Medicine
or Electricity?
Bush's greed has Baghdaded America
Link
Excerpt:
The National Energy Assistance Directors Association
released a new energy costs survey last week,
and the report found that Bush's high energy
prices are squeezing nearly all households nationwide,
and low-income families and individuals are being
hit the hardest.
Low-income households typically spend a greater
percentage of their income on utilities than those
in higher income brackets, and as prices rise,
they are having to make increasingly difficult choices
in order to keep the lights shining, the water
flowing, and the stove running.
As home energy and gasoline prices increase, low-income
households (under $32K a year) are
having to make serious cutbacks on basic necessities
in order to make ends meet.
If Democrats would just list the facts, they'd never lose an
election.
Why do they refuse to take the simplest steps to victory?

Subject: stop on Russert
Stop. Please, just stop. We all get
your feelings on Russert by now.
But to beat it into the ground before he's even
there himself is not just tasteless, it's disgusting.
Stop or I will have to cancel my subscription.
I can't support beating up on a man who has a
family in mourning right now,
regardless of whether it's warranted or not.
Tom
Tom, perhaps you're missing the point?
I'm mostly "beating up on" the relentless whore machinery that
gives us fake news.
I'm less ready than you are to accept 24/7 horseshit by these
millionaire liars.
We've got 4100 dead fathers from the war that Russert loved, but
since
"no man ever loved his father more,"
and
"no man ever loved his son more,"
Russert's death counts and the 4100 don't. You're OK with
that message?
I assume you own a TV?
Have you turned it on in the last week?
They've turned Russert's untimely death into a national week
of mourning.
I've been ready to move on since Monday, but the whore media still
can't believe
someone "as great as Tim" could actually die - so the worship
continues.

Kissyface
the Backstabber
USHOToday
Excerpt:
Eight years ago, he was Al Gore's biggest mistake.
Today, Kissyface is so estranged from the party
over the Iraq war and national security policy
that he is committed to siding with Senate Democrats
only "for now" as he campaigns for warmonger
John McCain.
Kissyface has gone so far into the enemy camp
that he says he hopes to persuade disaffected Hillary
supporters to back McCain. He'll speak at NaziCon
2008 in September.
Will he also attend the Democratic convention
in August?
"That could be dangerous," he says with a rueful
laugh.
Elected to a fourth term in 2006 running as an
independent, Lieberman has given Democrats
majority control in the closely divided Senate
by caucusing with them
Well, come January we won't need his traitorous ass, but Harry Reid
is OK with traitors - so he can stay.
...unless we can get Hillary to de-thrown Reid and help Obama get some
progressive legislation passed
Democrats need a mechanism to push traitors and losers out of the party.

Subject: What if McCain had a
little accident?
After reading the prediction that McCain won't
be the GOP nominee, I thought about how
things could turn if poor McCain were to get
Wellstoned about 6 weeks before election day.
Imagine the outpouring of sympathy for the war
hero, and the substitute candidate who would
just be honoring the memory of McCain. Some dutifully
humble Republican, ...like Jeb Bush.
The nation would be in a state of mourning, and
we would be accused of
hating our war heroes if we didn't vote for McCain's
replacement.
You heard it here first (and hopefully, last).
Andy
That's too terrifying to think about.

When
Torture becomes Murder
Why did God saddle us with a Giggling murderer?
Proud to
be an American
by Ted Rall
Link
Excerpt:
Tens of thousands of innocent detainees have
passed through Gitmo, Abu Ghraib and other U.S.
torture facilities. Thousands remain "disappeared,"
possibly murdered. Some may be on one of the
Navy vessels recently revealed to have been repurposed
as prison ships. Dozens have been beaten
to death or killed by willful medical neglect.
Even if McCain wins, Gitmo will probably be closed.
Torture will be re-illegalized.
But there's a problem. How do we give back the
four years we stole from Murat Kurnaz?
In December 2001, Kurnaz, 19, was a German Muslim
studying in Pakistan. He was pulled off a bus
by Pakistani security services, who delivered
him to the CIA for a $3,000 bounty. He was flown to
Gitmo where he received what "the standard treatment:
beatings, sleep deprivation, and special
month-long spells of solitary confinement in
a sealed cell without ventilation."
Six months into his ordeal, the U.S. military
determined, there was "no definite link or evidence
of detainee having an association with Al Qaeda
or making any specific threat toward the U.S."
The U.S. government knew Kurnaz was innocent.
Yet they held on to him another three and a half
years.
Oops.
In any civilized country, Bush would be called
a war criminal. But America's whore media is
so far up Bush's ass he remains our Fredo, someone
who's seen as merely having made "mistakes."
So we'll quietly wait until January 20th and
then hope he and the other Bush bastards actually leave.
"Impeachment
is off the table
so don't ask about it again."
Why is Pelosi helping to cover up Bush's
crimes?

