No Photos Of Dead Animals, Please

  Link

I'm not going to run any pictures of the dead/dying animals.
Yesterday on CNN, they showed a cardboard box full of oil clumps.

Then one of the oil clumps winked and only then did I realize
those clumps were giant, dying birds and it made me sick.

It was worse than any porn I've ever seen and I won't publish any of it.

Subject: Should the government be involved in the oil spill?

It's interesting to see Republicans and Tea Baggers changing their tune when they want the government to bail them out
after the capitalists have failed. After all, isn't the oil spill "Free Enterprise"? They didn't like the government bailing out the banks,
but they want the government to bail out the oil companies and help clean up the spill? I thought they believed that wasn't the
government's role. They shouldn't interfere with the "free market system".

Now the conservatives want the government to "take over". They want government run beach protection? Are they asking for
socialized government run environmental protection? Isn't this just more "government regulation". Just another "big government takeover"?
Why do we care about the environment? That's what those liberal progressive tree hugging global warming socialist hippies want.
Not the conservatives are calling out to the "federal bureaucracy" for a "bailout". What about BP's God given right to make a profit?

When things are good it's easy for Tea Baggers to run their mouth. But when the disasters come and we have to deal with reality
all of a sudden they change their tune and come crying to Uncle Sam wanting the liberals to clean up their mistakes.
I think the news media is giving these people intellectual welfare to even listen to them anymore.

Subject: The Clintons

Hey Bart,

I read an article about Hillary having the highest approval ratings of any US politician, in the mid-60s.
And then of course there was the "revelation" that White House asked Bill Clinton to talk to Sestak.
And it got me thinking, and eventually smiling.

This power couple is still as strong, as powerful and as relevant as ever.  They both still in position to do
so much for US and the world, and they continue doing it.  They have had everything and the kitchen sink
thrown at them, and they both survived, and came out stronger for it.  And it's such a sweet feeling.

They've both become statesmen in their own right.
I will always respect and admire them, and I hope, for the sake of our country and people worldwide,
they will remain in politics as long as they can, because they have that important characteristic that's rare
in a politician...they care about PEOPLE.

Just wanted to vent a bit.

Bart-
I saw the Beatles live in Baltimore, 1964.  Bill Haley and the Comets opened for them.
And I saw Jimi Hendrix at the Virginia Beach Dome in 1968.
Haven't run into many folks who have seen both the Beatles and Hendrix live.

Subject: I know the guy who flipped on greer in the FL GOP invest

Bart:

If you read the search warrant affidavit here
http://miamiherald.typepad.com/files/greerbust.pdf

by LEOs investigating the FL GOP, they reference a Delmar Johnson.

I went to college with Johnson at FSU.
The guy represents everything reprehensible about my fellow republicans (yeah im one so be it)

The guy is fat, obnoxious, a Phi Delta Theta fraternity member who had everyone kissing his ass.
He ran for student government and bought his way in, and became senate president.
His office became a shrine to Ronald Reagan (hey i like Reagan but I don't need busts of the guy
and pictures festooning my office, its unseemly) and George Bush Sr, he made that shit like his home.

Somehow the fat fuck got all sorts of women, or at least appeared to. He had other student government
senators (women - he wasn't gay as much as I could tell but Phi Delt guys who knows, right) all over his lap,
he was Mr. Handy if you catch my drift. He not only looked corrupt, he WAS corrupt, and everyone knew
the guy was full of shit. He had charisma, I'll give him that, but I guess it was just inevitable someone that greasy
and rotten would find his way into the higher eschelons of the Republican party (whom I frankly don't care for).

Just look at this son of a bitch. As my late grandfather used to say,
he's so terrible he makes your ass want a drink of water.
http://www.pensitoreview.com/Wordpress/wp-content/themes/mimbo2.2/images/JimDelmar_large.jpg

Anyways just thought I'd let you know a little more about the bitch snitch who flipped on Greer for likely probation.
I was PRAYING TO GOD he would get a Federal Grand Jury indictment, I would have flown to Miami or wherever to watch that shit.

