaos'.
The only question is how much?
We know that true, fundamentalist, philosophically
loyalist neocons (you know: morons) run somewhere between
14 and 19 percent of the electorate. I
believe these non-thinking automatons WILL run out and vote for Hillary

IF the 'Operation Chaos' people number as many

THIS tell us?

Troops Deaths
at Seven Month High
Link
Excerpt:
The killings of three U.S. soldiers in separate
attacks in Baghdad pushed the American death toll
for April up to 47, making it the deadliest month
since September.
One soldier died when his vehicle was struck by
a roadside bomb. The other died of wounds sustained
when he was attacked by small-arms fire. Both
incidents occurred Tuesday in northwestern Baghdad.
A third soldier died in a roadside bombing Tuesday
night in the east of the capital, the military said.
The statement did not give a more specific location.
But the eastern half of Baghdad includes embattled
Sadr City and other neighborhoods that have been
the focus of intense combat between Shiite militants
and U.S.-Iraqi troops for more than a month.
In all, at least 4,059 members of the U.S. military
have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003.
In just the last 30 days, McCain
and Bush both said, "The war in Iraq is
going so well, the Democrats
have been reduced to whining about the costs
of the war," and, of course, the Democrats
failed to use
that farce of a statement aganist them. It's
the safest bet a gambler can make - violence in the Middle East
is a way of life and they won't change that fact
- literally - to save their children's lives.