Subject: Bixby sweet corn
What's corn going to sell for?
I heard rumors on the Internets that it might
be pushing $8/bushel.
Had corn last night for the first time in a year
- they were pretty decent,
mix of white and yellow (I forget the name -
sugar and something).
I like to grill them myself.
Strip off the husks, clean the strands, get a
good sheet of aluminum foil, put four or five
pats of butter in there, give it some salt, roll
up the foil, then re-wrap that in a second size
piece of foil (no need for more butter - just
two layers of foil. Put on the grill on medium
for whatever you need - 20 to 35 mins.
Depending on what leaks (which is that the second
slice of foil is there - to prevent flareups),
you either get perfect corn (which some like)
or, if it flared up, you'll get some carmelized corn
(which I personally like).
Butter, salt, corn, aluminum foil, and a grill.
Works great.

Poll: Obama
Ahead In FL, OH and PA
Link
This is good news, right?
Big Eddie wasn't rejoicing when he read the news Wednesday.
His thoughts were about Lanny Davis, who said many times that
Hillary
would do better than Obama in those states, so instead of being
happy
that his candidate was ahead in the polls, he taunted Lanny Davis.
"Neener neener, Lanny Davis, nyah, nyah, nyah!
You were wrong!!!" which he wasn't.
Why can't the hard-Left accept victory and smile?
Too many people, maybe the majority, think the Dem civil war is

I guess to some media whores, the end of the war means the end
of bashing the Clintons
and they're just not sure what living in a universe without Clinton-bashing

Russert
- Collaborationist?
Link
Excerpt:
Dennis Miller interviewed Vincent Bugliosi on
Wednesday. June 11, 2008, and in the course
of the banter Miller asked the author if the
author thought that the radio host was an accessory
to any possible crime by Bush. Miller wanted
to know: If Bush was guilty of murder (as the
book asserts), then should Miller be considered
an accessory to the crime?
Anyone remember that Jodie Foster Movie, The
Accused?
Summary:
Sarah Tobias goes into a bar one night and winds up being gang raped
by 3 men.
Her attorney not only wants to go after the men who commited the
rape,
she wants to go after the other men in the bar who cheered it on.
The lying whores who cheered and cheered for this war, the bastards
who screamed
"Freedom fries" when thousands
of American lives were at stake, the Clear Channel
stations that held "Kick Saddam's Ass"
rallies are as responsible
as the scumbags
in the bar cheering "Go get her" during Tobias's rape.
You don't have to penetrate a woman to be guilty of rape.
If I work at a hotel and slip you the key to some woman's room and
you rape her,
I could and should be charged with conspiracy to commit rape.
So yeah, Dennis Miller, you deserve some blame for cheering on that
drunk-with-power
snot-nosed little shit who giggles when he orders others to be maimed
and killed.
It's one thing to agree with a president's decision.
It's another thing to mock and demonize anyone who's not as pro-war
as you.
Bush went "Shock and Awe" on a city of 8 million people - and you
helped.

Subject: you got that backwards
Sidebar:
It never hurts to mention the subject we're talking
about.
Bart, with gas prices the way they are, there's
no reason we can't have a veto-proof Senate as well as
increasing our numbers in the Congress.
With that in mind, by any rational analysis, a President McCain
would have his hands tied regarding taking
any action that Dems wouldn't support, such as nominating
far-right nutjobs for the courts or eliminating
Roe v. Wade or privatizing Social Security.
Dude, have you been in the states these last eight
years?
So voting for McCain instead of Obama is not the
risk you make it out to be.
I'm guessing the answer is no.
In this case, the majority of Americans could
well come to the conclusion "better the devil you know
versus the devil you don't", secure in
the knowledge things didn't get out of hand when we did have
divided government before.
You mean we're not hated, dead-broke
and stuck in simultaneous quagmires?
Whew, I thought the last 8 years were real -
thank Koresh it was only a dream.
On the flip side, we would learn if we have a
Democratic Party that listens to its voters,
or just merely pays them lip service to stay
in power.
Why wait that long to find out we're suckers
when we can find out now?
Ken
Ken, we found out on election night 2000.
Gore didn't fight, Kerry didn't fight, Pelosi and Reid are merely bird-shitted

Where's
the McCain we know?
Link
Excerpt:
Not too long ago -- before he decided that becoming
the Republican presidential nominee required him
to cozy up to his party's most demagogic extremists
and play politics with 9/11 -- McCain was the
champion of a common-sense, values-based approach
to terrorism.
It was McCain who refused to sanction torture.
It was McCain who said Gitmo detainees "have rights
under various human rights declarations. And
one of them is the right not to be detained indefinitely."
It was McCain who advocated moving Guantanamo
detainees to Kansas' Ft. Leavenworth, where they
would come under the certain jurisdiction of
federal courts. It was McCain who insisted that we respect
the basic rights even of enemies who "don't deserve
our sympathy" because "this isn't about who they are.
This is about who we are."
John McCain, who are you now?

