"The president just called for creating a fund
that would be administered by outsiders, which would be more of a redistribution-of-wealth
fund. And now it appears like we'll be looking at one more gateway for more
government control, more money to government."
-- Michelle Bachmann saying "Fuck the people in the Gulf, we love oil
companies" Link
"If
BP is the responsible party under the law...
-- MS Gov Haley Barbour, Repub first, Governor second (or third)
Haley,
where did you come up with that If?
Do you have your people working on a way
to let BP wiggle out of this?
"I do worry that this idea of making them make
a huge escrow fund is going to make it less likely that they'll pay
for everything. They need their capital to drill wells. They need their capital to produce
income...But this escrow bothers me that it’s going to make them less able to pay us what
they owe usn"W
-- MS Gov Haley Barbour Link
Seriously?
The Governor of Mississippi is questioning
the wisdom of having $20 Billion in hand
to give to the "small people" who got hurt
the most in this GOP-engineered disaster?
So... it would be better of BP held onto
that $20B?
If the Democrats had my I.Q. they could
never lose a race to these bastards.
I was just looking over your website and wanted
to comment on some things.
First, with Haley winning the republican primary
for SC, you had asked why are all these rethugs after her?
Come on, Bart....you know the answer, you are
just forgetting it. It's because she is female.
Republicans HATE women, that is why they vote
against equal work for equal pay each time.
Boggles the mind that republican women can't
figure it out, that their own party hates them.
I often write unclearly, but what I meant was
now that she's the GOP nominee
why are they telling people what a terrible Republican
(and human being) she is?
The second thing I want to mention is rather
funny. You know that story about the 6-story Jesus
being struck by lightening and burning down Monday
night? Well...talk about irony. Right across
the street from Jesus and his church is some
sort of Hustler Adult store that was untouched by the storm,
yet Jesus burns down. hahaha! I shouldn't
laugh, but I can't help it

"What the federal government should have done
is accept the assistance of foreign countries, of entrepreneurial Americans who have
solutions. They can't even get a phone call returned. The Dutch and the Norwegians, they
are known for dikes and for cleaning up water and for dealing with spills. They offered to
help, and yet no, they can't even get a phone call back. That is what the Norwegians are telling
us and the Dutch are telling us. And this company in Maine that has the boom and the absorbents.
Those companies that are waiting for the feds eight weeks later for regulators to
come in and say 'okay, we'll purchase from you now, we'll do all that we can.' That's
where some of the frustration is."
-- Sarah Palin Link
So, what part of that do we disagree with?
You know I hate agreeing with her on anything, but is she right?
Are we going to reply, "But
the job is so big, you have to assume there'd be lots of confusion?" Isn't that what the Bush bastards said
after Katrina?
This reminds me of the t-shirts Tally was
selling.
I don't want to hear Obama
say he's got this handled.
I want to see thousands or
tens of thousands of boats out there skimming.
One other thing - and I hope the White House
gets this:
As long as that well is spewing, I don't
want to see Obama in any cute photo-ops.
I don't want to see him shooting hoops or
taking pictures with some kid's hockey team.
We don't need any Easter Egg Rolls or cutesy
anything while that oil is gushing.
Yes, he needs his time to relax but if
he's seen clowning around with anybody
during this months-long disaster, it's
going to come off just like this.
Hanson is one of the biggest supporters of Tom's
shoes...the folks
that give one pair of shoes to a kid without
shoes for each pair you buy.
They introduced themselves to Blake Mycoskie,
founder of Tom's
and held concerts with portions of proceeds going
to Tom's.
He didn't know who they were when they called,
so the lead singer said "Um bop," to ID the band.
Blake says they have been a great help...going
above and beyond for the kids.
Cool story (heard Blake tell it at a speech he
gave about sustainability capitalism) and one I had not heard.
Wayne, Dayton
"Why won’t Obama even bother to meet with the
BP guy to hear him out? When I meet with the capitalists -
he’s a white CEO. Maybe that’s it! He’s a white CEO. White CEOs don’t want their tax dollars
go to inner city kids." -- Glenn Beck, caught telliung the truth
about white (Republican) CEOs. Link
It's a little scary when a lair like Glenn Beck lets the truth
slip out.
CEOs and Rethugs hate Black people and they want them starved
to the point where they can be drowned in a bathtub.
Glenn Beck - telling the truth about the racist Rethugs.
See who they raped lately.
See who they paid to keep quiet.
