McCain Stonewalls Troopergate
They need to hide her crimes until after the election

 Link

 Excerpt:
A former top Justice Department prosecutor now working for McCain has been helping to direct
an aggressive legal strategy aimed at shutting down a pre-election ethics investigation into Sarah Palin.

Five Republican state lawmakers filed suit Tuesday to end the bipartisan investigation into Palin's firing
of the public safety commissioner, even though the Republican vice-presidential nominee once said she
welcomed the probe into allegations of abuse of power.

The lawsuit called the investigation "unlawful, biased, partial and partisan." None of the lawmakers
who filed the suit in state Superior Court in Anchorage serves on the bipartisan Legislative Council
that unanimously approved the investigation in July.

She wasn't vetted before McCain announced her.
Who knows - she could be Al Capone with a vagina.

 Subject: Who gets the bailout

Bart,

I was trying to determine which companies will get bailed out and  which won't.

So far there have been three spectacular failures in the  financial arena:
Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers, and AIG.

AIG was bailed out; over the past 20 years, about 2/3 of their  political donations were to
Republicans.   Lehman Brothers did not;  over the past 20 years, over 3/4 of their political
donations were to Democrats (including over half of their PAC donations).

Fannie Mae/ Freddie Mac got bailed out, and slightly over half their political donations were
to Democrats (but their PAC leans Republicon).  Over  the years, their employees tended to
donate more to whichever party was controlling Congress -- simply because they donated to
their local representatives.  The PAC donated a bit more on the Republican side.

Interestingly, they strongly supported Bush for president;
in 2004 they gave nearly 70% of their presidential campaign cash to Bush.

Maybe that's the final answer.

Obama should be sweating
 by Greg Palast

 Link

 Excerpt:
In swing-state Colorado, the Republican Secretary of State conducted the biggest purge of voters
in history, dumping a fifth of all registrations. Guess their color.

In swing-state Florida, the state is refusing to accept about 85,000 new registrations from voter drives
- overwhelming Black voters.

In swing state New Mexico, HALF of the Democrats of Mora, a dirt poor and overwhelmingly
Hispanic county, found their registrations disappeared this year, courtesy of a Republican voting contractor.

In swing states Ohio and Nevada, new federal law is knocking out tens of thousands of voters who
lost their homes to foreclosure.

My investigations partner spoke directly to Barack Obama about it. (When your partner is Robert F.
Kennedy Jr., candidates take your phone call.) The cool, cool Senator Obama told Kennedy he was
"concerned" about the integrity of the vote in the Southwest in particular.

He's concerned. I'm sweating.

I'm sweating too, but for slightly different reasons.
My wild guess is 6% of people are lying to pollsters, so if they have it Obama by three,
he's probably down by three and that's a problem in a super-close election.

By the way, WHY did they discontinue exit polling?
Is it because the exit poll numbers didn't match the Diebold numbers?

 Subject: Obama and 527's

Hey Bart,  I don't think you're necessarily reading this wrong, it's just that Obama had requested
that there be no 527's in his name several months ago so that he could control the message.

And how did that work out?

He soon found out (and why the hell didn't he already know) that the Rethugs play dirty.
Their 527's are masters of dirty politics and he realized that he needs 527's on his side
for quicker responses (plus he can distance himself from them if need be).

I could've told him that months ago. If Obama had read  bartcop.com
he would've known that way back when he was in the Illinois senate.

I slapped my forehead when he made the original announcement several months ago
and had visions of Kerry in '04 not responding fast enough (or at all).  I didn't understand
why Obama would put himself at any type of disadvantage.  I think he's finally seen the light.

Better late than never I guess, but still........why doesn't our party realize who they're fighting?
The other side will never change.
 Greg in Vacaville, CA

I'm concerned that I might be better at politics than some members of Obama's staff.
I offered my help several times, but you know Democrats.

They don't ewant help - they always think they've got things covered until they cound the votes.

I need a drink...

"I do not expect the white media to create positive black male images."
      -- Huey Newton,     Link

If Huey were alive today, he might amend that quote to:

"I do not expect the white media to create positive black male images in the general election,"

because the white (whore) media fanned the flames of Obama's campaign juuuuuuuust long enough to get
the Clintons out of this race so they could turn on him and help McCain run against a black man with a funny name
while calling him "the biggest liberal in the senate" while asking "Does he really love his country?"

In case you haven't heard - you can't trust America's whore media.

No Confidence in Bush or his Trickle Down Policies
Bailout Fails to Stem Global Slump, Markets Keep Crashing

 Link

 Excerpt:
The Dow Jones industrial average fell almost 450 points on Wednesday as one of the most
stunning government bailouts in American history failed to stem the runaway fears engulfing
the global financial system.

Investors embarked on a frenzied flight to safety, just hours after the Federal Reserve and the
Treasury Department propped up American International Group, the ailing insurance giant,
with an $85 billion loan. Many wondered which once-proud institution would be the next to fail.

"There's a growing sense that there's no end to this in sight," Edward Yardeni, the investment
strategist, said.   Stocks around the world plummeted.

Clinton tripled the stock market because he let the middle class thrive.  Bush is all about stealing
hundreds of billions of dollars from every department because he knows the American whore media
will say "mistakes were made" and then blame Clinton and the Democratic congress.

Even that super douche Robert Reich (D-Traitor) agreed on CNN that this was Clinton's fault.
Clinton gets the blame (as always) and the crooked republicans get away with all the money.
Meanwhile, the Democrats are wetting themselves with fear - as always.

I wish this f-ing merry-go-round would stop so I could get off.

 Charts from HERE

If the Democrats would show these (or clearer) graphs,
why would anyone vote for more of the same?

