"Nobody ever loved their Dad

Is there a better example of the press making
their opinions into facts?
Bob Scheiffer and CBS News have been giving
us "facts" like that for decades.

Russert
was No Saint
He got caught and everybody knows it
LATimes
Excerpt:
It was the natural pol's promiscuous affability
that proved Russert's Achilles' heel. Watching
the cable news networks in the hours after his
death, one was struck by just how incestuous
and claustrophobic the Washington-based nexus
of politics and journalism has become..
In all that gush across four networks in dozens
and dozens of voices, hardly a word was spoken
concerning Russert's role in the "Scooter" Libby
trial. Like "journalist" Steno Judy Miller, Russert was
one of the high-level Washington journalists
who came out of the Libby trial looking worse than shabby.
Journalists have an obligation to preserve as
complete a record as possible -- and to hold those responsible
for that record accountable. In the outpouring
of grief, affection and fellow-feeling that followed his sudden
death, that didn't happen. Perhaps that's understandable
under the circumstances, or perhaps it's another
insight into the limitations of the sort of "insider"
journalism of which Russert was an exemplar.
In fewer words, Russert was bought and paid for by our crooked government.
He was Tokyo Timmy, spreading lies for the theives that killed 4100
soldiers
and he was getting paid millions of dollars a year for doing it.

Subject: not too important?
John McCain tells Matt Lauer on The Today Show
its "not too important" when the troops come home.
I wonder how important McCain thought it was
when he was laying in his cell at the Hanoi Hilton.
His public statements are clear indication he
is not in full control of his faculties.
His staff have had to make repeated statements
clarifying the Senator's remarks.
We've already has eight years of leadership by
an individual who has the emotional
maturity of a ten year old; we certainly do not
need someone who, from all indications,
may be at the onset of Alzheimers.

I listened to all the accolades and praise for
Russert today on the radio.
Then I read your page with great interest. I
was heartened to see that you'd posted
the page BEFORE you heard about his death; you
slammed him with your usual
truthful slam for his high crimes and misdemeanors

of furthering his brand of corporate 'journalism'.
They say "Of the dead say only good" but that's

harm done to this country and government than

Subject: Russert
I'm watching MSGOP's tribute to Russert, and the
lies are out-scoring the truth about 10-1.
It'd be like going to Bart's funeral, and having
speaker after speaker talk about my great committment
to the Catholic Church, how religion defined
me and how Jesus was my moral compass blah, blah, blah.
MSGOP is asking everyone who'd like to be on TV
to talk about Russert.
I heard one fool say, "Honesty
was Tim's big thing.
He HATED IT when someone didn't rell the truth."
Y'know, if Bush were to catch a chicken bone today,
the whore networks would fill the coming days
with outright horseshit
lies about what a great president he was and how he always wanted the best
for the little people and he was always wanting
to hear opposing opinions, blah, blah, blah.
When someone dies - the facts don't change.
If someone says, "Tim
was a great guy to watch a ball game with,"
fine.
If someone says, "Tim
helped me early in my career," fine.
If someone says, "Tim
always knew the right question to ask,"
fine.
But don't tell me he was honest because it insults
my intelligence - and that makes me angry.
He made the conscious decision to take millions
of dollars and spin things Rove's way.
Remember the 2000 debates?
After every "blunder" Gore made, Rove would fax it to Russert and Russert
made it a "fact."
Considering how close Gore's "loss" was, Russert
certainly swung a few votes to Bush.
How many
rows was Russert responsible for?
He might've been a decent man - I don't know.
But for a high-profile reporter, he was among
the worst of them.
When the WH called and said, "Tim,
we want you to handle the interview
where we explain that the war was just an
innocent accident," Russert should've
felt pretty goddamn insulted. Instead,
he was honored to help them lie to us.
If a college football player is horny, and he
asks the cheerleader with the
loosest reputation for "a
quick date," that's not
a compliment.
...but Russert was happy to accomodate the crooked bastards.

