Vol
2399 - Moronica
Inhofe and Coburn
Quote of
the Day
"Now is the time to strengthen our defenses and those of our allies."
"
-- McCain, on why Obama should waste billions of dollars
on a missle defense
system that's never worked, Link
"A report says that the first state that's
coming out of the recession is going to be the state of Texas...I
said, 'We're in a recession?'" -- Texas Governor Perry, who's
about to secede from the governor's mansion Link
"This gaffe is going to stick. It is going
to be national news. It will come back to haunt him. You cannot be callous and cavalier
when people are losing their jobs and their homes. Everybody knows someone who is suffering.
It could cost him the race." -- Paul Begala, Link
Excerpt: Consider the variety of overtly racist rhetoric
that has plagued us since Obama's election. Haley Barbour's "right hand"
speaking at
a racist conference. Racist emails circulated
by Republican staffers. Republicans demonstrating in Klan outfits. Republican
mayors
depicting the White House behind a watermelon
patch. And campaign tactics which included depicting Obama's face surrounded
by
fried chicken and watermelon, posters and websites
attempting to link Obama to bin Laden, Pakin praising a racist writer,
and more.
In July, Senator George Voinovich (R-Oh) publicly
complained that the GOP is "being taken over by southerners."
Tim Pawlenty voiced similar fears a year ago.
Senators Snowe and Collins are worrying about the GOP's increasingly narrow
base.
The future does not hold much hope for the GOP
when the response of various demographics are taken into account.
America is becoming increasingly multi-cultural,
and support for the GOP amongst minorities is at the bottom of the barrel.
ha ha
You mean the racist sons of bitches are getting what's coming to them?
Of course, it's not from the democrats - they're too afraid to fight.
But the less-white-every-day voters are angry with the party of racist
bastards.
I've been thinking a lot of Kennedy and Dallas
as I've watched the increasingly violent rhetorical
attacks on Obama be unfurled. As Americans yank
their kids of class in order to save them from being
exposed to the President of the United States
who only wanted to urge them to excel in the classroom.
And as unvarnished hate and name-calling passed
for health care 'debate' this summer.
The radical right, aided by a GOP Noise Machine
that positively dwarfs what existed in 1963,
has turned demonizing Obama--making him into
a vile object of disgust--into a crusade.
It's a demented national jihad, the likes of
which this country has not seen in modern times.
But I've been thinking about Dallas in 1963 because
I've been recalling the history and how
that city stood as an outpost for the radical
right, which never tried to hide its contempt for JFK.
I assume the Secret Service is extra-alert in the "I-hate-that-nigger"
era.
I also assume Obama won't riding in an open-air convertibles?
Excerpt: A nice little preview of upcoming attractions
was offered by Rush Liimbaugh,
"We have a president here who is not scrutinized,
who is not examined. There is no attempt to be suspicious of power anymore. So is it
possible that we really have an African-American president? Or does having an African-American
president paralyze the process by which people with that kind of power in our representative
republic are kept "honest?"
You can almost hear the faux regretful sighs as
these born again racists shake their heads and say,
that, well -- it’s sad, really. Yes, racial equality
was a good-hearted experiment, and we gave it
our best shot, but alas, African Americans just
aren’t ready for it yet….
The end of that headline is ...to
a national race war.
How close are we going to get before Obama comes to work?
He can say "That doesn't exist"
500 times, but it's still there.
I realize he wants this to go away, but when has
ignoring a worsening problem ever been a good idea?
"I used to think that awards were just shallow
tokens of momentary popularity, but now I realize they are the only
true measure of a person's worth as a human being," -- Job Cryer, accepting his
Emmy last night, Link
I read up on the Fox train wreck and read that
his mom and brother both committed suicide,
probably within minutes of his birth. His other
brother hung around till Glenn's ranting gave him a heart attack.
We can only hope if he hangs around Fox long
enough he will have the same effect. Keep swinging that hammer.
Tony in NJ
Maybe that explains why he's such an unstable prick.
Excerpt: The old GOP Southern strategy is gone. The more
the party is identified with nasty name-calling, freak-show protestors,
immigrant-bashing (the proximate cause of Wilson’s
outburst at Obama) and, yes, racism, the faster it will commit demographic
suicide as America becomes ever younger and more
diverse. But Democrats shouldn’t be cocky. Over the short term, the real
economic grievances lurking beneath the extremism
of the Beck brigades can do damage to both parties. The recession-spawned
anger that Beck has tapped into on the right
could yet find a more mainstream outlet in a populist revolt from the left
and center.
"All pornography is homosexual pornography
because all pornography turns your sexual drive inwards. And if you tell an 11-year-old boy
about that, do you think he’s going to want to go out and get Playboy? I’m pretty sure he’ll lose interest.
That’s the last thing he wants." --
Tom Coburn, confessing he started masturbating at age 11, Link
How about that - Tom Coburn had solved the deadly 11 year-old
masturbation problem that's plaguing this nation.
I expect the Dow to climb at least 200 points today.
Every grass roots activist and every grass roots
organization must make clear to the Blue Dogs
that we expect them to vote with us and the President
on health care reform and a strong public option.