Double the debt, from a BIG surplus to a BIGGER deficit,
millions of lost jobs and 5,000,000 more people in poverty.

If the Democrats would list the facts,
why would anyone vote for more of the same?

All the fancy talk in the world, all the $50 words you can use
won't provide as much good information as one graph.

It's so f-ing EASY but they won't listen to me.

Subject: Another Day, Another Bailout

Another day, another corporate bailout.
Today it's AIG getting $85 billion of the people's hard earned tax dollars.

$85 billion is a lot of money.
For that much money we could buy 340 bridges to nowhere.

This is what happens when you get rid of regulation.
The thieves (Bush bastards) move in and steal all the money.

America is now $10,000,000,000,000 (ten trillion dollars) in debt.
Who is going to bail the taxparers out when America goes bankrupt?

Quotes

"Why on earth doesn't Obama run ads with McCain admitting he knows nothing
about the economy over and over and over and over and over again? Obama is so
bloody polite, like Kerry or Gore was, it kills me. Politeness never won any election."
-- Mystic at The Nation,    Link

The Democrats always put "politeness" first.
They'd rather lose if they can't win politely.

That's why they say the Clintons run "slimeball campaigns,"
because the Clintons are about winning, not being polite.

Subject: Re: Why do people vote Republican?

I can understand (though not agree with) someone voting for Dubya & Republican'ts the first time
because they thought he "...shares my values..." or "...was a regular guy I could have a beer with...."

I can understand that (though not agree with) someone voting for Dubya & the Republican'ts the second time
because they were stupid and got duped by the "Swift Boat", "liberal" "elitist" "tax-and-spend" "9-11"
"support the troops" propaganda of Rove et al.

But if someone votes for McCain & the Republican'ts THIS time, I can only come up with one explanation....

Their vote is a conscious effort to destroy this country, to destroy this world, and incite
a global apocalypse that will culminate in Jesus' return to Earth and the Final Judgement.

I am saddened by their ignorance.

The Two Faces of John McCain
 by Joe Conason

 Link

 Excerpt:
On the anniversary of 9/11, the virtuous John McCain showed up for a single day, as if the solemnity
and sorrow of the occasion had penetrated his hard campaign carapace. From his joint appearance with
Obama at ground zero in the morning through their consecutive interviews that evening, McCain reminded
America that we have known a politician by that name who cared about honor, independence and decency.

Meanwhile, his newer doppelg"nger appeared on television in horrifically dishonest and inflammatory
commercials savaging Obama over sex education, assuring us smugly that "I'm John McCain and I approved
this message." The vicious John McCain never went away, even for those few hours.

And that is the contradiction now confronted by the national press corps, whose members desperately
wish to believe in the old McCain they adored rather than the new McCain who nauseates them.

Obama needs to invoke Clintonomics, but he can't
How can he say things were great under his foe's regime?

 Link

 Excerpt:
That last point should be a central one, and yet the Obama campaign can't quite seem to frame
the case properly against the spendaholic big government conservatism of the Republicans.
The Democrats have a good claim to being the true fiscal conservatives in recent US history,
arguing for balanced budgets and stability. But to illustrate that argument the Obama campaign
would need to point to the record of a previous administration which governed, for the large part,
in such a fashion. And the problem is that at its head was Bill Clinton.

Thus the split in the Democrat family has profound consequences for the Obama campaign
which go far beyond the awkwardness of personal relations with the Clintons.

How did he not see this coming?

He said the old ways didn't work, that we had to have radical change,
but praising the Clintons would remind people how good we once had it.

McCain Advisor Helped cause Crash
Gramm de-regulated what they now say needs regulating

 Link

 Excerpt:
As the news broke of the Lehman Brothers meltdown and the rest of the latest financial crisis,
John McCain, speaking at a campaign rally in Florida on Monday, angrily declared, "We will never
put America in this position again. We will clean up Wall Street. This is a failure."
And in a statement, McCain called for greater "transparency and accountability" on Wall Street.

If McCain wants to hold someone accountable for the failure in transparency and accountability
that led to the current calamity, he should turn to his good friend and adviser, Phil Gramm.

As Mother Jones reported in June, eight years ago, Gramm, then a Republican senator chairing
the Senate banking committee, slipped a 262-page bill into a gargantuan, must-pass spending measure.
Gramm's legislation, written with the help of financial industry lobbyists, essentially removed
newfangled financial products called swaps from any regulation.

If we could just get our side to mention the facts.

Subject: McCain/Palin 08 Disaster

My fear is that if McCain is elected, he walks away after about 2-1/2 years,
Palin is elevated to President, she appoints Jeb Bush as her VP,
and they grease the election rails until 2024.

AND, the Democrats didn't impeach W.Bush because they
didn't want to screw up the election in 2008.

How's that working out?

There was a time when our two biggest problems were Clinton
trying to get Monica a job (Horrors!) and how to spend the surplus.

But the Bush bastards can't steal hundreds of billions of dollars if we're at peace
so they stole the White House, fabricated a war and emptied the Treasury

Iraq pumped 3.5M  barrels daily before Bush invaded
and then they got their big Halliburton upgrades

Bush is stealing up to 6 million barrels of oil per day.
Since oil sells for $125 or more per barrel,
Bush is stealing $750,000,000 every day.

No wonder they were so eager to start a war,
It's the biggest theft in Earth's history but
our whore media is too busy to investigate.

4,157 brave men and women
have been sacrificed on the Altar of Oil.

All because of Bush's oil greed

Why are we there?
Because Iraq's oil wells have NO METERS!

Where's all that oil money going?
