"The government is spending $40 billion to
bail out Citigroup. Honestly, when you think about it,
who doesn't really feel sorry for credit card companies?"
-- Letterman
Excerpt: Finally, we have unity between conservatives
and progressives.
Unfortunately it is a unity based either in stupidity
or deceitfulness.
Both sides are tripping all over themselves to
criticize Obama's picks for his cabinet and advisers.
Progressives in particular seem to be livid that
moderates figure so prominently and conservatives,
who want change less than they want a salt filled
straw in the eye, are falling all over themselves
pointing out that Obama's picks seem to be at
odds with his campaign mantra of "change".
One side is being incredibly shortsighted and
the other is being blatantly disingenuous.
Both are being patently ridiculous.
Excerpt: With its decision last week to pump an additional
$1 trillion into the financial crisis, the Bush bastards
eliminated any doubt that they have screwed this
country far worse than anybody imagined. The latest
strategy is essentially the win-at-any-cost approach
previously adopted only to wage a major war.
Just last week, greedy Republican sons of
bitches added $600 billion to lower mortgage rates,
$200 billion to stimulate consumer loans and
nearly $300 billion to steady Citigroup, the Bank of Saud.
That pushed the cost of Bush's tax cuts to $8.5
trillion - half of the entire economic output of the U.S. this year.
Still, nobody talks about this as a THEFT.
Take A.I.G., the biggest insurance company in
the world.
They bragged about having $700 billion in
assets - where'd that money go?
Did some unknown, invisible disaster wipe out
New York and California?
Did AIG lose that $700 billion paying claims
to bailout hard hit customers?
Of course not - somebody just stole
that money, but the sissy Democrats won't
mention that and, of course, the whore media
refuses to do its job like always.
And have you heard a single Democrat say, "This
is what happens when you ignore the middle class and coddle billionaires
with tax cuts they don't need?" Of course you haven't.
When we lost those soldiers in Somalia in 1993, Bob Dornan said,
"This is what happens when you put
a draft-dodger in the White House."
When GOP policies and theft bankrupt America, what do Democrats say?
"We need to work with the Republicans and
rebuild our nation," which is true but
why don't the Dems list the damn facts - that tax
cuts and greed caused this mess?
"I have yet to see a true "progressive" be
blah blah blah"
Someone needs to remind these "progressives" that
they used to be Liberals.
They just became afraid to call themselves that
after the thugs demonized the term.
Yeah... that's who I want advice from.

"Bush is bailing out CitiGroup, but not the
auto companies. That's not fair. Our blue collar guys don't get the bailout. But the white
collar guys on Wall Street get the bailout. I think they should work together. I think the guys in Detroit
should keep making the cars, and the guys on Wall Street should be making the license plates.
See what I'm saying?"

Last issue, Jonny asked,"So we scratched his back
& got him elected, but is he scratching ours?"
Well, excuse me, but plenty of Clinton people
- starting with Hillary - helped get him elected.
If helping Obama get elected is the criteria
for getting appointed, then I guess Hillary's concession
speech, her joint appearances including in Unity
NH, her convention speech, the millions of dollars
she raised for Obama, and the campaigning for
him around the country may have earned her the
Secretary of State position.
I'm not happy with Gates or Obama's willingness
to forgive Kissyface,
but it amazes me the people who think the election
ended with the primary.

Excerpt: Bernie Kerik was going to be head of Homeland
Security before he was indicted.
Scooter Libby, the vice presidents chief of staff,
was convicted on four felony counts of lying
in the CIA leak case. And finally, Alberto Gonzales,
who resigned from his position as Attorney
General after being accused of lying to Congress
about the firing of nine U.S. Attorneys.
I'm not going to forget that the Bush bastards were an eight-year crime
spree.
I also won't forget that Nancy Pelosi gave them permission
to commit crimes.