If they do not support us on this, we will never
forget, and never forgive.
If we make absolutely clear to them that we will
never support them in the future,
and oppose them whenever we can, they will have
to come along.
Let’s get the word out: It’s hammer swinging time.
LMW
LMW - flaw in the plan.
Our Democrats don't know how to fight - even
after you show them.
They ONLY time they take up arms is to fight each other.
Then the winner lets the Rethugs roll them, rob them and rape them.
"Glenn Beck's really taken off but when you
try to nail him down he'll go 'Oh
I'm just a rodeo clown'. Well this rodeo clown is making
a lot of people very angry." --
Joe Scarborough, who hasn't killed any interns in 5-6 years,
Link
Excerpt: For much of the last forty years, ever since
America "fixed" its race problem in the Civil Rights
and Voting Rights Acts, we white people have
been impatient with African Americans who continued
to blame race for their difficulties. Often we
have heard whites ask, "When are African Americans finally
going to get over it? Now I want to ask: "When
are we White Americans going to get over our ridiculous
obsession with skin color?
Recent reports that "Election Spurs Hundreds'
of Race Threats, Crimes" should frighten and infuriate
every one of us. Having grown up in "Bombingham,"
Alabama in the 1960s, I remember overhearing an
avalanche of comments about what many white classmates
and their parents wanted to do to John and
Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King. Eventually,
someone decided to do more than "talk the talk."
Since our recent presidential election, we are
once again hearing the same reprehensible talk
"The conservative voice isn't being well-represented.
Glenn Beck is tapping into something that may not be so constructive in terms of raising
the bar of the conversations and representing the conservative voice in
an elegant way. -- Mika Brzezinski, worried
that her precious GOP is dying, Link
Just wondering how many teabaggers would be teabaggin’
it if there was the
slightest chance they wouldn’t be making it home…
in one piece or not at all.
You want to see teabaggers, go to Iran. There,
you’ll see real tea baggers.
There’s a big difference in dedication when you
have government supplied employees (police)
protecting your ass in one place and having the
same employees targeting your ass in another.

Excerpt: This site exists to try and help examine the
vicious rumour that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young girl in 1990.
We don't claim to know the truth -- only that
the rumour floating around saying that Glenn Beck raped and murdered
a young girl in 1990 should be discussed. So
we're going to do our part to try and help get to the bottom of this.
Why won't Glenn Beck deny these allegations?
Why won't he deny that he raped and killed a
young girl in 1990?
Excerpt: CNN host Douche Blitzer may know his news, (This
from CNN.com) but when it comes to “Jeopardy!,”
Blitzer just might be the dumbest political monkey
to play the game since braindead Cokie Roberts.
In a scene seemingly taken from “Saturday Night
Live,” the Douche had trouble with every question
on “Celebrity Jeopardy! on Thursday, leaving
a score of negative $4,600 at the end.
Swear to Koresh, I have an IQ of 64 but *I* wouldn't land in negatiove
territory
bercause I've got the brains to only ring in when I knew the damn answer.
Douche Blitzer has been CNN's premier moron for
over a decade.
"This funeral will be somewhat emotional for
Teddy's widow," said The Douche 2 weeks ago.
How can CNN expect to be taken seriously with this rubber hose in charge?
I deffinately here the N-word here in Kentucky
alot. I used to play in a regular Friday nite poker game.
One time I was trying to get this guy to vote
Dem. He stated that he voted for the repubs "because all the niggers
voted for the Dems".
This was pre-Obama. This guy is a collage graduate
from U.of K (civil engineer) AND registered Democrat.
Recient poll had 51% here did not believe/ were
not sure Obama was a U.S. citizen.
OK may be most ignorant but, KY gets a (dis)honorable
mention.
Joe B. in Lexington, KY
Subject: the N word
That guy who never heard the N word is very naive.
He may have managed to avoid hearing it, but
I have heard it frequently in North Carolina.
It's amazing what people will say in the privacy
of their own homes where they feel safe.
Not only is the N-word bandied about, but one
of my in laws tried to teach my preschooler at the time
the southern version of eenie meenie miny mo.
And when they are trying to be polite they refer to "chocolate babies"
My best friend is black, and I notice a difference
in people's reaction when I am out and about with her and her kids.
It's a certain hard look in their eyes that I
don't see when I am on my own. I don't think she even notices it.
I am convinced these people have a mental disability
brought on from their mother's not hugging them enough or something.
Aileen
Subject: the N word
Let's all grow up and say it. Even in Montana,
where there are few black people, "sand nigger" is what
Native Americans are called. So let's air it
out, use it, and call it what it is. A bigoted slur.
Steve in MT
Subject: the N word
IF the reader/writer who has never heard the "n"
word here is black, that is understandable.
They're ignorant here, but not stupid.
Most will look around before saying the word.
If he is white, just tell him to walk up to anybody
anywhere and ask, "Heard any good jokes lately?"
I was in Panama City Beach last month talking
to some Alabamians.
They don't even look around before saying "nigger."
They use the word like we use the word "hamburgers"
and "trucks."
You don't bother to look around before saying
common everyday words! Took ME aback!
