You are so right on this.

I used to love the comments made by Olbermann, but the truth is,
they are just like the Fox network, they are just on a different side.
Do we really want that kind of non-objective news?

Some think we need it to balance out the right-wing rhetoric we hear constantly, but they are
just going too far.  I was made aware of how much I hate this kind of talk during the democratic
primaries, when all things Obama were great, and all things Clinton were EVIL!!!

No objectivity at all.

Subject: If Palin can't take the heat...

I'm getting tired of the unknown Alaska governor whining about the news media.
We don't know who she is and she's running for the nation's second highest office.
And since she is running on family related issues, asking family related questions are fair game.

For example, if Obama had 5 kids including a special needs newborn and a pregnant teen
daughter that would be an issue for him too. Palin also opposes contraception, opposes
abortion without exception for rape or incest, and advocate abstinence only sex education,
so it's fair to see how those positions are playing out in her life. And why is she running
for VP when her children need her now?

Palin also claims she sold the state jet on eBay at a profit when in fact she sold the state jet
to a contributor at a loss. She claims she saved the US taxpayers money by opposing the
"Bridge to Nowhere" but the reality is that she took the money and didn't build the bridge.
So the taxpayers paid for the bridge to nowhere, but didn't even get that.

The voters have a right to know who she is and the media has the right to ask that hard questions.
If she really is a pit bull then why is she hiding behind John McCain's skirt?

I don't care if she can kill a moose.
What I care about is if she tough enough to handle a press conference.
If she is so tough then why is she afraid to come out into the light of day and take
the tough questions that every candidate has to answer?

I hate to say it, but with their current slight lead, and another Bin Laden video near the election 
(you know it's coming),  for the third time in a row, the Republicans will take the gold.  It is time 
for us all to admit that we live in a nation of complete idiots.  We will never evolve as a nation. 
Our general prosperity will never translate into the creation of a better society.  We will continue 
to be outpaced by much of the western world in terms of crime, health care, education, and inclusion. 

It's too bad, Every four years I allow myself to hope that we're better than that, that we're not ruled 
by fear and ancient myths.  We come close.  I thought this was the year.  I really did.  We have a 
brilliant dynamo in front for the first time, and their guy's a complete dud.  So, all they have to do is 
trot out ma kettle with her homespun gun-totin, jesusey bullshit, and it's game over.  If that's all it 
takes to win votes, then we should just stop trying.

SO what's left?  We should focus on making democrats a true opposition party, that shouts and 
gets pissed and proposes crazy shit like a solar panels the size of 400 football fields, and free college, 
health care for all, and legal pot by the pound.  really shake things up, while gramps and vice-president 
trannie poke around the whitehouse, doing basically nothing.

We're even ...or even behind - now what?

It looks like we're going to need some luck to win this election.
McCain is winning what's left of the undecided vote.

One thing Obama could do is debate John McCain like a man.
If Obama agrees to those debate rules that prevent the candidates from asking
direct questions, then he will lose the debates and he'll lose in November and
we'll have no choice but to start building for 2012.

McCain could ask questions like: "John, why do you keep lying about my tax plan?
You tell people I'm raising taxes on the middle class and you know that's not true."

Will Obama agree to be handcuffed and gagged for the debate?
Or will he insist that they debate like men instead of mice?

Random thought...

Sarah Palin was governor of Alaska from January 07 to the present.

Alaska is an oil exporting state, and under Bush, oil prices went to record highs.
So she governed Alaska for 17 months - with a surplus of good times.

I wanted to donate for a long time, and I wanted to wait until I had a spare $100 since I didn't think
a small $5 donation would be of any help to you.  So time went by, and I never had a spare $100,
so I didn't donate.

But you started running the new donation requests with the statement that even $5 or $10 or $25 would help,
and I realized that I could send the odd $5 now and then.  See, you let me know that even $5 is a help, so I
knew then that I could do something useful.  I bet there are others in my position who are waiting until they
have a big amount to donate (and donating nothing in the meantime) who will donate a small amount
because you let us know that would help.  I think that was a very good message to get out to people.