Excerpt: In Michael Wolff’s forthcoming biography of Rupert
Murdoch, the author writes that he
has seemed to turn away lately from his cable
news network, and isn’t fond of Bill O’Reilly.
“It is not just Murdoch (and everybody else at
News Corp.’s highest levels) who absolutely despises
Bill O’Reilly, the bullying, mean-spirited, and
hugely successful evening commentator,” Wolff wrote, “
but Roger Ailes himself who loathes him. Success,
however, has cemented everyone to each other.
He barely pretends to hide the way he feels about
O’Reilly but the money is the money; success trumps all.
"In Obama's defense, he didn't run on "I'll
make those bastards pay." But he asked for our votes despite not
being able to voice that. On the idea that he might actually want some justice
and the potential to prevent this behavior in four years. Many of us voted
for a change." -- Chu
I think we should be angry with Pelosi and
Reid.
They rubber-stamped every crime those Bush
bastards committed.
I think Obama should have the option to
start fresh.
"Obama says his economic team is working closely
with Bush. Obama said his team has many obstacles to overcome, the biggest
one is that Bush is working closely with them." --

We´re being "Chicken Littled" again!
Remember when the Bush Administration warned that we
couldn´t wait to invade Iraq, until the
evidence of WMD´s and bio-weapons came in the form of
a mushroom-cloud? We had to do it NOW,
or the consequences of waiting would be catastrophic
and if they(?) weren´t stopped over there,
we´d have to stop them over here. With the fear of these
terrible consequences and the impending guilt
of not having acted when told, congress allowed
themselves to be "steam-pressure-rolled" to acquiece
and they rolled over and played dumb
...which they were.
Now, again, "THE SKY IS FALLING" or the
bottom has dropped out (which ever) the same
administrarion is warning of an impending
danger, as a result of something not yet understood.
"BAILOUT" is needed NOW! The consequences
of the finanical meld-down can´t be risked and
allowed to be evidenced by the rising unemployment
cloud, that will choke us all, as a result of the
freemarket-deregulation scam disintegrates, into
a non-inhalable smoke of burning phony papermoney.
Congress has been steam-rolled again, by the same
administration that gave them Iraq, Guan-Gitmo,
HeckofajobBrownie, and-on-and-on- and
. . . . . . . . YES, I THINK THE SKY IS FALLING!!

Several years ago, a passenger jet had a malfunction
-- problems with the hydraulics, I think.
Loss of a good bit of control, anyway.
They already knew they were coming down in a bad crosswind.
The pilot instructed everyone to brace themselves,
because it was going to be a rough landing.
Now, pilots don't sound tense very often, but
there must have been something in his voice that alerted
a passenger -- a retired pilot -- who promptly
headed forward. The retired pilot gave them tips on
making small adjustments in the engine power,
something not common in jets any more, to make up for
the loss of control, and the only reason the
plane slid slightly off the runway at the end was that the
control tower gave them the wrong information
on the wind direction.
Did the pilots ask which airline the older guy
had flown for?
Did they ask him about his political party?
NO, of course not.
They added his voice of experience to their own
training in the face of disaster.
President Obama needs all the advisors and experienced
hands he can get.
But by electing him, we showed that we trust
him to make the final decisions.

Dear Bart:
If you were familiar with Gates’ record, as documented
by Robert Perry,
you would be as appalled as Perry and I are at
his appointment by Obama.
Would you withhold judgment if Obama appointed
George W., of those responsible for 9-11?
Warm regards,
Jim W
If Obama appointed Bush to anything I'd come down on him
with several megatons of righteous anger and fury.
But he's way too smart for that.
I think I heard Obama say Gates would only stay for a year or so.
Maybe it's smart to have Gates run the withdrawal because.
if things go bad, Obama can say, "That's Bush's
man running the pullout."
We've won four of the last five popular votes. Kerry the Quitter was our only loss.
Subject: the wealthy and
their taxes
I think it would be good to have the top tier
pay more in taxes and I have no problem with
Obama hiking their tax rates, but it might be
a better idea to close off all those loopholes instead.
That takes away the right wing talking point about
"democrats always raise our taxes" but at
the same time by closing the loopholes (e.g.
offshore accounts in the caymans etc.) it gives the
government more revenue. He could also
impose tax penalty's against company's who outsource,
take away their ridiculous subsidies... I bet
there are a bunch of loopholes that could be closed off
and how would they spin those in the media?
He could squeeze the money out of them and all
without acutally raising the tax rate.
Aileen
I'vbe heard that idiot Bush say, "The super-rich
don't pay much in taxes because they can afford the best accountants
to look for loopholes."
So why did he spend the last 8 years cutting their taxes?

9/29 Hindu supremacist terror network had ties to military
Hey, BC,
I recommend Googling "Hemant Karkare", a real
hero who was gunned downed on the first day
of the recenct Mumbai terrorism. He was
famous for investigating the 9/29 Malegaon bombings
discussed in the link I sent you. He exposed
that Hindu terrorists were faking Islamic terrorism
-- already 10 people had been arrested as part
of his investigation, and he wasn't done yet.
