to Chicago's ban on handguns, opening the way for
a ruling that could set off a vigorous new campaign
to roll back state and local gun controls across the nation.
Victory for gun-rights proponents in the Chicago

in the latest battle in the nation's long and
often bitter dispute over the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
A ruling against the city's outright ban could
lead to legal challenges to less-restrictive laws across the country that
limit
who can own guns, whether firearms must be registered
and how they should be stored.
The case is to be argued early next year.
Last year, the justices struck down a prohibition
on handguns in the District of Columbia, a city with unique federal status,
as a violation of the Second Amendment. Now they
will decide whether that ruling should apply to local and state laws as
well.

Net Neutrality is a liberal issue, brought about
when Comcast and other companies wanted to control the content
crossing their networks. The Bush administration
thought that would be cool, as it could lead to corporate control
of internet media and the strangulation of independent
bloggers and ranters. Net Neutrality grew in reaction to that.
It's not about the government deciding what goes
across networks, it's about stopping corporate network gatekeepers
from selling access to the highest bidder. Without
it, a company like Comcast could decide it's customers don't need to
read Bartcop, unless of course you were willing
to pay through the nose, and they would make your page load so slowly
readers would leave before it was finished. Meanwhile,
Fox News pages would load lightning fast.

Cheney interview
Is this why Cheney wanted Libby pardoned?
Excerpt:
A federal judge ruled Thursday that the FBI must
publicly reveal much of its interview with Cheney during the Plame investigation.
Both the Bush and Obama administrations said
they wanted to keep the interview confidential because future presidents
and
vice presidents may not cooperate with criminal
investigations if they know what they say could became public.
Since when do they have the right to refuse top
cooperate?
Why should any adminsitration get a free pass when crimes are committed?
But U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan ruled there
was no justification to withhold the entire 67 pages.
Government attorneys told Sullivan in a hearing
this summer that if he ordered the documents released,
they would appeal and seek to withhold the documents
until the matter is resolved.
The Plame leak touched off a lengthy inquiry that
led to Cheney's aide, Scooter Libby, being convicted of obstruction of
justice
and lying to investigators. During his trial,
jurors found that Libby lied to the FBI and a grand jury about his conversations
with reporters.
Libby told the FBI in 2003 that it was possible
that Cheney ordered him to reveal Plame's identity to reporters.
Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald said at Libby's
trial that there was a "cloud" over Cheney's role in the case.
I don't understand the lack of justice.

Can we now boycott the internet for making false accusations? The accusation
that “Glenn Beck raped and murdered a girl in
1990” has apparently gone… well, viral. A whole website has sprung up

Glenn Beck has yet to respond to the charges.
Here is the text that was reported on Ireport.com
May 10, 1990, 11 year old Robin Cornell and
her 32 year old babysitter, Lisa Storey were found beaten, raped,
and smothered to death in Cape Coral, Florida.
Police are now interviewing local detectives to re-open the case,
but if they don’t find any new leads by the
end of the year it will be closed. They are also looking into airing an
episode on Americas Most Wanted. This town
desperately needs your help in solving this case. Beck was also
linked to the rape and murder of seven-year
old Margaret Shrader in Harris County, Texas in 1990.