Subject: I love Michigan

Kate M  should move to a better part of town than Dearborn.
Between the feds raiding the arabs' businesses and the red neck cops who issue DWBs
to every african-american male between the ages of 16 and 75, who would want to live there?

The best things about Dearborn are driving down Warren AVE in the early morning and smelling
the pita bread baking, or having a great meal in one of the many middle eastern restaurants there.

Other parts of metro Detroit are nicer.  My suburb, Warren, is okay.  The racial mix has changed
a great deal since I moved there, because the black middle class is abandoning Detroit in droves,
and buying cheap houses in better school districts.  Warren used to be known as the same sort of
red neck enclave that the non-arab half of Dearborn is filled with.  Now, we even have some black cops!
That is serious progress around here.

The best thing about Michigan is that there is no place in the state that is not within a 30 mile drive of a beach
Beaches on lakes that don't have sharks and don't have oil spills.  Our tourism economy will be booming this summer.
No one is going to want to go to the Gulf Coast for beach time this summer.  Plus, this oil spill in the Gulf has
put to rest the talk of starting to drill in the Great Lakes, something we were all very worried about.

Subject: Cheapest tequila?

Bart,

I recently drove through Tulsa so I could stop by Parkhill Liquors and  was dismayed
to not only discover they were out of Chinaco, they also didn't know when they'd get it again.

Also, their prices didn't seem nearly as good as I remembered from just a few years ago.
I wondered if OK raised the tax on alcohol or something. I seem to remember Chinaco Anejo
(not reposado) for $35 per bottle, but their new price was in the fifties.

Anyway, I'll be driving through OK again in the fall,
and I'm wondering if you had another place to recommend.
 Mark in Santa Fe

Mark, you can't get any cheaper than Parkhill's. Here's the deal: Oklahoma has a law
that you MUST sell your liquor in our state at the very cheapest price you sell to anyone.

Since Chinaco is a small, hand-made tequila, they don't want to sell it for $35
when they can get $65 for it in Nevada, for instance.

Don Julio's 1942 sells for $119 or $125 everywhere in America.
At Parkhill's, it's $74.95.

Subject: Dennis Hopper

I agree that was his AND Walken's best scene, but I don't know what you mean about connecting non-verbally.

Hopper knew he wasn't getting out alive, so he said Walken's Great Great Grandmother had sex with a nigger,
that he was spawned by niggers.  Hardly non-verbal.

Here's the scene:

Landea

The point is, Walken couldn't back down in front of his goons. That would've shown weakness
(perhaps he would've gone so far as to let Hopper go?) so the two men - non-verbally - agreed to go
with the "You made me so mad, I can't wait to kill you" scenario which spared Hopper the torture
and it spared his son's life.

Subject: Welcome back

Hey Bart,

Welcome back.  Great page Wednesday.  Lots and lots of content.
I was thinking, you know what I like best about you?  It's your sense of humor.
You are a funny guy.  I laughed out loud at your little rip on LimpBalls's new wife.

Sorry I haven't been able to send you a few $$ lately, but I need to put away all I can,
because, now that my probation is coming to an end, big bucks are going to be required come October.
That's when it's gonna cost me upwards of $600 to get my license back.
Promise I'll try to squeeze in a few bucks somewhere though.

Welcome back again, old friend. And keep the gallows humor coming as America
continues to implode in its attempt to demonstrate that "greed is good".

Bart, those are M40 self-propelled 155mm howitzers of "Battery G, 937th Field Artillery Battalion"
Army unit which served in Korea in 1951.

The 155mm is approximately an 8 inch shell; the howitzer has a bulldozer blade at the rear which was
buried in the ground to counteract recoil, and you are right the noise would have been deafening.

"The Obama administration is blocking all new offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico,
a day after regulators approved a new permit for drilling in shallow water. An e-mail Thursday

We can't believe anything the Whore AP says.

But if the Whore AP were semi-trust-worthy, it would appear that some oil company
