Before Martin Luther King in the 1960s blacks
were considered second class citizens.
They did the work no one else would do at wages
far below that of white people.
Now Hispanics are in the same positions as blacks
were before 1960.
Under the guise that some of them might be illegal
immigrants Hispanics are
being pushed down by white racists who have a
new race to oppress.
Sarah Palin fueling this racism is saying that
"We are all Arizonians now".
Actually every human on the continent are the
decedents of someone who immigrated from somewhere else.
White people are not native to America, so the
way I see it, we are all immigrants now.
I'm not sure what the Republicans have in mind
by trying to organize America into "us vs. them"
because they are giving Hispanics more motivation
to vote than they ever had before.
I don't see how alienating more voters is going
to help the party of Bush win elections.

You're right about the economics of growing up
in Humboldt for the most part.
However, there are still people in Napa getting
hundreds of dollars per bottle of wine
and Charles Shaw (2 Buck Chuck) is also making
a living.
I know a guy who knows a guy who is looking forward
to legalization believing that he can
get premium prices for premium weed. And
the neo-hippies, and former loggers and former
fisherman will still get their $250 or less per
ounce and still make a living, just not a killing.
Sort of like it's tougher for most moonshiners
to cash in these days.
Most of the growers are dealing pounds anyway,
so if a pound used to go for $3200,
it may go for $2000, but it's still not bad money.
Super high quality, in both THC content
and attention to detail in trimming and handling
will still bring in big bucks. The best costs more.
Do they sell Bixby 3 cans for a dollar like the
supermarket sells corn?

I'm not sure I get your last sentence, but you are correct.
The quality weed will bring whatever the owner asks for it.
I'm a believer that the good stuff is cheaper, anyway.
Why smoke a fattie if a double puff will take you there?
And as far as Biby corn - great example.
They sell that corn for three dollars a dozen or $12 a bushel.
I'd pay a buck an ear for the good stuff, maybe two bucks because to
me,
it tastes as good as a perfectly-cooked rib eye or a filet mignon!
Yum!
There's only 30 days left until corn season.
This is a Conrad Farm's corn field in early May.
By June 20th, those stalks will be taller than me.

The picture is of an IBM wiring plant.
The women are working on circuit boards for an
IBM 650 mainframe computer.
The beast was in production from 1954 through
1962; though replacement
components were still being made as late as 1969.
The building in the photo is possibly part of
IBM’s plant in Endicott, NY.,
where the 650 was manufactured. Possibly in the
“Endicott Interconnect” division.
So the photo could be dated anywhere from about
1958 through 1968-1969.
I still think it’s in the later half of the 60’s,
based on the building architecture.

Bart, you asked, "Where are the men?"
I see one man, back by the door.
Is he there to keep the women in? LOL!

As far as I know, Tulsa is THE place to gamble
on the weather.
Sure, other places have had it lots worse, New
Orleans, for example,
but that was five years ago and Tulsa gets bullied
maybe 30 times per year.
Last night was one of those.
There was a wall cloud coming at us from the South.
There was another wall cloud coming at us from the West
Then they merged and we had 3-4 hours of intense
thunderstorms.
.
Weather people aren't all the same - OUR weather
people all played guitar for the Yardbirds.
If you're some bad-ass meteorologist, you WANT to be transfered to
Tulsa or OKC.
Tulsa is where the major leaguers play meteorologist - we own
that.
Our meteorologists have weather software from the future.
We have double Doppler, Viper, WARN and I forget what FOX calls theirs,
but when they do
live weather reports from the field, they have 3D animation that would
give James Cameron wood.
People ask, "So, why do you live there?" Her job's here and we need her income plus her medical insurance.
If I ever make it big, we could move to where the smart people live.
I wonder what it's like to live in a city with people smarter than
my IQ of 64?
I heard Howard Stern mocking that vulgar Pigboy, that idiot Rush Limbaugh.
According to Stern, he says Rush "pulled a Brit Hume" and questioned
the size of the oil spill.
The people who listen to Rush and watch FOX News, they HAVE to be smarter
than that - right?
Even if you're willing to drink Glenn Beck's dirty bath water - and
you have beach-front properly say, in Pensacola, you're more than a little nervous right now -
aren't you?
Sure, Rush and Beck are fun to listen to when they mock liberals
and the poor, but you don't really believe them when they say this oil spill might
turn out to be nothing - do you? Are you aware than oil on the beach stays there forever - unless
you clean every grain of sand?
How do cancerous liars like Rush, Beck, Palin and Hannity etc. maintain
any credibility with their sheep?
Rush is a walking contradiction, saying whatever pops into his tertiary-siphlitic
brain and his flock agrees
then five minutes later he'll say just the opposite and his nutty sheep
agree with him then, too.
Then Stern went into an anti-Pigboy rant - it was funny as hell.
He started doing Rush with that over-dramatic, bombastic voice with
the pounding of the desk...
Then Stern said something I did not know about Rush.
All that talk about Rush having a pilonidal cyst? Not true,
Stern says.
He says Rush has a tail. He says Rush's tail flapping around is
what's making
that noise on the table after every sentence not his fist pounding
.
