Vol
2398 - Blind rooster
Quote of
the Day
"Some Americans can't get over the fact that Obama is president. They go to
sleep wondering, 'How did this happen?' "
-- Charlie Rangel on the birther handjobs, Link
"Can this nation really have an African-American
president? Or will the fact that we have an African-American president so paralyze
politically correct people in the media that the natural scrutiny and process through which
all of our presidents are put through and vetted do not occur..." -- Rush the crazy Pigboy,
claiming he's not allowed to express opinions about Obama,
Excerpt: "There's something loose in the land," the Washington
Post's Colbert I. King opines, "an ugliness and hatred directed
toward Obama that takes the breath away. The
thread of resentment is woven through conservative commentary,
right-wing radio and cable TV shows, all the
way to Capitol Hill."
So where was King when Bill and Hillary Clinton
were accused of murder by Rush Limbaugh and in videotapes peddled
by the Rev. Jerry Falwell? The latter's sanctimonious
mug nevertheless continued to appear constantly on network TV
talk shows as an honored representative of America's
devout Christians.
How about when Al Gore was depicted as a fraud
and serial liar through the use of phony allegations ("invented the Internet")
and manufactured quotes on the front page of,
yes, the Washington Post? Where was King then?
The same is true of Maureen Dowd and Frank
Rich, who participated gleefully in sliming Gore and Kerry.
(Dowd and Rich invented the myth that Gore falsely
claimed to be the inspiration for "Love Story.")
So now they don the shining armor of multiculti
liberalism? Please.
Excerpt: You have to feel sorry for Joe Wilson, He is
old enough (62) to remember when the coloreds
knew their place, which was shuffling in the
street and being lynched.
He started school in an era when no little nigra
could have even dreamed of going to school with whites,
not in the state that started the Civil War.
But then, when he was 7, the Supreme Court desegregated the schools...
Sadly, Joe's career has been nondescript, remarkable
only in his slavish devotion to George W. Bush and his wars.
The world was becoming progressively uneasy for
Wilson too. Even back in Sea Horse Acres, they weren't quite as
in love with old Joe as they used to be. When
he was first elected, he got 84 percent of the vote.
However, those numbers have dropped to only 54
percent.
And on that same night, the unthinkable happened:
A black man was elected president. That's right, president
of the Yew-nited States of America. You can't
imagine how that might make a one-time Thurmond aide feel.
We don't know how Strom himself would have felt,
because the senile racist finally croaked six years ago,
leaving an illegitimate black daughter behind.
That had to have been hell on Joe.
Excerpt: It wasn't till last night, at the annual convention
of the AFL-CIO in downtown PittsburgH, PA, that a packed house
of rank-and-file union members -- plumbers and
nurses and steelworkers and 73 other trades -- watched the U.S. premiere
of our film and, I kid you not, the roof practically
came off the place as the credits rolled. I've never witnessed, in my 20
years
as a filmmaker, such a response to one of my
movies. The theater management must have thought a riot was going to break
out.
After years of having the crap kicked out of
working people of this country, the crowd in PittsburgH was ready to rumble
after
watching two hours of cinema that laid it all
out about how Corporate America has gotten away with murder. I was profoundly
moved by this overwhelming and enthusiastic response.
"Capitalism" will open in New York and L.A. next week and everywhere
else on October 2nd.
Will the poorer-than-middle-class GOP-voting idiots see themselves and
change their ways?
Hell no - they won't be happy until the Confederate flag flies over
the White House.
"Your bizarre and clownish antics of fake crying,
which you proved were staged when you replicated them on demand for a GQ photo shoot, are
doing nothing but reinforcing the stereotype that the conservative right is insane. Your entire 9/12 project
has nothing to do with uniting America and everything to do with reinforcing neo-conservative rhetoric
about how we should relinquish our rights and accept the police state because terrorists want to attack us
and Saddam Hussein has WMD's and yellowcake." -- Alex Jones in an open letter
to Glenn Beck, Link
Subject: How did Bart get in
a party of brain-dead losers?
