Wall Street, pay-day lenders and credit card

No, really.
In late 2006, the South Dakotan spoke out against
an effort by his fellow Democrats to cap the interest rates that members
of the military pay for short-term loans. "This
time it's military. Who's to say it isn't going to be widows and orphans

in line to lead
the Banking Committee if Chris Dodd vacates
the position to take the H.E.L.P. chair left empty by the death of Ted
Kennedy...
Dodd has yet to make his decision public, but
assuming he takes the health post, it will be up to Harry Reid (D-Wimp)
whether to
elevate Johnson. Although Johnson would be entitled
to the post due to his seniority, Reid could still choose to route around
him.
"The big question for Senator Reid is, does he
want somebody chairing this committee who is hostile to the senate majority's
consumer protection reform agenda?" said one
consumer advocate.
If it's up to Spineless Harry, the banks will get everything they want

Excerpt: I don't write about torture as much as I used

the obligations
of Eric Holder and Barack Obama under the Convention
Against Torture are, is in order. Further, if Mr. Holder, as expressed,
wants to prosecute those who went beyond the
good faith interpretation of the Department of Justice memos, then with
all due respect,
Mr. Attorney General, Richard B. Cheney should
be a target of those investigations.
From the interview with Chris Wallace:
Chris Wallace:
Let me ask you, you say you’re proud of what we did. The Inspector General’s
report, which was just released,
from 2004, details some specific interrogations:
Mock executions. Uh, one of the detainees threatened with a handgun and
with
an electric drill. Uh, waterboarding Khalid Shaykh
Mohammad 183 times. First of all, did you know that was going on?
Dick Cheney:
I knew about the waterboarding - not specifically in any one particular
case but as a general policy we had approved.
Bush's Justice Department reviewed all of those
allegations several years ago. They looked at whether or not somebody had
an electric
drillin an interrogation session. It was never
used on the individual, or they brought in a weapon, never used on the
individual.
The judgment was made then that there wasn’t
anything there that was improper, or illegal, with respect to the conduct..."
In other words it was impossible for a torture session to go
too far?
What about the 100-plus kidnap victims who didn't survive their torture?
Excerpt: They should convene a panel for the next Meet

merit to determine
position and employment. They can interview

Democrats don’t seem to understand the difference
between Politics and Policy.
On health care, it’s time for them to do some
Politics:
Step 1: Obama tells the Repugs to shove
it. “I held out my hand; You gave me the finger”.
I like that.
Step 2: Obama calls the most liberal 31
Senate Dems and tells them: “Replace Reid with Schumer tomorrow.”
I really like that.
Step 3: Schumer tell the Senate Finance
Committee, with its silly “bipartisan” gang of six, to take the rest of
the year off.
The Senate will produce one bill, from Dodd’s Health, Education and Labor
Committee.
I like that.
Step 4: Obama tells Senators Nelson, Lincoln,
Lieberman and whoever else, that they WILL vote for cloture, even if they
eventually vote against the bill itself, because if he has to use Reconciliation,
which he will, then he will campaign
for the REPUBLICAN in their re-election bid, seeing as they were no better
when he needed them.
I like that so muich I got wood.
Step 5: You have the 218 votes in the House
and the 60 votes in the Senate you need, so just PASS the damn bill.
Ignore the death panels and the Blue Dogs, stop trying to teach ignorant
people who aren’t listening anyhow
what the ‘public option’ is. Just pass it.
Step 6: Recognize that the Repugs cannot
stop the bill, that they are simply already campaigning for 2010,
and that your best campaign attack will be: They voted AGAINST health
care!
Maybe from this exercise they can learn how politics
actually works and build on it.
It all really starts with dumping Reid though.

