"We've succeeded. We're not succeeding, we've
succeeded,"
-- Grandpa McCain, deluding himself on Iraq, Link
The military is broke, the Treasury is empty, the world hates
us,
we have 4125 destroyed military families and Iran is stronger
than ever.
How does that spell success?
And if "We've succeeded,"
past tense - why can't the soldiers come home?

McCain -
the Walking Screw-up
No telling what McCain will say next
Link
Excerpt:
Old John McCain said "Iraq" on Monday when he
apparently meant "Afghanistan",
adding to a string of mixed-up word choices that
is giving ammunition to the opposition.
Just in the past three weeks, McCain has also
mistaken "Somalia" for "Sudan,"
and even football's Green Bay Packers for the
Pittsburgh Steelers. Ironically,
the errors have been concentrated in what should
be his area of expertise: foreign affairs.
McCain will turn 72 in a few weeks, calling new
attention to the sensitive issue
of McCain's advanced age three days before the
start of his own convention.
Are the gaffes the result of his age?
And what could that mean in the Oval Office?
Command stupidity usually resuklts in a wrecked ship[ and a dead crew,
kinda like what our once-formidable military forces have become under
Der Bush.

BFEE Steals
$25B from Freddie, Fannie
Their Motto: Never Steal Anything Small
Link
Excerpt:
A federal rescue of troubled mortgage giants
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could
cost taxpayers as much as $25 billion, Congress'
top budget analyst said Tuesday.
But Peter Orszag, director of the Congressional
Budget Office, said with a straight face that
there's a better than even chance the government
will not have to step in to prop up the companies
by lending them money or buying stock.
Congress is expected to vote this week on a housing
measure that would give the
Treasury Department authority to throw Fannie
and Freddie a temporary lifeline.
Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, who has been
pressing for the power,
says it's intended as a backup plan to help calm
investors and stabilize financial markets.
Sure - like with Bear-Sterns - it's "too big"
to let it fail.
That's why they robbed it instead of Mrs Johnson's
Bakery at 4th & Main St.
This money isn't missing - it was stolen by the Bush bastards!
That's why crooked billionaires steal power - to steal even more money.

Subject: Obama's 31% among
whites
Bart,
Jaskelin has it wrong. Obama is doing much
worse among whites than either Gore or Kerry.
Gore's loss by twelve points is 44% to Bush's
56%, and Kerry's loss of 17 points is 41.5%
to Bush's 58.5%. Meanwhile, Obama is at
31% to McCain's 69%.
That means Obama is 38 points down on his opponent.
I hate to say it, but between Obama moving to
the middle and scaring away his base;
to the Hillary supporters who are pissed over
the way she and they have been treated;
to the fact that Obama won the white vote in
only 6 of 54 primary contests; and finally
to the talk that Obama might not pick Hillary
for his running mate:
Obama doesn't stand a chance in hell in November.
You know me, Bart, I'm as staunch a Democrat
as there is and even I don't have hope
that he can pull this out short of McCain getting
busted on "To Catch a Predator".
-Houston
Houston, I think you're wrong and I really hope you're wrong.

Death of
Free Internet Imminent?
The super-rich can't stand anything that's free
Link
Excerpt:
From my browsing (on the currently free Internet)
I have discovered that the 'demise' of the free Internet
is slated for 2010 in Canada, and two years later
around the world. Canada is seen a good choice to
implement such shameful and sinister changes,
since Canadians are viewed as being laissez fair, politically
uninformed and an easy target. The corporate
marauders will iron out the wrinkles in Canada and then
spring the new, castrated version of the Internet
on the rest of the world, probably with little fanfare,
except for some dire warnings about the 'evil'
of the Internet (free) and the CEO's spouting about
'safety and security'. These buzzwords usually
work pretty well.
What will the Internet look like in Canada in
2010? I suspect that the ISP's will provide a "package"
program as companies like Cogeco currently do.
Customers will pay for a series of websites as they
do now for their television stations. Television
stations will be available on-line as part of these packages,
which will make the networks happy since they
have lost much of the younger market which are surfing
and chatting on their computers in the evening.
However, as is the case with cable television now, if you
choose something that is not part of the package,
you know what happens. You pay extra.

Where is
your gas money going?
What's wrong
with Alaska?
Scandal is everywhere with Alaska's GOP
Link
Excerpt:
The political anomalies of the far Northwest
are on view right now in a scandal that looks likely
to bring down much of the state's Republican
establishment, threatening the careers of oil executives,
lobbyists and all three of Alaska's representatives
in Washington. The alleged improprieties are as crass
as they get -- lobbyists handing out bribes on
the floor of the state Legislature, federal money directed
by Alaska's U.S. senators to those companies,
and lobbyists who granted politicians personal favors.
The taint has spread so far that it has become
a crisis not just for those politicians who have been
directly implicated, and not just for the Republican
Party, but for the state itself.
That Ted Stevens prick needs to do some hard time,
where "a series of tubes" has a very different meaning.

Tasered
to death by Cops
Link
Excerpt:
A police officer shocked a handcuffed Baron "Scooter"
Pikes nine times with a Taser after arresting
him on a cocaine charge. Baron Pikes, 21, was
Tasered nine times by a police officer in Winnfield, Louisiana.
He stopped twitching after seven, according to
a coroner's report. Soon afterward, Pikes was dead.
Now the officer, since fired, could end up facing
criminal charges in Pikes' January death after
medical examiners ruled it a homicide.
The coroner told CNN the 21-year-old man was jolted
so many times by the Taser that he might have
been dead before the last two shocks were delivered.
Don't the cops have anything better to do than
to taser a corpse?