...because you seem paralyzed by terror at the
very thought of a third party?
(I love you, man -- I'm subbed to a monthly donation
through PayPal, & every now & then
I guilt myself into coming up with a tiny bit
extra, as I did a couple of weeks ago -- but sometimes
I wonder if you even want my money, considering
the conniption fit you throw every time the dreaded
term "Nader voter" comes up. I was one of those
in 2000, & if I even believed in the efficacy of voting
-- thanks to the Electoral College, the fact
that I live in Alabama means I'd be wasting the gas it took me
to get to the polls -- I'd probably be looking
for an alternative again. Crazy me -- Obama has been
sooooooo effective & sooooooo on-target in
keeping his promises, hasn't he?)
*sigh* Keep up the good fight, regardless.
Dan
Dan, you gotta know I'd dump these losers in a second - but to go where?
I like Nader's message, mostly, and I'd even like him personally if
he wasn't the most stubborn
and lazy man in politics. He just had too good a time helping
Bush in 2000 and 2004.
If he was sincere, why didn't he run for congress?
And what makes you think Nader would keep his word any more than Obama
has?
Has there been a Democratic President in my lifetime who didn't disappoint
his party?
No.
Clinton was our only double winner and he's the most hated Democrat
there is.
Excerpt: Even now, Republican leaders in Washington -
presumably including the black RNC chairman Michael Steele - make
common cause with the neo-Confederates. They
pretend not to notice the Dixie flags, the habitual expressions of racism
and bigotry or the poisonous attitude toward
Lincoln, King and the other saviors of the nation. And they pretend that
the
politicians who stoke these smoldering hatreds
are loyal to the same ideals as the rest of us.
This is the ugly underside of the farthest right-wing
elements of the Republican Party. Promoting Joe Wilson as a
symbol of the GOP is a dangerous game, but it
is nothing new for a political leadership that has been flirting with
the neo-Confederates for decades now. Ever since
Strom Thurmond left the Democratic Party in 1948,
what was once the party of Lincoln has veered
closer and closer to the ideology of his assassin.
"I think the guy’s wrong. I think not only
it was racism, it was justifiable racism. That’s the lesson we’re being taught here today. Kid
shouldn’t have been on the bus anyway. We need segregated buses - it was invading space and stuff.
This is Obama’s America." --
Rush, saying America's changed because one kid got beat up on a school
bus,
"'This is Obama’s America.' What does this
mean, exactly? That kids never beat up other
kids on school buses before Obama became President?" --
misscoleopteramolly, Link
"I'm interested in hearing from those people
at the rally, what's on their minds. I'm looking for the people who carried the signs. I want
those people talked to. I want them interviewed. I want journalists
to be all over those rallies and those marches
of the birthers and the tea baggers." -- Maxine Waters,
with a great idea, Link
That's a great idea.
Put these teabagging birther handjobs on Meet the Whore
and ask them what the hell they want.
The whore press won't do that because that would kill the
story.
These nutjobs don't have a valid point of view so a calm interview
doesn't suit their needs.
If David Gregory asked them, "Why do
you dislike Obama" and they replied, "I
want my country back," most people would laugh at them so the whore press WILL NOT ask
them simple questions.
Screaming clowns make great TV so they're not going to kill that
golden goose.
The pros need 'action' on everything, they don't
care if it's skill/luck or whatever, everything has to have action.
It's boring to fold fold fold and then get a
hand and get no action on it. You can spend an hour or more waiting
for a hand, or even more waiting for a hand that
gets played against (No good having Aces and then everyone folds).