Lets call evil evil and get to the business of
righting the wrongs for the future generations.
No one is above the law especially when it comes
to subversion of democracy, negligence, treason, murder and torture.
Let's stop acting like a bunch of babies. The
fact of the matter is Bush/Cheney stole the 2000 election with a corrupted
court decision, and let 911 happen on their watch
without a prompt and full investigation.
They did that because the Democrats allowed it.
Bush/Cheney stole the 2004 election in Ohio with
many of the involved precincts destroying election records
in violation of federal cour orders, and shady
GOP web servers (SMART-TECH) controlling Ohio's election returns.
We owe them nothing. They subverted our democracy.
Fact.
An important CIA covert front company specializing
in stopping nuclear proliferation in the Middle East was destroyed
by Cheney (Valerie Plame's Brewster-Jennings),
and an illegal war started on lies derived from torture, in order to steal
oil contracts.
The war crime of Iraq. Fact.
And Cheney wants us to believe he kept us safe
as his actions exploded terrorist recruitment worldwide?
Where's Bin Laden Mr. Torturer in Chief? Your
'highly effective' cruel punishments couldn't bring him to justice.
Mr. Cheney you are a phoney a liar and a failure.
Let's show the world what it means to have honor
and dignity and Cheney can forever shut-up (or we can).
Investigate Cheney and his accomplices fully,
prosecute if laws were broken or subverted, and punish accordingly.
Why? Because it's the right thing to do, and
international law and common decency demands it!
Have we not a shred of courage?
Best;
Crede
No, we don't.
To make things worse, Obama only wants to look forward.
The goal of the Democrats is to be nice and to be fair to the murderous
dogs.
Excerpt: Scott Rasmussen, whose poll measures likely voters
and is an especially good indicator of public attitudes,
now has Obama’s job approval dropping to 46%.
Zogby, the other good poll, has him at 45%. These surveys
suggest that healthcare reform and the continuing
bad economy are driving Obama down at a record clip.
On Election Day, 2008 - less than a year ago -
Obama got 52% of the vote. Now, he is six to seven points
below that level in his job approval — one Obama
voter in eight is now disillusioned and turning on him.
I was kidding when I asked if Obama was waiting for his approval to
drop to 40% before he got serious
about getting health care reform passed ...at least I thought I was
kidding.
Excerpt: Obama, faced with falling approval ratings and
increasingly impatient with Senate negotiations over health care,
is weighing a shift in strategy that would offer
more details of his goals for overhauling the nation's health care system.
The president is considering a speech in the next
week or so in which he would be "more prescriptive" about what
he feels Congress must include in a bill, top
adviser David Axelrod said Tuesday in an interview. The speech might
occur before the Sept. 15 deadline the White
House gave to Senate negotiators to seek a bipartisan bill, Axelrod said.
Some Obama allies, watching his approval ratings
tumble in polls along with support for a health care overhaul,
have urged the president to take a more hands-on
approach. They feel he gave too much leeway to Congress,
where one bill has passed three House committees,
another has passed a Senate committee and a third has been
bogged down in protracted negotiations in the
Senate Finance Committee.
Why so soon? What's the rush? His approval rating are still in the forties
- why not wait until they're in the thirties? Or twenties?
Imcompetence is the last thing I expected from Obama.
Isn't it amazing to you that the very same shit
that happened to Clinton's Administration is happening to Obama's?
One problem they have in common is the Dems refuse
to stand with their president.
Republicans stayed with their Monkey until the
end, but Obama is cut-off before he gets started.
.
The MSM distorts and lies continually about every
little and big thing, day after day after day.
The Republican "message" gets blared from every
nook and cranny, from the NYT to MSNBC to Fox to CBS
to every talk radio show, every Sunday morning
TV show -- mostly lies and distortions and outright evil propaganda
with literally no criticism, while the Democrats'
message is laughed at and belittled - ad nauseum.
And then there are all the bloggers like yourself,
who bemoan the "spineless" democrats.
But how are the democrats going to get the message
back or even out when the MSM
makes sure they never even get to the microphone?
Just wondering,
George P
When a Democrat gets on TV he says stupid shit like, "I
often disagreed with President Bush."
When a Rethug gets on TV he says, "Our Marxist
president wants to murder Sarah Palin's kids and his gay agenda will force men to blow
other men each day before they start work and he's not even an American so why shouldn't we riot
and take our country back?"
Which do you think is better for ratings?
I'm not saying the Democrats should turn neanderthal but they could
at
least list the damn facts about Bush's crimes, the torture, the illegal spying, him freezing
on 9-11, the housing crash etc.
The list is endless but you never hear of such talk on
TV unless it comes from Bill Maher or Jon Stewart.
The scared Democrats are too spineless to talk about the country they
live in.
Excerpt: Drunken brawls, prostitutes, hazing and humiliation,
taking vodka shots out of buttcracks-- no, the perpetrators of these
Animal House-like antics aren't some depraved
frat brothers. They are the private security contractors guarding Camp
Sullivan,
otherwise known as the US Embassy in Kabul.
These allegations, and many more, are contained
in a letter sent to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday by the
Project on Government Oversight, which has been
investigating the embassy security contract held by ArmorGroup
North America (a subsidiary of Wackenhut, which
is in turn owned by the security behemoth G4S).
The contractor was the subject of a congressional
probe earlier this summer that found serious lapses in the company's
handling of the embassy security contract, which
internal State Department documents said left the embassy compound
"in jeopardy." Nevertheless, the government opted
to extend the company's 5-year, $189 million contract for another year.
Obama seems to be stepping in a lot of Bush-Cheney footprints.
If he HAS to use Blackwater, why not start training a different company
to do their job?
At least that way, we can stop using Blackwater in 3-5 years.
On Bill Maher they talked about Blackwater bringing in child prostitutes,
boys and girls,
to service these animals who, apparently, got tired of anally raping
roofied female soldiers.

Excerpt: So this time, when it came to the "death panels,"
The Washington Post's whore Howard Kurtz, observed:
"For once, mainstream journalists did not retreat
to the studied neutrality of quoting dueling antagonists."
Reporters took the additional step of pointing
out, on their own authority, that the proposals don't contain
any such provision. To "he said, she said," was
added: "we say."
Trouble is, it hasn't really mattered.
Even though news organizations debunked the claim,
45 percent still believe the reforms
would allow the federal government to halt
treatment to the elderly -- a staggering
number.
Why? Maybe because, by Kurtz's count, Palin's
"death panels" were mentioned 18 times by his own paper,
16 times in The New York Times and at least 154
times on cable and network news.

Bart, someone needs to explain to Texans what
would happen if they tried to leave the union.
1. Troops from Fort Hood would be sent to secure
Austin.
2. The marines and navy units would secure the
ports with the coast guard watching the rest of the area
3. Every federal project in Texas would be farmed
out to other states.
(The Robert C Byrd Space Center
would look good in Beckley WV.)
4. As a lesson Texas would be broken up into
5 states as permitted by the legislation which brought it into the union.
5. Any one resisting would be charged with sedition

6. Ten or more army divisions would roll through

Oklahoma like?