Kindle vs
iPod
I don't think I've ever seen an Amazon Kindle commercial on TV until
this month.
It's my guess the iPod is killing Kindle, but I'm a busy man,
I can't keep up.
Conjecture:
Black and white, no e-mail, no Internet Kindle looks at the iPod
the way black and white, no e-mail, no Internet GM looks at Honda.
They know they're behind, but they fight back and advertise
even more.
That tells me America's car companies are run by Republicans.
If the car companies were run by Democrats, they'd be under a table
somewhere,
crying into their hands, "What are we going
to do? We're doomed! Whaaaaaa!"
Like when a Chevy or Buick ad says, "Compare
us to Honda and Toyota." That's suicide, but what else can they do?
Maybe 2-3 people out of ten will prefer the Chevy-Buick (saleslady?)
more,
and that's a win for Detroit if they can snag 3 out of ten new car
buyers.
That is a mis-leading headline. Obama doesn't
even know who in hell
Marc Emery is, and he shouldn't, he has more
important matters to deal with.
Obama's Justice Department is demanding to jail
this "seed seller."
I say Obama's smart enoiugh to know what his
Justice Department is doing.
Either Obama or Obama's man on drugs wants this
guy in a cage.
That pisses me off.
Obama has admitted doing cocaine.
Should all coke users be put in a cage?
Emery's persecution started under the Bush administration,
but what really pisses me off
is that the Canadian government caved.
If Canadian police were unwilling to charge him,
they should not have allowed his extradition.
The United States in the world's most aggressive
bully.
We offer countries a carpet of gold or a carpet
of bombs.
I met Marc Emery years ago in London at an Ontario
bookstore.
He isn't a danger to anyone except the assholes
running the so-called "War on Drugs"
at a cost of billions each year. A war
they've obviously been losing for years.
If Marc believes in something, he'll go the limit
and it's no surprise to those
who know anything about him that he took the
fall to protect his employees.
Everybody involved in this persecution on both
sides of the border,
ought to be ashamed of themselves!
gmbullahs
So why defend the guy who's putting him in prison?
Gee Bart, you ever wonder why you’re on the same
side of this as Cheney?
Byron
The short answer is today's Democrats refuse to
fight for anything.
Can you name anyone within Iran's missle range
who is willing to say "Iran getting nukes
is not a problem?"
One other thing: Instead of being a dick, why don't you sack up and try my job for a
week?
Each day, write down your opinion on forty touchy subjects and see
what happens.
It's weird when friends call you "another Cheney"
for trying to stop a war.

"A few months ago, I approved a proposal to
consider new, limited offshore drilling under the assurance that it would
be absolutely safe - that the proper technology would be in place and the necessary
precautions would be taken. That obviously was not the case on the Deepwater Horizon
rig, and I want to know why."
-- Obama Link
Maybe the answer is - you're the most naive
Democratic president of my lifetime?
You seem to believe whatever you're told.
You seem to fall for the same trick over
and over and over and over.
Did you really grow up on the mean streets
of South Chicago?
What environment were you brought up in
where everyone always tells the truth
and their word is good because a man's
word is his bond, blah, blah, blah?
We can't get confirmantion on this but I
heard it again yesterday on CNN,
that you approved off-shore drilling (after
promising us you wouldnt) because
The Boner and The Bitch promised to help
you with your environmental plans.
...and you believed them?
If
that's the case, I'm worried
about your ability to make intelligent decisions.
What will it take for you to learn these
bastards can't be trusted?
First, it's on HBO so a certain amount of freedom and quality are guaranteed.
Second, it was created by David Simon, the genius behind The Wire,
The Corner, Homicide: Life on the Streets and NYPD Blue.
Simon is as good as anybody at telling a story and he gives it to you
hard and fast
but I was not prepared for the shocking ending last Sunday night.
All that's been written and televised about Katrina, I thought I had
a slight handle on
things related to The Storm but that shocker took things to a new level.
Watching the episode, you never see it coming. When it happened, I was
like, "No, ...that can't be..." but then you think back to all the things that character said and did
and then it hits you.
All the signs were there, subliminally, but nothing jumped out.
Simon doesn't lie and he doesn't tease his audience and he doesn't play
you for a fool
so I doubt there'll be some "safe" ending for that character.
Sidebar: Did you see that last Lie to Me?
Is Tim Roth the best actor on TV right now?
I think it's a great show, but nobody's watching it so catch it while
you can.