Subject: Roger Ailes Explains
I'm sure by now you caught Fox News' "fist bump"
and his "baby mama" crapola.
Here's
a bit more background which many of your readers may not be aware:
Excerpt:
Roger Ailes was for decades one of the savviest
and most pugnacious Republican political operatives
in Washington, a veteran of the Nixon and Reagan
campaigns. Ailes is most famous for his role in crafting
the elder Bush's media strategy in the bruising
1988 race. With Ailes' help, Bush turned a double-digit
deficit in the polls into a resounding win by
targeting the GOP's base of white male voters in the South and
West, using red-meat themes like Michael Dukakis'
"card-carrying" membership in the ACLU, his
laissez-faire attitude toward flag-burning, his
alleged indifference to the pledge of allegiance--and,
of course, paroled felon Willie Horton.
"If Dukasis
wins I'm
gonna
rape yo wife."
Described by Lee Atwater as having "two speeds--attack
and destroy," Ailes told a Whore Time reporter:
"The only question is whether we depict Willie
Horton with a knife in his hand or without it." Later, as a producer
for Herr vulgar Pigboy's short-lived hate-TV
show, he was fond of calling Clinton the "hippie president" and
lashing out at "liberal bigots" (Washington Times,
5/11/93). It is these two sensibilities above all--right-wing
talk radio and below-the-belt political campaigning--that
Ailes brought with him to Fox, and his stamp is
evident in all aspects of the network's programming
And the Democrats just stand there and take it.
For 28 years, they've allowed the Fascist dogs to make "liberal" a
dirty word.
When you don't fight back, the idiot voters thing it's because you can't.

Link
Excerpt:
Glenn Murphy Jr., 34, former head of the Clark
County Republican Party, and the victim, then 22,
had been guests at a party in the Jeffersonville
home of the victim's sister last July 28, Levco said.
Both men spent the night at the home. When the
victim woke up, "Mr. Murphy, former head
of the Clark County GOP was performing oral sex
on him against his will. He (the victim)
was asleep at the time," Levco said.
Superior Court Judge Vicki Carmichael asked Murphy,
former head of the Clark County
Republican Party whether those were the facts
to which he was admitting.
"Yes," Murphy former head of the Clark County
Republican Party, answered.

Subject: Russert observation
at DU
Bart, I feel like you're the only one who would
understand me on this.
Regarding Tim Russert, DU has more threads accusing
people of "grave dancing"
than actual "grave-dancing" threads. I'm
starting to hate that place. They get all
pious and "above it all" at times like this,
but spew hatred at their own year-round.
That's what makes a Democrat a Democrat.
We feel sorry for the other team while we eat our own.
Most everyone is being polite about the guy's
death, of course - but it just galls me
that Hillary would have to have a heart attack
<God forbid> to have anyone at DU
say a kind word about HER. Just an observation.
Lisa
Lisa, I think that's being a little optimistic.
If Hillary died today, I think we'd hear "Good riddance" from half
the Democrats.
The Left never hated Bush or Cheney the way they hate Hillary.
But you're right, today is the time to get all droopy eyed about the
crooked clown.
I assume they'll stop all programming for his funeral?

Meet Tim
Russert
Feb 29, 2008
Media
Matters
Excerpt:
During this week's Democratic presidential debate,
Russert didn't ask about global warming,
continuing his longstanding habit of all but
ignoring the topic. He didn't ask about the mortgage crisis.
Russert couldn't be bothered with a question
about it.
He didn't ask about executive power, the Constitution,
torture, wiretapping, or other civil-liberties concerns.
Of all the questions he has asked, only
one dealt with any of those topics.
He has, however, asked Dennis Kucinich what he
felt compelled to insist was a "serious question" --
whether Kucinich has seen a UFO. And he has asked
about John Edwards' expensive haircut.
Funny, Russert doesn't mention UFOs or haircuts
in his MSNBC promos.
Russert asked Obama about Louis Farrakhan's praise
for him. Obama, who had previously
denounced Farrakhan, did so again. Then Russert
asked about Farrakhan again. So Obama
reiterated his denunciation. Then Russert asked
about Farrakhan again. So Obama again reiterated
his denunciation. Russert, plowing ahead, asked
yet another question about Farrakhan, prompting
Obama to answer yet again.
Josh Marshall summed up Russert's behavior nicely:
"It was a nationwide, televised,
MSM version of one of those noxious Obama smear
emails."

