"The rich are not paying their fair share in any nation that is facing these kinds of employment issues.
Brazil has the highest tax-to-GDP rate in the Western Hemisphere and guess what – they're growing like crazy.
And the rich are getting richer, but they're pulling people out of poverty. There is a certain formula there
that used to work for us, until we abandoned it, to our regret in my opinion."

Our brain-dead Democrats are so stupid, they can't even follow Bill's blueprint.
He already should us how to make the economy hum, but our Democrats can't figure it out.

He showed them how to win elections, too, but they're just not into winning.

Subject: Can Good come from the BP Oil Spill?

I'm just hoping that after the worst oil disaster in history that if it's really going to be bad that it is bad enough
to shut up the "Drill Baby Drill" crown and those who keep saying that we don't need government regulation.
Without regulating these companies the Taxpayer's have to pick up the cost of these corporate mistakes.
They want to play "capitalist" and "free market" but when they fail we have to bail them out. I wonder if the
Tea Party thinks that the taxpayer should bail out the oil companies in the name of corporate freedom?

We deregulated the electric companies and had rolling blackouts. We deregulated the Savings and Loans in the
1980s and they collapsed and had to have a taxpayer bailout. Then we deregulated the banks and the securities
and we had the taxpayer bailout of 2008. We didn't regulate the mines enough and miners die in explosions.
Now the oil companies have liability caps which means that someone else has to pay for their mistakes.

Where were the government regulators?
They were literally downloading porn, doing drugs, and having sex with corporate lobbyists.

Our nation is a nation of people, but corporations. It's We the People. We have to vote out the politicians
who put the companies who bribe them first before the interests of the common good of the humans they are
supposed to represent. Maybe finally this latest disaster will be bad enough to shut up even Rand Paul and
Sarah Palin who seem to think that foreign oil companies have superior rights to the American public.

Reality changed my life. It can change your life too.

I think we should make off-shore drilling illegal.

Did we know the oil spills could be this bad?
What if a second and a third well explodes?
BP obviously has no clue of how to stop this massive spill
so why the hell do we give them permits to drill that deep?

We may have lost the Gulf of Mexico for our lifetime.
Do we want to gamble with the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, too?

Ands why the hell are we still using oil?
Why doesn't Obama lead us into solar and wind and whatever else works?

I wish we had a president who was awake and responsive.

Subject: Three Stooges Live

Bart,

Around 1960-1963 I was 6 yrs old and living in a Chicago Suburb (Downers Grove).
I went to a Three Stooges Live Show in Chi-town. I can still picture the circus tent they performed under.
When the show ended they left the stage and walked out through the crowd. I was a very young child and
a giant fan, Moe walked directly towards me and shook my hand. I'm 55 and can still see it like it was yesterday.
The jet-black mop hair, his face looked so old.

Also lucky enough to see the Beatles during their 1st American Tour in 1964 in Chicago.
My sister is three years older than me and for her birthday my parents got tickets, I was "forced" to attend.
I have yet to meet anybody else who saw the -Best Band Ever- live.

You are the best, keep up the fight.

Subject: Bringing God into it?

Bart you wrote:

God didn't invent the internal combustion engine. That was Gottlieb Daimler.
God also didn't invent offshore drilling. The first platforms in the gulf were put there by Texaco, now Chevron.

But God did make the sun to shine and the wind to blow.
God has escaped his right-wing handlers and come out as ecologically-minded liberal, providing abundant clean energy.

Genesis 1:4,16: "God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light. God saw that the light was good...
God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night."

Amos 4:13: "He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man,
he who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth— the LORD God Almighty is his name."

Quotes

"The Florida Keys, third longest barrier reef in the world, is a dead zone. Ninety percent of the big fish,
the tuna, the sharks, and other things, are already gone in the oceans. There's a dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico
every summer the size of New Jersey, where there's not enough oxygen for things to live. So it's not a question of
'Can the oceans take any more?' The oceans can't take any more. They couldn't take any more fifty years ago.
The question is, when are we going to stop?"

Subject: Thank God you don't live in Detroit!

Bart, I am writing from Dearborn, just outside of Detroit.
I am commenting on your piece Thank God you don’t live in Oklahoma.

I don’t know if you saw the piece that was in the media on Detroit recently and yes it’s that bad.
At the moment, I’m employed but with the way our economy is going here who knows.
Wejust had three people shot and several stabbed right down the street from my home
over the weekend. Empty storefronts…it’s like I’m watching the whole town close up.

Hillbillies…I’ve got them too, living right next door to me!
Our politicians want to enact the same racial profiling legislation that Arizona passed recently.
Backwards thinking rednecks…
If you’re African American or any other minority, better get out by sun down.
Of course you’ve heard of the fine militia folks that populate my state.

If I lose my job (forget even thinking about getting another one here), I may end up in Oklahoma.
I’d take it ANY day over where I am living now.

Love your page, keep swinging that hammer.

Oklahoma is going to hit one hundred degrees this week

Hey Bart,
If anyone deserves some time off now and then, it would be you.
I do miss your page when you’re away, but I understand that when you are out, your entire staff is away as well.

Tell anyone who is complaining about you taking time off to stick it.

I am a long time reader and sure, I love it when there is a new Bartcop page everyday
but I certainly understand that you are human and need a break too.

I am not a subscriber and I would give you some money if I could, so I really appreciate
all of the great free content you provide. Its amazing how much people bitch when they don't
think they are getting enough free stuff. Maybe us lefties are just walking around with our hand out?

Although, I do get worried about you, with your health problems and all,
when there isn't an update for a few days. I hope all is well in that department.

Saw it on  http://www.whatnowtoons.com/

I was reading about America's idiotic Prohibition experiment
that failed but today's religiously-inbsane politicians pretend
that never happened to please a God who doesn't exist.

The article said in 1875, 1/3 of all federal revenue
came from taxes on beer and whisky.

Does California want to end their financial crisis?
Or do they want to please the Invisible Cloud Being?