So you put in 'props'...You bet somebody 10,000
dollars the flop will come out red, he puts 10,000 on black,
with a bonus if it's all red or all black. Then
you get yourself and other people to bet on certain cards, or card combos
to show up on the flop. At my old dealer home
game, we'd all take a card (I'd take 8's, someone else would take 3's,
someone else 5's, one other guy Kings.) and if
any of your cards showed on the flop, you got paid.
It makes every flop exciting, because now you
have a bet on every flop, it doesn't matter if you fold all the time,
cause now all that matters is you get to win/lose
based on the flop. Sure there's no skill to it, but to hell with skill
when you can have excitement.
The pros play Chinese Poker all the time and it's
a total crapshoot, no skill at all, but you play every hand in it
and it's a pretty quick game, every hand takes
about 3 minutes and there's money on it. They just want something
fun to do. The money is meaningless to them.
--Mike the Dealer.
Mike, thanks for that.
BTW, we're thinking about taking up a football betting pool.
I don't think we'll actually bet - unless everyone wants to - but
"Plaintiff's counsel, who champions herself
as a defender of liberty and freedom, seeks to use the power of the judiciary to compel the President
to "prove his innocence" to "charges" that are based upon conjecture and speculation. Plaintiff’s
complaint is not plausible on its face. To the extent that it alleges any
"facts", the Complaint does not connect those
facts to any actual violation of Plaintiff’s individual constitutional
rights. Unlike in Alice in Wonderland, simply
saying something is so does not make it so." --
District Judge Clay Land, a Bush appointee, dismissing a lawsuit brought
by Orly Taitz, the Queen Birther, Link
"Judge Clay Land should be tried for treason
with Obama." --
Orly Taitz, the Queen Birther Link
Illegal aliens will drive.
If they don’t have car insurance and are in an
accident with you,
there is no one to pay for your damaged car (or
worse).
Illegal aliens will get sick and injured.
If they don’t have medical insurance
they will go to the ER and we will
pay their highly expensive bills.
Why don’t we want them insured?
Ole zenferret
I'm sure it's because the insurance bastrds will sell you $200 worth
of insurance for $500
and their excuse is, "But there are so many
uninsured people/drivers out there."
If we insured everybody, they could only charge us $200 for $200
worth if insurance.
That's why the GOP wants to kill health care so the insurance bastards
can continue raping us.

Excerpt: When White House press secretary Dana Perino
was told that 77 percent of the country thought we were on
the wrong track, she said what I was thinking:
"Who on earth is in the other 23 percent?” I knew who they were
- the same people supporting the John McCain
campaign. Me? I figured there was no way in hell any Republican
would vote for that guy.
McCain, a temperamental media darling, had spent
most of the past 8 years running against the GOP and Bush.
Republicans on Capitol Hill and at the White
House hated him. Choosing John McCain as our standard-bearer
would be the height of self-delusion. It would
be like putting Camilla in charge of the Princess Diana Foundation.
As it turned out, I was the one who was deluded.
The people I worked with in the White House were the most
loyal of the Bush loyalists. Dana Perino was
so sensitive to criticism of Bush that she once said she couldn’t watch
the Democratic convention because it would be
"too mean" to the president. Yet I watched them embrace McCain
enthusiastically - backing a guy who’d worked
so hard to undermine them. It was a cynical bargain.
I said the same thing - No way McCain would
be the nominee because they all hated him.
What we didn't realize is that everyone else
- Rudy, Romney, Thompson - was even worse.
"E-mail: 'Dear Rush, your message is immortal,
but you are not. What will happen to us after you? Can you have sex with 20 girls and
produce 20 Rush baby boys?' -- Rush, reading his e-mail,
Butt that's the problem - Rush is having sex with 20 young boys.
Excerpt: Beck is on a huge roll. Over the last month,
the right-wing handjob has claimed the scalp of Van Jones;
motivated thousands of inbred, teabagging, birther
rednecks to turn out for town hall meetings and a Sept. 12
march on Washington; pummeled Democrats over
ACORN and Obama's czars; and landed himself a spot
on the cover of Time magazine.