Link
Excerpt:
One week into the general election, the polls
show a dead heat.
But scholars doubt that John McCain stands much
of a chance, if any.
Historians offered a litany of historical comparisons
that give little hope to Gramps.
Several saw Obama's prospects as the best for
a Democrat since FDR trounced Hoover in 1932.
"This should be an overwhelming Democratic victory,"
said Allan Lichtman, a presidential historian.
Lichtman, who has correctly predicted the last
six presidential winners, predicts that this year,
"Republicans are screwed, blued and tattooed."
"McCain shouldn't win it," said presidential historian
Joan Hoff. She compared McCain's prospects
to those of Hubert Humphrey, whose 1968 loss
to Nixon resulted from LBJ's unpopularity.
"It is one of the worst political environments
for the party in power since World War II," added
Alan Abramowitzy. His forecasting model gives
McCain about the same odds as a cow flying.
"It would be a pretty stunning upset if McCain
won," Abramowitz said.

Excerpt:
While the Clinton campaign was too dainty to
use such inflammatory imagery (against Obama)
Republican operatives won't be. As with Rev.
Jeremiah Wright's bizarre ramblings, it strikes me
as evidence of (A ) political immaturity, (B
) arrogance or (C ) both for Obama not to have given
Ayers his "Sister Souljah" moment years ago.
Also as with Wright, his first instinct was to dissemble.
Did even Obama's most enthusiastic supporters
ever believe that "God damn America" was news to him ?
Republican TV ads depicting Hillary Clinton calling
Obama "naïve" are merely the opening gambit.
Things are sure to get very rough before it's
over. The national media will join in. Just yesterday,
somebody sent me a cbsnews. com article headlined,
"Obama's Radical-Left Ties Broad and Deep."
It's filled with information that the press neglected
during the anti-Hillary bitch hunt.

Subject: Remembering Tim Russert
My Friends,
Today I would like to take a moment pay tribute
to a man I was proud to call a friend, Tim Russert.
Tim was a great journalist - tough yet always
fair - and a great American who loved his family, friends,
politics, and of course, his Buffalo Bills. Perhaps
the life roles in which he took most pleasure were that
of a father to his son Luke and as the son of
Big Russ.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family on
this Father's Day. And I know I speak
for many in saying, Sunday mornings in America
will not be the same without him.
With Warm Sincerity,
John McCain

Ugly: the
GOP's Future
Link
Excerpt:
Apart from the fact that the Democrats are about
to nominate a black man in a still racist white country,
there could hardly be a more perfect storm of
Republican-focused discontent imaginable in 2008.
African Americans are going to come out in droves
to vote for him, possibly even putting certain
Jim Crow states, such as North Carolina, into
play for the Democrats for the first time since the
civil rights movement. Moreover, young people
are going to turn out and vote in huge numbers
this year, and it won't be John McCain who is
the glimmer in their eyes. And then there are the
angry people - which is just about all of the
rest of us - who are going to be voting in big
numbers as well. They may not necessarily be
voting for Obama, but they will be gleefully voting
against anything on the ballot stupid enough
to have an R after its name (and there will be one
helluva lot less of those, by the way, in 2010
than in 2008).

This is Shirley on her first day of work on The Sarah Conner Chronicles
- the Terminator.
She plays the CEO of a hi-tech company - Catherine Weaver - who's evil,
I hope :)
They let her keep that beautiful red hair - I wonder if she'll get to keep
her accent?
Click on Shirley
for another
super-hypnotic song on video.
If you don't like this song, you don't like music or
women.
