I was reminded last night...
Have you ever been in a Las Vegas Sports Nook
(That's what they call that room where
the Vegas bookies take the bets on sports) when
a college or pro football game is on?
If somebody makes a big play - like a sack or
a first down, the place goes NUTS!
It's possible that people in the room have $1,000,
$5,000, $10,000 or maybe even $50,000
riding on this game and when something happens,
you see people jump out of their seats.
Can you image...what's it must've been like...to
be in Vegas, say at The Bellagio for the BIG game,
you've bet your ass on the underdog Saints,
who somehow happen to be winning but Payton Manning,
one of the best quarterbacks is history, is closing
in to tie the game up ...and THAT happens?
At Casa de Bart, both of us were jumping and screaming and we didn't have a bet on the game.
And I know money isn't everything but imagine
what it's like to have $50,000 worth of Nawlins Saint's faith,
only to see them down by ten points early in
the game and then watch them claw their way back into the lead
and your heart's pounding in your chest from
the tension and then Tracy Porter snatches that ball to make some
serious football history - DAMN I would've paid
to witness that in Vegas.
...kinda gives me a little bit of Vegas fever.