Inquisition,

Subject: Bart vs KOS
Bart, just a note from someone I hope you consider
a friend of your site.
I supported you a long time ago, back when there
was almost no DailyKos.
I have to admit that I went to DailyKos two and
a half years ago and I have
been hooked ever since. I haven't looked
back at you site much until lately.
But please tone down the unnecessary attacks on
Obama,
that he benefitted from "anti-Hillary press."
.
That statement is true, but it's also true that
there's not much reason to re-point that out now.
If you constantly seek to alienate yourself from
those at DailyKos,
you will miss the visits by people like me (of
which I believe there are many).
The only problem I have with KOS people is - according to KOS
polls
- they support KOS positions about 98% and that's a little puzzling.
I can't get 98% of my readers to admit the sun is hot, so something
is
going on there, but again, no sense repeating that too often, right?
Admit that DailyKos is swinging a different hammer
and try to link to them. You might
find your site traffic a-growing more.
Remember: YOU were opining that the media isn't
liberal with your Bill Clinton hypo long before
various book authors picked it up.
You were yelling the truth about how bad the
Iraq war was from the beginning,
unlike many other Johnny-come-lately's.
You've been ahead of the curve plenty of times.
If you do decide to publish this, please email
me and tell me which issue.
If you smack me down or something, I gotta at
least read what you said.
Dennis the Fan
Dennis, you were polite and you didn't scream "FU" in all-caps
so there's no need to smack you down.
Reminder: I never slimed Obama the way the Kossacks slimed Hillary
and once
he got the nomination, I'm behind him as promised - and I will help
him win in November.

Contract
Negotiations at Gunpoint
It's how the Bush bastards do business
Link
Excerpt:
Four Western oil companies are in the final stages
of negotiations this month on contracts that
will return them to Iraq, 36 years after losing
their oil concession to Saddam's nationalization.
Exxon Mobil, Shell, Total and BP - the original
partners in the Iraq Petroleum Company - along
with Chevron and a number of smaller oil companies,
are in talks with Iraq's Oil Ministry for
no-bid contracts to service Iraq's largest fields,
according to oil company officials.
The deals, to be announced June 30, will lay the
foundation for the first commercial work
for the major companies in Iraq since the American
invasion, and open a new and potentially
lucrative country for their operations."
Remember Cheney's secret oil meeting?
They were dividing up Iraq long before 9-11.
They always intended to murder Saddam and steal Iraq's oil.
It's why they stole the White House in the first place.
Have you watched "Secrets of 9-11" on cable?
Richard Clarke says he was at the White House on 9-11 and as soon as
the towers were hit, Cheney & Rummy said, "Get
ready to invade Iraq."
Clarke says he thought they were joking (Nice day for some laughs, eh?)
so he made them repeat it and they said, "We're
going to hit Iraq for this."
Clarke objected and said, "But this attack was staged from Afghanistan,"
but
Rummy said, "Iraq has better targets so we're
going to invade them, instead."
"Impeachment
is off the table
so don't ask about it again."

Subject: St. Reagan didn't

Seriously. You'd think this guy invented
bubble wrap, led the Cubs to the World Series,
and single-handedly saved America from the Legion
of Doom - more than once.
No way he rates a whole week's worth of news
cycles just for dropping dead.
When President Carter goes to meet his God, I
want two solid weeks of news coverage
from every network, and all of it nice - of his
military service, his term as Governor of Georgia,
his Presidency, and everything that followed
for which he was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.
Hell, I want the man sainted, buried next to
JFK at Arlington, and his face put on the quarter.
It's only fair. If a second-rate news 'personality'
rates nearly a solid week of eulogizing,
mourning, and so on and so forth, any former
President of the United States, even a one-term
wonder (since fully vindicated) like Jimmy Carter,
ought to rate at least double that.
SPile
SP, no way Carter will get a lot of positive coverage.
That's reserved for the Right, the conservative, the super-rich and

Some people celebrate Bush's bloody oil war...
Some don't.
x 4,100....4,101
We lost another soldier since last issue.
We now have 4,101
dead soldiers.
Do you think Bush understands
that these are real people and not
pawns in his steal-the-oil game?
Remember...
Exxon
makes $108M - $128M
every day
That's why
Bush
rapedIraq
and killedSaddam!
How do we
know for sure?
Iraq's
oil wells have NO
METERS!
That's 3/4
of $1B that
goes missing
every day!
Where's that money going?
Bush has killed more Americans than Osama.