"You want to be taken seriously, don't you?"

it wants to improve ties with the United States and
North Korea's immediate neighbors and end its

Subject: What are Bushit's plans
for next February?
Hey Bart, still love your dot com.
Why have none of the big new organizations asked
Bushit or Chicken
what they plan to do when they leave office next
January 20th?
Is it because the real bigshots already KNOW
that they aren't leaving office?
By the by, what do you think the Chinese are going
to do with all those US bonds they hold?
If they dumped them on the market and the dollar
fell would that qualify as a National Emergency?
I still think they are going to kill their way
into continued power.
McCain, or Obama, is dead meat. Maybe both.
Obama got a new plane.
I hope he has someone watching it better than
McCain's wife's corporate jet.
Plane accidents are SO easily staged.
Much easier than finding a lone gunman stooge.
Keep it up guy.

GOP, Blue
About their Prospects
Link
Excerpt:
David All glanced around Top of the Hill bar
and saw the future of the Republican Party. It looked dim.
A who's who of young conservatives had gathered,
but they were few, and they were frustrated.
Here were the executive director of the Young
Republicans, and the 20-something who helped steer
Fred Thompson's Internet operation, and the young
woman who put Mitt Romney's Web site on the map,
and the 24-year-old staffer for Newt Gingrich's
American Solutions for Winning the Future, who had
brought them all together to cry in their free
Blue Moon beer. The crowd was mostly white and mostly
male, dressed in slacks and starched shirts.
For most of them, Ronald Reagan and the good times he
personified for conservatives were not even vague
memories.

Fans Unite
Link
Excerpt:
The Arizona Cardinals are trying to "protect
the nest." This means they'd like their
stadium to continue to sell out, and to do so
with as few opposing fans as possible.
In the past two seasons, there was little concern
about this since the team sold out every home game.
But with ticket sales a bit slower as the third
season approaches, the Cardinals are requiring fans who
want to buy tickets to the Dallas game on Oct.
12 to also buy tickets for the Aug. 7 exhibition opener
vs. New Orleans. Cardinals fans have "created
a decisive home-field advantage" the past two years,
and the team wants to keep it that way by discouraging
single-game ticket sales to Cowboys fans.

"Never mind that there's no evidence 'speculators'
are doing anything to increase
the price of oil. They aren't hoarding it.
No one's cornering the market. The speculators don't

as they guessed correctly. And that may be the most
infuriating part of all this. The speculators
don't want high oil prices, but Washington does."

The other
PSTD we don't talk about
We have what - 110,000 soldiers in Iraq?
A percentage of those soldiers have come to a place in their mind where
"war is normal."
A percentage of those soldiers, if told to go home, would choose to
stay and fight.
They have war in their blood and the lack of war will feel strange
to some of them.
I guess a few of them could go to work for Blackwater and fight until
they die,
but what about the other - I guess thousands of men - who are conditioned
to fight on?
Army psychiatrists - if we still have them - probably have waits of
a year or more.
Most men from war can't afford some fancy $500 an hour Madison Avenue
shrink,
so what do these thousands of men do when they get back to their hometowns?

The World
Series of Poker 2008
Link
It slipped right by me this year.
Last year, I thought about trying to go to (not
play in) the World Series
just so I could see some famous players maybe
buy one of them a drink.
Maybe next year will work better...
But - they did the World Series "funny" this year.
They got down to the final table, the final nine,
...and went on break.
They dwindled down to the final nine last week,
and the went on break until they
sit down to play the last table live on ESPN
on November 9th, right after the election.
Dennis Phillips - 26,295,000 in chips
Ivan Demidov - 24,400,000
SMontgomery - 19,690,000
Peter Eastgate - 18,375,000
Ylon Schwartz - 12,525,000
Darus Suharto - 12,520,000
'Chino' Rheem - 10,230,000
Craig Marquis - 10,210,000
Kelly Kim
- 2,620,000
One of these nobody's is going to win.
The last six years, the title's
been taken by a nobody.
Why can't poker's best players make it to the
final table anymore?

Subject: Obama vs Hillary
The difference that I notice, is that when Clinton
was in the game, no matter what she did,
no matter what the polls said, no matter what
anyone said - you stuck by her. I recall someone
challenged you, "Hey Bart, she is taking lots
of money from Big Pharma - LOTS of money,"
and your sensible response was - well, they have
a lot of money to give. We want her elected.
Elections cost money. Duh.
She voted to give that piece of shit authority
to invade, people criticize her, you point out that was
a different time for everyone and she did what
anyone would have done given the tenor of the time.
You were a zealous and articulate advocate for
a candidate you believed in, and you PROMISED
that if she did not get the nomination, you would
turn that same fighting spirit over to Obama. At least
that was how I read it. Maybe I misunderstood.
I appreciate your right to criticize and analyze
his choices and movements, but you seem incapable
of giving Him the same pass you gave Her - in
other words, you won't spin for him, and you don't
have to, but it kind of sucks because I wanted
to see your clever rhetoric being used the same way
for Him you did for Her, and as always against
Them.
Ciaj7
Do you want me to fake it?
Do you want me to write what people want to read?
Do you want me to be FOX News?
If you go back to 2000 and 2004, you'll find I spent a lot of time
telling the idiot Democrat to pull his head out of his ass and fight
back.
I was never a blind cheerleader who could see no wrong with Democrats.
If Hillary had voted to dismantle the 4th Amendment, I would've screamed.
I'm doing all I can to get Obama elected but I can't fake it like some
people can.
If Obama could work in a leftward lurch among his many lurches to the
right
that would help.
