A few Senators lied to us

We didn't win the public option campaign was
because a few Senators lied to us.
Back on May 21st, there were only 28 Senators
in support of a triggerless public option.
Through your tireless participation in a whip
count effort, by October 8th we raised that number
to 51 when Jon Tester came out in support.
By October 30th, when Evan Bayh said he wouldn't
filibuster, we were up to 56 Democrats for cloture
on health care reform with a public option.
From that point, the only four Senators we still
needed all lied to us in one form or another.
Both Mary Landrieu and Blanche Lincoln signed
a document stating that they supported a public option,
only to reverse their positions. Blanche
Lincoln's website still comically claimed she supported a
public option even as she was declaring her opposition
to one on the Senate floor.
The liars should be punsihed, but we don't punish the backstabbers in
our party.
That wouldn't be nice, and Democrats are all about being nice..

I saw the show when it first happened. It was
about a month ago.
He started pronouncing it that way and then told
a guest the reason for doing so
was that he just found out that's the way it's
actually supposed to be pronounced.
He also stated that he will be saying like that
from now on because it's the correct way.
I'm guessing he's right since he made such a
big deal out of it.

Seems like for 50 years I've heard Andy Williams sing,
"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"
and I liked it.
But then this year we find out that Andy Williams is a birther-crazy
religio-handjob.
Yeah, he said Obama was a Muslim fraud, out to destroy America, something
like that.
Why would an entertainer say something so false and so stupid?
When Natalie Raines of the Dixie Chicks said "I'm
ashamed of Bush," that was a fact.
Nobody on the planet can say Natalie Maines lied when
she said she was ashamed that
America's president caused the deaths of thousands (some say a million)
innocent people.
But Andy Williams is totally lying when he says Obama is a destroy-America Muslim.
So, after 50 years of "I like the guy," now it's become

Aim for March. By April, the snow gets dicey.
If you're lucky, you'll snag March just after
the rates drop but with a good snowfall to boot.
What about the week after Spring Break?
Or maybe the first week after the prime Winter
rates drop?
Only problem is all the damn families up for Spring
Break.
Last I was in Breckenridge, it was March, but
everyone was from OK or Dallas or something.
Hanging out in the hot tub was still a rush,
and if God's flowers were part of the deal, I'l probably never had made
the flight home.
You can go for April; I know you're a bettin'
man, but these aren't the best odds.
Pretty soon you can saddle up for skiing in Argentina
instead.

the "right to privacy" can breathe a big sigh of relief, for now.
Late Friday, a judge extended a temporary restraining
order against a bill that would publish online extensive
details about women's abortions. Now, enforcement
of the law will be set aside until a February 19 hearing on
its constitutionality, thanks to a lawsuit by
the Center for Reproductive Rights. In a press release, staff attorney
Jennifer Mondino said the organization is "very
pleased with today’s ruling" because "women in Oklahoma
should not have to jump through hoops to access
legal medical care."
The loathsome law, which we've written about before,
requires women to fill out a highly personal 10-page
questionnaire before they terminate a pregnancy.
In particular, the cross-examination focuses on the reason
for the woman's decision to have an abortion.