I was looking around, like OMG! He
didn't just...

David Letterman goes head-to-head with the leader of the free world.
Just kidding,
Barack vs Dave tonight on The
Late Show.
I'm going to watch.
Sidebar: Letterman, Jon Stewart and Bill Maher are ten times the bulldogs
the whore media claimed Russert was.
We all know Russert was only interested in one thing.
"Saying "you’re wrong" to a white politician
is a disagreement; saying it to a black politician is like shouting through Bull Connor’s
megaphone. It’s been said that a grand jury can indict a ham sandwich. Well, these people
can indict a ham sandwich for being racist." -- Jonah Goldberg, trying to live
down "the shame" of being LBJ's bastard, Link

Quotes
"It's everything you could want in a reform
bill, you know, except reform. It is a watered-down, ineffectual blow
job to the health insurance industry." -- Bill Maher, on Max Baucus's health
care gift to the insurance companies
Remember we talked about Poker After Dark with the small betting
and the crazy $50K side bets on each flop?
That changed in big way when we got to Thursday and Friday - they went
berzerk.
This one new, young player Ilari Shamies was getting "hit in the head
by the deck." (That's good.)
He'd get AA, then AK, then JJ, and he was rainging $30, $50K $90K each
turn.
Once Ilari (which sounds like Hillary) had nothing, bluffed a $50K bet,
then Phil Ivey,
the Tiger Woods of Poker (Make me f-ing gag!) came back
and raised it to $150K
There was a couple of all-ins for $200K or more - and this is real
money. When you watch World Poker Tour or the World Series,
those are chips.
Hard to believe this was the same timid bunch who stuck to $3K and
$5K bets earlier.
I thought sure when these young punks went up against the old pros,
they'd get smoked - I was wrong.
These kids have played more hands than the pros because they're online
and they play 4 hands at a time
and they never have to wait for a game. Tom Dwan, who's 21 or
22, has played more hands than Doyle.
Funny story: In 1971 or so, Dayle was playing in the WSOP when he saw TV cameras
so he bolted.
He couldn't afford for his friends and neighbors to know he was a professional
gambler.
He told people he taught school - it was unseemly to be a poker
player back then.
Sidebar: We don't watch Celebrity Apprentice, but in their last season,
pro Annie Duke was on with Joan Rivers,
and Rivers kept saying, "You're a poker
player!" as if she was calling her the C-word.
Rivers called Duke, "Worse than Hitler,"
but a professional poker player knows to let that slide.
They say Duke would've beat Rivers, but the winner was decided by Trump
and he decided
he could make more money letting Joan Rivers win than someone who was,
"Worse
than Hitler."
These days, they sometimes bet more than the value of Casa de Bart
on each card.
Can you imaginbe workling 30 years to pay off your mortage and then
watch some punk kid
who never worked a day in his life betting hundreds of thousands of
dollars - and he's bluffing?
Ain't no shame in that kind of work if you can get it.
We all know that Barack Obama is bullshitting
someone. He's either completely serious about the progressive
policy changes he promised during the elections,
and he's jerking Republican leg with his "reach for bipartisanship",
or he's misleading the left. Something happened
this week that exposed his soul.
Earlier this week Jimmy Carter told a known and
absolute truth that Republican hate for Obama is, at least in part, racism.
Denying the blatantly obvious, Obama disagreed
with him! He instead suggested his honorable Republican opponents (ha ha
ha)
are above racism and would never stoop so low!
Of course, the racist Right knew he was full of shit in defending them,
and Obama knew we'd all know it too. So why?
Why lie when doing so would actually help the
racist Right defend themselves against charges of racism?
... to help prevent racism from becoming
more visible and more popular. When GOP leaders publicly deny being racist
they admit that racism is wrong. Their denials
show that being racist is an embarrassingly shameful thing to be.
Barack fibbed to force racists to show that racism
is wrong and socially unacceptable, thereby tamping it down.
Jimmy Carter forced these scum to deny hating
black people, and Barack gleefully stamped their claims CONFIRMED!
I'll bet they planned it!
If Obama is using the same level of intelligence
in other similarly confusing situations, ones in which his words and deeds
don't completely mesh with his purported intentions,
perhaps he does have a chance at a successful Presidency.
We need to support this man through the good
and bad. Attacking him without knowing his plan would be self-defeating.
You know how much we complain about American
idiots who work against themselves, and perhaps we do so ourselves.

Weekend
Sports
It was one of the best weekends in sports ever!!
The Cardinals got closer to the playoffs, the Oklahoma Sooners won by
45
but the best part was the Giants kicked the 'Boys on their fancy
stadium premier.
Excerpt: Tony Romo has a habit of throwing footballs to
guys without stars on their helmet.
Since taking over as the Dallas Cowboys quarterback
in 2006, he's thrown 46 interceptions in 40 games.
Make that 49.
And these last three didn’t just cost the Cowboys
the game, they spoiled Jerry Jones big prime time shindig.
After Romo’s first interception was returned for
a touchdown, Felix Jones fumbled away the kickoff.
Jerry’s face flashed upon the big screen. He
was picking his nose in high def.
