Kos bloggers didn't shove Bristol Palin into the spotlight - Mom did that.
Mom could've said, "Thanks, but no thanks," but she got greedy.

She saw a chance to be rich and famous and get her name in the history books
and if her family had to suffer, well, Mom wants what she wants.

When you invite nationwide scrutiny and you have dirty laundry, who's responsible?
 

Just to make a point, what if Palin's husband did time for raping their babysitter?
Would it be OK for bloggers to mention the fact that Sarah married a rapist?

or someone had taken over your site.  How disappointed I am in you.

I was going to make another donation but now I am sorry to say that I cannot do so.

How is the hatred that you feel towards rethugs and what they've done

Because some rethugs said awful things about Chelsea then it's ok  for Dems to destroy 
the psyche of a 17 yr. old pregnant teen? If it was wrong then, what the fuck makes it ok now?

Perhaps I've attacked Bristol Palin and I'm not aware of it.
Had you cited some examples, I may have been forced to apologize.

Over the weekend, Kos and many other blogs went hog wild with the "baby story"
that turned out not to be true - did you think I was a part of that?

And what justifies the innuendo that Palin 'worked" her way through college or that she's trailer trash? 
Is that ok because the Rethugs made up some shit about Michelle Obama?

I'm so old, I remember when I could mock the GOP and get away with it.

Perhaps I should spend more time thinking about the personal feelings of Republicans
while they nominate unqualified, religiously-insane lightweights to run or ruin the free world?

This whole year I've had to be careful about every word I write

I see you have a cartoon about her hiking in her 6th month with Hmmm following her quote.
Do you know that kos and his ilk are accusing her of causing her son's disability because 
she was so active up to the day he was born?

Is that ok with you?

First, I don't read Kos - I don't even have enough time to properly edit this page.

Second, if Kos publishes a pack of lies, you should write to him.

Third, I assumed (perhaps another Bartcop error) that the quote in the toon was real.
If the quote was fabricated, then I agree, the joke's in bad taste and it's not funny. 

Fourth, I'm not a doctor, but if the quote was real, if Palin really went hard hill jogging while
6 months pregnant and enjoyed "the thrashing of her guts and thighs," then maybe she 
should be charged with a crime such as reckless endangerment.  I don't know what causes
Down's syndrome, but "thrashing" a fetus surely can't be good for its health.

Either way, how is this coming down on me?
When I receive a cartoon, do you think I should investigate it?

I'm still confused.    I'm always angry with the Dems for not fighting back, and if I read your 
Nader comment correctly, you're saying the Dems are fighting back too hard, too viciously?

I fail to see why I don't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

A reader of the page has the luxury of time - they can sit there and stare at a toon
and analyze it and look at all the different ways the toon can be taken and how it 
might affect different groups and what a toon might suggest, rather than say, etc.

Swear to Koresh, this page gets put together at 90 MPH and I liked the Juno movie and I 
thought the Juneau gag was kinda clever and I knew there was a stink about Palin being
pregnant and I admit I failed to take a lot of time to dive deep into the toon and look at how 
it might hit someone the wrong way - which I still don't understand.

We're in a war for the future of our country and the planet and I'd ordinarily expect
to get mail saying, "You're on fire, Bart!   Go get those murdering sons of bitches!"

Instead, I'm getting mails saying *I* am being unfair to the Fascist bastards. 

The fact that I'm getting lots of e-mails like yours means something, but how am I 
supposed to produce a political comedy page if my readers feel sorry for the bad guys?

Did I attack old-enough-for-sex Bristol the way Rush attacked 12 year old Chelsea?

Last thing - there were 71 items on yesterday's page one could get angry about.
I apologize up-front if all 71 items weren't home runs. 

Reminder: Stewart, Colbert, Leno and Letterman have 20 writers each.

I was really disappointed this year when the Desperate Housewives went off the air.
But now with John McCain's pick of Sarah Palin it's like the series is back.
Governor Sarah Palin's story has all the intrigue and anticipation of the TV series.
I just can't wait to find out!

Did Sarah's daughter really have the baby she calls her 5th child or is the child really Bristol's baby?
Why didn't her staff know she was pregnant? Did Sarah use her position as governor to try to get
her brother-in-law fired who is involved in a child custody battle with her sister? If not, why is she
now hiring a lawyer? Was Sarah for the "Bridge to Nowhere" before she was against it?

Was Sarah really a member of the Alaskan Independence Party that wants Alaska to secede?
What is Sarah's relationship to Ted Stevens? Was her husband Todd arrested for drunk driving?
Will McCain force Chris to marry Bristol and will Dick Cheney be the one holding the shot gun at the wedding?

The Sarah Palin sequel to Desperate Housewives might be better than the original.