"Beck is the man of the moment," says the Weekly
Standard.
"Everybody in town is watching him, waiting to
see what he'll do next, who he'll take down next."
But if Beck is the man of the moment, where does
that leave Rush?

Quotes
"Jimmy Carter said that Joe Wilson's outburst
at Obama was based on racism. When Joe Wilson heard that, he said,
'I can't get mad at Jimmy Carter. He's white.'" -- Jimmy Fallon,
Bart, I had to rewind my DVR as I thought I had
misunderstood Todd when he was talking on Morning Joe this morning,
but alas no, I think I understood him perfectly.
In fact everyone on the program including David Gregory and Harold Ford
Jr.
Harold Ford Jr (Black Democrat) is VERY religious
and VERY conservative.
Like Obama, he wants to be friends with the crazies
who'd prefer to see him dead.
They were talking about Nancy Pelosi and what
she said regarding the violence brewing among the fringe right.
Todd proclaimed how this was awkward for the
President and how he was going to have to reign in is supporters.
WTF? The DEMS are the one's who need to
be reigned in? Really Todd, really? That's where the problem
lies, is it?
If I didn't know better, I would have assumed
by their discussion this morning that it was the left
that was talking about revolution and screaming
and raging in the streets, not the right.
As I listened further, the criticism was that
Pelosi (and Carter) were the ones making things difficult and creating
a
"debate about the debate" which wasn't helpful
when what we all needed to be discussing the issue of healthcare.
They can't be this dumb, they just can't be.
Pelosi and Carter are trying to warn us about the road we are on,
not cause a little distraction for the President.
They should be thanked, not told to shut up.
What Todd and his crew NEED to be discussing is
how the republicans should disavow these nutjobs on the right
instead of encouraging them. Why can't
they see how this is escalating? I'm genuinely worried for the safety
of Obama
and us lefties in general.
The knuckle draggers are getting more and more
worked up leading to God knows where
but the left is at fault for pointing it out?
Give me strength!
Aileen
Teabagging birther handjobs are the greatest TV spectacle since Monica's
stained dress.
The whore networks will continue to run their brainless rants wall-to-wall
and 24/7.
Of course, as always, the Democrats didn't see it coming and still don't
know it's there.
It's easy
- just call the BartPhone at 1-800-530-2979
and
leave your 2 minute message or question or joke or impression to be played
on BCR. If you screw it up, just say it again and I'll edit the bad part
out. Ditto Monkeys
are welcome to call!
Keep your
language decent so I can
play it in BCR!
Excerpt: If Joe Wilson's outburst during Obama's speech
Wednesday night was truly "spontaneous," as Wilson claims, and no one
(including Wilson himself) could have anticipated
it, how come there is a sharply focused and neatly centered picture of
Wilson
right at the moment he shouted "You lie!" when
the outburst lasted less than a second? In the picture, Wilson's mouth
is still open,
apparently in the middle of his shouting "lie."
There are 535 members of Congress in attendance
during the joint session. Why did someone have a camera fixed and focused
on him
during Obama's speech? The picture in question
has been variously credited to "Getty Images," "AFP" (Agence France-Presse)
or
"Chip Somodevilla." None of them are local press
in South Carolina, which might have had a reason to pay particular attention
to their
local Congressman during the speech.
I just don't see how the picture could be possible.
How can you capture someone's "spontaneous" moment,
when there are more than 535 other people around to pay attention to?"
I wondered the same thing.
That's not a screen grab from the TV, that's an actual photograph.
Someone knew exactly when to focus their camera on racist Joe.
Excerpt: The panel for Heroes at Comic-Con was designed to tell the storylines
for the major characters.
Throw in a lesbian kiss with Claire, and you
have one jam-packed panel.
The kiss is the big story, though the producers
tried to play it like it's no big deal.
But if it's not a big deal, why show the clip
it at Comic-Con?
